Not good...help please

So I managed too lose the spring out of my maxi V2. I currently have it McGyver'd with a home made paperclip spring but I'm fairly sure this isn't a safe long term solution. What can I safely use to make a new spring until I can order a new one and get it shipped out? For that matter, if Hoog or anyone from MV sees this, would I order the large or small battery spring to replace it? Large I assume?

If you are talking about the spring in the bottom tube, I believe it is a cut down and stretched (to make it fit tight in the tube) version of their large spring.
