so, i now have an extensive collection of 2 PV's. my eGo/nado, and a disposable greentech cigar.

for my eGo, i only have some mega carto's, and i don't have enough juice to dedicate one flavor to each carto, and mixing them turns out funky. long story short, i want a new atty and a drip tip.

should i keep my eGo basic for now and get a plain-jane 510 atty and a drip tip, or go with a cisco 306 lr? my two biggest things are flavor and vapor. I don't "deep inhale" so throat hit doesn't really affect me. In the future I want a big battery mod (silver bulet, glv2, etc), but would I benefit at all by vaping high voltage, whether its true or simulated (low-res)? I know it gives off more vapor, but I think I read that since its hotter, the flavor dies out. any advice on that?

It sounds like you are satisfied with your mega cartos as far as vapor and flavor, but don't want to deal with problems caused by changing flavors. If that's true, a standard resistance atty should work fine for you. If you're not satisfied with the vapor production and warmth, if you want something hotter, then you might want to get something with a lower resistance. There have been reports of cone type batteries getting fried by using LR atties, but other folks have used them without problems. The failure isn't in the battery element itself, but the MOSFET in the control circuit. I don't use an ego or LR; I'm a variable volt mod fan, so this is all info from other threads. You might consider something around 2 ohms as well. Not as hot as the Cisco and probably not as much a threat to your batteries. If you like the increase, your plans for a battery mod might be the next step.

I'm not overly impressed with the flavor of the 510 atty nor the way carts attach to it. If you do get one, maybe get a real Joye one or if you get another kind make sure you know it's a good type. Lotta substandard clones seem to be around too. There are threads around of 510 vs 306 atty. Just go to Google and search 510 vs 306 atty (or 510 vs Joye 306 atty) - you will pull up threads on this forum, other forums, maybe even some videos.

In general I like carts and atty because I like to mix flavors on the fly in the cart. Some people use one cart for fruity foody flavors and one for tobaccos. I add bits of more fun flavor juices to Turkish blend juices, sometimes add some similar DK PG juice if I want more TH. My favorite juices to add to tobacco cart are chocolate, vanilla-almond tobacco (a sweet smooth one from Velvet Vapors), FSUSA's oRYental (a light vanilla-caramel), FSUSA's (chocolate) Orange Ball. Change things up a bit.

And whatever you get, consider blue foam stuffing for the carts after the white stuffing gets tired and cranky. You can get precut 510/901 pieces cheap (under $1 for 10?) at strictlyejuice.com. I cut those down for my M401 carts. If you get something with larger carts than a 510 or just want to cut your own from scratch, get Marineland Rite-Size U Foam Sleeve in the aquarium dept of Petsmart. Blue foam made my carts a lot nicer. No more burnt poly taste, foam holds its shape and is easy to wash, easy to use, last and lasts, and flows at least as nice as brand new white stuffing.

And - as long as your battery doesn't have a hole in its threaded end, you could try a drip tip with your new atty too. My aluminum one works better than my plastic one (juice gets a bit stuck in the neck of the plastic one) and some like steel ones.

I forgot to mention that I'm not a fan of plain carts. when I first got my eGo, I couldn't get more than 2 or 3 good puffs from a regular, freshly filled cart before I got a burnt taste. I dripped with an empty cart for a while, but kept flooding it. Never caused problems, other than the mess and wasted juice. I was also burning the piece of the cart closest to the atty.

So far the mega ego cartomizers have been my best bet, but I just want something different, and a whole new unit is out of the question for now.

If the cart itself is being melted that means it isn't being put into the atomizer correctly. The straight sides of the cart should be on either side of the bridge in the atty. The round tips always gave me problems with this, so I switched to the whistle tips. If you're going to use LR attys with the eGo type batts, I suggest that you don't go below 2.0ohms. You'll still be running a risk of frying the switch, but it will be less risky than using 1.8 or 1.5ohm attys. You will only be able to use these for dripping. They don't work well with carts because the juice won't wick fast enough to keep up with atty. LR attys MUST be kept wet while you're using them or they'll pop.
