OP, I too feel the same way. However my main problem w/cartos is the lack of flavor from them. They have throat hit and vapor plenty but the flavor is almost non existent. Kind of weird but they are newer so we shall see if anything changes.ps. I am also a dripper only for 6 months so that would prob have something to do with it.

I twisted the center post on a 'airy' 510 mega carto (almost 3/4 turn) and indeed it did ruin it. I then dissected the unit and cannot understand why this idea would work. There is no reason for it to work. Just my experience.

To fix the airyness, I cut the softcap side condom in half (I use the other condom for filling) and then cut a 'V' on one of the open ends. I then slid it down to cover the gap between the batt and atty. Adjusting the airflow by how much of the 'V' cut is over the gap. Be as acute as you can, the 'V' will open when slid on. Hope this helps.

Look at the end (on the cartomizer) where it screws onto the battery. See that indention in the middle? You can use a small eyeglass screwdriver and turn it to adjust the draw. Do not push in or down-you can damage the unit. Just turn. I haven't had to do this with mine-haven't got in any 510 carto's, just the 808's. And if you post on ikens site, he will gladly help you through the process.
This is for the 808's-Like I said not sure if the same is true for the 510 carto's-check with iken.

No!, Don't turn it you will break it for good. There is a wire going from that center post to the coil and it will twist it and break it.

Personally, I think the 510 cartos sucked (air) too! I'll try (yet another mod) cutting one of the caps with a V... WHO WANTS TO BE A MILLIONAIRE??? Invent something decent to hold juice on a 510, that's all it will take!

Yes, I tried it on 3.7 and 5 volts. Yes, I tried turning the screw. (I killed one). I tried the condom method (filling the atomizer end and filling the threaded end).

The best I can find thus far is a regular cartridge with the plug method (cutting cart filler to about 3/8") in an atomizer with the threads removed from the atomizer. Still need to fill frequently! Somewhat, not as bad, inconsistency.

Cartomizers suck air and produced little vapor, th and flavor, as far as I'm concerned...

So, I'm going to go out on a limb...

Have you ever noticed that those who LOVE cartomizers are usually women, or people who where light smokers before vaping???

Umm no, I mean I don't know the ratio, but I don't think it's gender based, nor the level a person use to smoke

Now they are not the only ecigs I use, but I love them for their purpose
(Male, 1.5-2pack LUCKYs) I have seen all the "methods" and the tips/tricks of cartos..shoot I contributed as well.

Not saying that you are wrong about not liking them, but just wanted to make a point

I also hope this thread doesn't progress OT with this topic... maybe a new thread if you are truly curious on the gender/level base of carto users

I recieved my first empty carto's today, filled it up using the condom method and am not really digging the very "airy" feeling i get when I pull on it..am I doing something wrong? Or maybe is it where I got them...are they diff?
Peas Help!

me too - filled them condom style - mouthpiece end - weak flavor and vapor....:(

I like the 510 cartos, but for certain times only.

I really enjoy the ease of use. They are great when Im walking through an airport. I dont have to stop every few steps and get weird looks as some flight attendant in full uniform drips liquid into some device while standing in the middle of an airport *Yikes* And its great on long drives where dripping is just not smart.

When Im home kicking back, there is something almost ritualistic about dripping. Just relaxes me. Then again, Im kind of an oddball....

Agreed....

That sounds like some really "strange" advice to me.

It's not. (disclaimer: at least not for me!) I've got some nhaler mega 510's and one full turn to the right significantly reduces the airflow to make it a harder, cigarette type draw.

Also, just so we're all on the same page. You can barely see it unfortunately, but it's the best my camera would do.. stupid focus. Right in the center you can see the depression for a standard screwdriver to fit. Obviously turning it TOO much isn't recommended but for me, one full turn to the right does it every time with no adverse effects.

Where'd you get em from, and what voltage are you using?

Also, if filled from the mouthpiece, I've found that the put em in a ziploc and twirl them over your head like you're trying to lasso something gets the liquid down into the bottom of the carto real fast instead of letting it settle normally.

I've packed 35 drops into a blank nhaler mega using this method and the liquid is perfectly in there and the top of the filler is just barely turning slushy like, akin to general cart filling instructions most retailers give. That way I don't have to let them sit for a day to ensure proper distribution. (make sure the end plug is in there though or it'll flood out the battery end.)

Not saying there's not bad carto's out there, but the experiences I've had with the ones I use have been 100% positive. (except for the weak pre-filled flavorings, the 555 left A LOT to be desired)

Ordered 45 510 cartomizers from EM. .80/ea shipping was fast. These were blank cartomizers, have used 4 (continue to use 4) so far, TV Atomic, TV butterfinger, cignot menthol and VV apple. Yes, the air coming through is much more than the standard set up but i find that the taste,th and vapor is much better than the standard atty/blue foam/drip. filling them condom style, I was impressed how much they held and find that after about a half days use I will fill up the condom 1/2 way and refill until the liquid comes out the battery end. let it sit for 5 minutes, roll it around on the counter and then blow out (lose a little liquid)..put it on standard 510 manual battery, heat up -some drowing/popping noise but after a few short puffs, it is ready to go.
I was tired of dripping every few drags.....but i find i miss playing with the tweezers and blowing out attys..there's no work involved. .80/each was the best $ i could find- even with shipping cheaper than $9/5.

Eastmall is definitely the least expensive I've seen, ends up being around $1/carto with shipping charges if you order around 50 at a time.

Downside is waiting, and they're hard-tipped with glue so the tops aren't easy to get off. Otherwise, cartos are cartos.

I like the soft tip ones from Nhaler, MadVapes has em as well since there's no glue to deal with, pop the tip and throw on a driptip. Good times.
