So I've been vaping for around 2.5 months now, and It's been good, until recently. I have a few tanks (a Protank Mini, a BCC Mega, and an Iclear 30), but I just haven't been getting that desired vape. I'm either getting sub par flavor, or weird tasting hits. I have an ego twist, a 16650 evic easy head mod, and an MVP 2. I've played around with different voltages / wattages, and it's good sometimes, but "meh" most of the time.

Any suggestions?

Mech and .8 ohm RBA.

The Fogger looks good! How does it hold up? Is the quality pretty good?

I had a fogger v2. Beautiful atty...vaped OK.. but I like a fresh coil, my main mix will gunk up a coil pretty quick and the things I use need to be easy to take apart and rewick. I use micro coils and cotton. The coil will last weeks/months and all I have to do is slide out the old wick, dry burn and slide in a new wick. The fogger was a beast to get apart...mine was anyway. The vape it gave just wasn't worth the hassle of getting it apart.

To the OP

A Provari and kayfun is one of my 3 favorite setups. I can drain, take apart, dry burn, install a new wick, reassemble and fill a kayfun lite in 5 minutes and 4 seconds.

A provari with a genesis (DID) set up with a micro and cotton is my another one of my 3 favorite setups. Tons of vapor and flavor.. easy to set up and rewick and with cotton.. it's not near as positional and/or leaking as with using mesh. (I used mechs with mesh genesis at .8Ω for 6 months or so)

I used carto tanks for about a year. Pretty easy and hassle free once you understand how they work. But the coils would get gunked up and I could taste it... no cure for that other than toss the carto and install a new one.. that can get expensive after awhile.

Take a stroll over the Reoville. It's pricey to get set up but it's the most hassle free, best vape I've had in 3+ years. (and it's the third, in no particular order, of my 3 favorite set ups ;) )

Can you recommend a source for cheap good quality kanthal? Kidneypuncher seems to have everything I could possibly need, but they seem a bit more expensive.

Free shipping is a huge +++

Cant go wrong with this company: Resistance Wire

IMHO they are the best place for wire! :)

Next set of gear after the carto tank. Still looking for the best prices for wick and wire, I'm actually planning on ordering some today, but I don't wanna get anything until I find the absolute best prices on it.

For wicking material, go to Calivapers.com and search "Silica Sale". Look for a member called videinfra and see all the great items he has for sale. Very fast shipping and 5 stars for customer service.

Hope this helps!

Yep, I have a two ProVarii and a KFL and a KFL + and let me tell you, this is a new dimension in flavor. You will fumble around with coiling for a bit, but after a few attempts you will get the hang of it. The work is richly rewarded. I wholeheartedly recommend this set up. A cotton wick with a micro coil is amazing in these attys. I have tried sub ohm and while the throat hit and vapor is impressive, the flavor is not the same as a well set up chimney coil on a KFL in my mind.

Good luck! There are lots of good suggestions here. Chase your perfect vape!

After an hour of staring at my madvapes cart showing the ehpro kfl clone (would love to afford an original but can't pass up half the price) and a total of 55 bucks shipped.... I'm checking out now.

Now I need a mod to throw it on... I just hope my wallet is okay after this!!!

Haven't read all of the replies yet, so I may be repeating, but I highly recommend learning to recoil your Protank heads and going to cotton wicks. Seems like the vaping learning curve includes virtually always trying to find the sweet spot, and thereby practically never actually being in it, but I've been in vaping heaven since I went to the above system.

^^^^ this x2 + infinity.

I had crap taste from my mini protanks IIs, then I used some Kanthal wire and some new coils I made myself and BAM! Flavor.

CVS sells sterile cotton balls for $3, get a box. Its *years* worth of wicks.

this is basically what I do to redo a coil.

It's soooo easy to go overboard picking up new goodies. I'm curbing my spending until after the first of the year.

During checking out of course I had to go back and add an ohm meter.....

Then bought a battery charger.... I'm having all this stuff shipped to Florida so I don't get it here and go overboard with buying a mod for it... all that can wait until I get back to Florida.

I've actually been thinking about getting a cartotank setup, but always see failed attempts at trying cartos in the carto forum. Many complain about filler flavor, and cartos going dry. I plan to get a IBtanked setup - just to have one because they're relatively inexpensive and seem to be high quality, could you recommend cartos to use? I've seen that Boge and Ikenvape seem to be the popular picks for cartos.

Ikenvape are good, hard to get.
I like the smoktechs, boge didnt work for me.
I reccomend trying it. Its all i will use now.
I have 8 smok dct and one ibtanked.
No dry hits for me, no leaking, clean taste.
I also reccomend getting intanks thingy for wvery tank you get makes priming a breeze.
I buy all my cartos and thingys from ibtank, got my smokdct from desertvapes and fast tech.

Dripping is a good place to start looking for an increase in flavor and nicotine. I've had to cut back on nic because the increase vapor gives a massive throat hit and the flavors of my juice is dramatically increased. You can also build a setup that can hold quite a bit of juice. One of my quads holds enough for an all day outing(almost). Innokin makes some nice stainless steel juice tanks you can put on your keychain or carry in your pocket if you get low.
