DIY your juice. Swap stuff around. How do you know for sure it's the PG? (it may very well be...not saying it isn't).

I know some flavorings do that to me. Also, some VG does it. I know this because I DIY my juice. One supply of VG from a different than usual vendor did that to me. When I swapped it out, hives went away. Swapped it back in, they came back. Same nic base, same flavorings otherwise. Just a VG change. Not all VG is the same. Some comes from coconut, I think. Some doesn't.

If you DIY, you can do this type of swapping thing. Some flavorings do it too (for me). So...there's almost no way for you to know unless you've had tests or know from experience that it's PG. If it's a common flavoring or two, you won't know unless you DIY because they don't publish the recipe.

Also, when you get a juice you may have to shake it well and let it steep for a couple of weeks. It may go from horrid to wonderful.

I don't know 100%. I'm trying to figure it out. Thursday I vaped a 100%VG organic. I didn't like the taste much at all, but used it just to see if I'd have any kind of adverse reaction to it. I was fine, no itching, no hives. But the juice was just not something I could stand to vape and I have other 100VG samples that should be here on Monday.

But then yesterday - Friday - I pulled out an old bottle of PG based eliquid that I had purchased from a completely different supplier than what I had been using regularly (the 50/50 that I've been using daily for the past couple months that's been giving me issues) and vaped that most of the afternoon. By midnight last night, I had broke out in terrible hives and barely slept all night. So I have to assume a pretty good guess is that it's the PG.

Dont be disheartened mate, just try something else better!

I quit the analogues about 2 month ago, first i bought an E-Lites disposable from the train station. It was crap! nThen after a little research i bought a vaporlites kit and that was better, tasted more like a cig and lots of vapor but it was quite a heavy large device so i craved something that looked and felt more realistic so after a little more research i bought a ROK mini cig kit and this was great. It was the right size, great taste and even more vapor, i was well happy with this and over the moon that id actually found something that would help me kick the ciggies no problem and it did, i didnt have a cig for a month and it was easy!

Now ive got an Ego T and will probably be looking for some kind of vari volt device soon :)

Does sound suspiciously like a PG allergy.

Johnson Creek makes some 100% VG. I use a few of theirs regularly myself (though I'm not allergic to PG, I just don't care for it as much as VG). It's their "Red Oak" line that's PG free. They're over here: https://www.johnsoncreeksmokejuice.com/. Not everybody's a fan but I like several of their juices. And three are "mainstains" for me these days: Rainier, Vanda, and Domestic. And you can get sample bottles (5ml) for not too much (JC can be a touch high on price at times). And get a discount (and a little "storage tin" that's a bit too cute by half :) ) if you buy five samples in one order.

Dunno if you'd call them "organic" or not but they are an all VG option...

Hi
Not happy, it tastes horrible. I have read that so many people are happy with there vaping experience. I am just finding it unbearable. I can not describe the taste probably a plastic. I have a few puffs of it then I really do not want any more I miss that sitting down and having a few good puffs. I have ordered a cherry and a menthol do you think this will make me a bit more content?

Thanks Phil.

Hi Phil. Vaping involves quite a bit of trial and error and for some, it's almost like the quest for the Holy Grail.

For me part of that was simply finding out what APV I wanted to use and ECF has made it very simple for me to go with my current ProVari.

The next part was finding out what juice I actually liked so again I resorted to many youtube videos and ECF member reviews to help steer me in the right direction. I will never know all the stuff that's out there but I believe I found a few that I really enjoy and found what tastes good enough for me.

The last part is the delivery system. I went through a cartotank setup and various clearomizers and found something that appears to work well for me, a Kanger Protank until a GG Ithaka arrives in about a month. I must have about 20 combinations of bottles from different vendors and I have to say that I only really like about 3 of them.

I honestly believe that if you find the right juice and delivery system, your experience with vaping will improve.

Cheers Jim and every body else. It is a V1P PCC starter kit - STARTER KITS - All Products. I read over 300 reviews before I bought it and not one person said they did not get on with it. I am using a Virgin Tobacco 34 ml.

Phil.

I don't know if it helps, but I used a JacVapour PCC kit and neither me or my missus enjoyed the Virginia tobacco at all.
I like JacVapour, but as much as I support them (over E-Lites, skycig, 10motives and all those other terrible products) it is totally normal for reviews on a manufacturers website to only ever show the positive reviews. I have read 1,000s of reviews (for those other 3 companies listed) and it isn't until you find a genuinely independent review site, you will pick up any useful information.
I wrote a negative review about one make on one "independent" review site and ended up having to consult a lawyer and then "back down" after what I wrote as the truth about my experience. Big Brother is watching. I kid you not.
Anyway, JacVapour are NOT the same sort of business i.m.o. You can hardly blame them for allowing 350 positive reviews.

You need to find a flavour you like. You might also need to acclimatise yourself over a period of weeks.

I gave up smoking using a JacVapour PCC kit, but it was hard work. (I totally failed using a supermarket one by the way....never managed even ONE day...)

I knew Vaping was for me; but it took the arrival of a Riva kit and some flavoursome e-liquids to really break free permanently. Oktyabr makes good points, far better than I could.

Good luck.

I don't think that vaping is all that great either, but I'd rather vape than smoke--I think (st least I can hide in a bathroom and have a smoke and no one will know;). I've only been vaping a few weeks, and I have tried the 808, 510, eGo, cartomizer, etc..., and I'm not too impressed with the taste of ejuice. Too much sweet, sweet, sweet stuff, and I'm getting headaches. However, I'm hoping if I stick with it, I'll kick analogs.

I will suggest one really good tasting ecig (which more experienced members would probably laugh at). I don't know if you can get them in the UK, but they are called Greensmokes. Try Absolute Tobacco or Red Tobacco (ARE YOU listening juice makers?). Absolute Tobacco is better than a real analog. They cost a little more, but they are an excellent transition from real cigarettes.

    Cheers!

Getting headaches; drink more water & cut back on your nic level - you'll probably feel better :) Just a thought!

It probably is the PG and may be any and all PG. Just in case it's helpful though, pointing out this additional detail about PG & VG: All PG and VG are not the same

Hi, Phil. I'm a relatively new/intermediate vaper. I'll just throw my '2cents' in: When I started vaping, I barely managed to tolerate the steep learning curve and accept (with some frustration) the 'trial-and-error' process that I discovered is inevitable for a beginning vaper. After much research but before I discovered ECF, I bought my first e-cig: After about half an hour (which is about how long the battery lasted), I knew - even as a 'noob' - it was headed for the rubbish bin. The pre-filled carts came pre-charred  right out of the package. I know what you mean; I was definitely missing the effortless 'ritual' of lighting up.

I'm now on my third setup and am pretty happy with it; eventually, I'll probably upgrade the hardware a bit. Since I'm not an expert, I won't comment on the hardware issues. There are members here, much more experienced than I, who are giving you lots of good advice on that.

So, after the big 'intro,' the :2c: I mostly wanted to put in were this: Getting the hardware 'right' is a big factor in taste and 'enjoyability.' That said, the biggest hurdle I encountered, was finding an eliquid that I could tolerate, let alone enjoy. I ordered juices that were getting the best - or the most - recommendations in ECF. But of course, taste is totally subjective: The first 6 I tried were barely tolerable, nasty even. After sampling about 20, I began to find a few I liked and a few vendors who sold juice that seemed to suit my taste. Things have gone uphill from there and I'm really enjoying vaping.
The juice preference factor has, I'm sure, already been discussed in this thread but reading your post, I really empathise with your experience and your frustration with vaping being 'unbearable,' as you said. I hope you are able to 'hang in there' and have found good solutions on ECF. Hopefully you'll come to enjoy vaping as much (or more since it lacks the drawbacks), as you did smoking. Yesterday, I noticed that I was unconsciously reaching for my e-cig just the way I used to reach for my pack of cigarettes (which I had smoked since I was 11).

So, anyway - that's my 2cents' ... no, wait - I guess it was about 42 cents' worth.
Good Luck! - and keep at it ~ Zorg
