well Hi everyone

I finally got into RBAs and unfortunately I made the mistake of purchasing before consulting with ECF so I ended up with a not so new and slightly behind the curve product. Now I sort of wish I'd bought the kayfun instead but I am where I am and I like to make the best of what I have.

Issue I'm having is getting it to work well without SS mesh, the thing is essentially designed for use w/ SS mesh but I really did not like those so I tried to rebuild it with silica but I'm having quite a bit of trouble with it.

So the version of steam turbine clone I have have has 3 2.5mm holes in it, I took out the mesh which had worked OK & tried several silica wicks, from rope to plain old silica and none worked until someone recommended I take strands out of the 2mm wick to give the wick "room to breathe" so I did and low & behold it worked, but the vape is still not very satisfying. I'm beginning to think that the wick is too thin to bring up enough liquid to the coil (it's probably a 1.5mm wick now) so I'm wondering if anyone else tried drilling the holes. If so which holes? all 3 or just the wick holes?

Thanks in advance for any input :)

The wicking is right around 2.5mm, probably. As to length, I would guestimate probably 1 1/4". To use cotton wicking you just take an organic cotton ball and unroll it, then peal away a fairly small length of it and roll it up (it helps to wet it) and thread it through the coil and into the hole. When it reaches the bottom clip the remainder sticking out above the coil. Easy-peasy.

I did not wrap the coil as a micro coil, but used 30 gauge wire with a slight amount of spacing between each of 5 wraps.
