I have only found maybe two ejuices i like. But even those are tasting aweful. I wonder why I am not liking them very much anymore. I read that nicotine changes the taste. Not sure if this is true but wondering if maybe it's time to go to 0 nic? I am at 6 mg right now. I just find ejuice smells funny almost like a medicine smell when I open the cupboard that has all my bottles in. Now I seem to taste a medicine type now, it is hard to explain. Has anyone else had this happen? I don't have urges to go back to smoking but was thinking about getting some flavoured gum. Just don't know if I can give up the hand to mouth though. My husband bought about 10 new flavours today , so I am going to try them all to see if at least one will be good.

Yes, this happened to me also. After about 18mos my 2 favorite flavors weren't my favorite anymore. Matter of fact, I couldn't stand the smell or taste of them. After failing to find another flavor that I could vape for more than a day or two I started vaping unflavored. I've now been vaping unflavored for 22mos. About once every week or two I may vape some of the wife's spearmint. Then right back to the unflavored.

If nothing else, vape some unflavored for a few days, then go back to some flavors. Maybe your taste-buds need a break.

Good Luck.

Definitely sounds like vapors tongue. Make sure u stay hydrated while u vape.
When a wine connosuier samples a drink, they don't gulp it down, they swish it around the mouth, to ensure each taste bud has a chance to weigh in. Likewise, as u draw your vapor, roll your tongue over the inhaling air to pull the flavors out. Let it roll out over your tongue and through the sinuses.

Edit: the unflavored idea is a great one too. You'd be surprised how good an unflavored vape is.

Maybe its the brand of juice? Have you tried other brands?

When I get to where I can't taste my juice I have cinnamon red hot ejuice I put in a separate tank. T
A few puffs of that and my taste buds wake up fast. It seems to fix it for me every time.
I have tried over 30 or more ejuices. From 4 different shops and I only found a couple that I liked. One I really liked is banana split. But not anymore it seems. I just don't understand why my ejuice taste medical chemical like. I do have about 10 new juices here to try that my husband just bought today. But not holding my breathe that I'll like one. But I did order some sweet banana that I will be getting tomorrow. Hoping that will work. But going to try out no flavour too.

I'd try lowering the nicotine percentage, first. And if that doesn't work, go to unflavoured. This is all just based on what other people are saying, mind, but it seems like the logical option.

That, and always keep yourself hydrated, I know you probably don't need to be told that but if your tongues getting all the moisture leached out of it and you're not replenishing it with a handy water bottle, well, I can't see that making anything taste good.

Flavored gum works semi-decently when I'm in a situation where I can't vape, so that's an option if you decide to use it. It just doesn't replace the hand to mouth, as you mentioned, so it wouldn't work long term for me.

You didn't say (or I didn't understand) whether you buy your liquid or whether you make it yourself. If you buy it, maybe try another vendor. If you make it yourself, maybe try another nic source. Or try unflavored for a while--it's really not that bad at all, sort of pleasant.

Six months is great! Keep up the good work!

You could try mixing some of the flavors together can change up the flavors for you. I too vape a mint flavor when I think I'm getting vapors tongue. Also for me eating a pickle or crackers helps a lot. I tried going to 0mg but I like the flavor that nicotine gives so I make my own now and usually use 3-6mg. YMMV. I also use Vapors Tek nicotine which is really good!

Could it be the PV equipment you are using? Sometimes things get gunked up and foul the taste of whatever you put in them. Have you tried switching tanks or whatever you use? And trying some unflavored is a great idea; that way you can find out if it is indeed the nicotine that tastes bad (although I suppose it could be the PG/VG, if you have not used more than one supplier).

As your taste improves not smoking anymore, so does your taste. Just that I loved in the beginning is either ok or meh now.

But luckily I have at least two that I still love. Ahlusion Smooth Criminal and Nicoticket The Virus (H1N1) . Still on the hunt for new stuff now and then to keep things interesting. Just order a small bottle or try a sample.

I'm going to suggest the same thing, as my experience is in line with yours. Initially, I liked a lot of flavors (or so i thought) but somewhere after the 1 year mark I began to dislike pretty much every flavor I tried. Even the ones I "liked" didn't make it past the first couple of days before I was sick of them. That's when, I too, picked up vaping unflavored nicotine base and have not only been happy, but completely satisfied. In fact, vaping unflavored, for me, is the closest thing you will ever get to the "analog experience" after switching to vaping.

Everytime I'm in the B&M though, I do buy a few small bottles or samples so that when I feel like I'm bored with unflavored, I'll throw a flavor into the mix but always promptly go back to unflavored. Recently I have been alternating my unflavored with "Just Menthol" which is essentially unflavored eliquid + menthol crystals and I find I don't get tired of the menthol flavor like I do all the others--though never was a menthol guy, really. YMMV.

I concur.

It could be you filled or dripped something that did not agree with you and now it has infected your devices. A good soaking in some spring water or PGA/Vodka followed by a few hours of air drying should do the trick to clean your toppers out.

Now this could be pure speculation on my half, but in my experience I started having issues with dessert flavors especially. They gave me vapor's tongue faster than anything else. This could be from ANY number of reasons but without a doubt, switching to NETs/TAs is what solved my juice issues.

I'm very picky too, but after vaping the same 2 or 3 juices for half a year now I'm still pleased with it in all ways. My favorite is Burley Beard from Velvet Cloud Vapor. It's mildly sweet, peppery, with a nice aged-tobacco finish. Funny too, because the first time I tried the stuff I thought they put a skunk dipped in ash inside the bottle.

Amazing what you end up loving the most.

I recommend:
1.) A THOROUGH cleaning of all your devices you plan on using
2.) Methodical maintenance of changing wicks, charging batteries, and ensuring you have the best vape your gear can provide. I change my wicks and dry burn every 24 hours for the cleanest flavor possible.
3.) STAY HYDRATED!!!
4.) Try unflavored
5.) Try new vendors
6.) If all else fails, change your wattage. What might taste "blah" at 8 watts can taste "WOAH!" at 25 watts, and absolutely horrible at anything over 30 watts. Find what wattage works best for you. For me it's around 25-30 watts for maximum throat hit. Tends to bring out the spicy peppery side of juices as well.

There are of course plenty of remedies for vaper's tongue such as gently smelling fresh ground coffee beans, gargling lemon juice, vaping some red hot cinnamon, etc... But in my experience it's likely one of the above reasons for juice that is no longer satisfying your needs.

Hope you get it figured out!

P.S. I'm familiar with the medicine smell you speak of. My drawer smells this way. But hey, gather up some cinnamons, some florals, and mints... things tend to get funky. It's just "one of those things" if you ask me. If that's a huge issue for you, keep your ADVs separate from the rest. Cross contamination and all that.

Vape well, vape often :vapor:

Have you started any new medicine? Having any sinus issues? These can contribute to changes in taste as well. When I ask about the medicine it can be a medicine you've started within the past 3 months. Have you changed your diet dramatically? Changes in foods can change your tastes as well.

Its happened to me and I've only been vaping a few weeks. Sometimes I just lose flavor or they just don't taste like I think they used to. Also, after vaping one hell of a great e juice, it ruined everything else. Stay away from Virus because it destroyed everything else in my box. Stupid nicoticket and their perfect juice.

Same thing here. My first experience with vaping was a Fantasia disposable E-Hookah. I absolutely LOVED the flavor. When I got my ego, I got the same flavor in the form of juice, and I enjoyed it...but after a while I just got sick of it. This happened for pretty much all sweet flavors. Now the only flavor I truly enjoy is coffee, but I have to stay above 1.6 ohms when using it. Any builds under 1.6 ohms I go with pure VG and a little nicotine. I absolutely love the soft-yet-dense feel of glycerin at low resistance, and the taste is decent!
