Hey guys, been out the vape game for awhile. I always got Sony batts when I vaped years back. I was looking at 3,000 Mah but 10 Amp continuous. I will be running on an Rx 200 so 3 batteries & I usually use .5 ohm coil. So if I go off this does it mean I shouldn't vape above 90W? I suck at Math lol. I'm wanting longing lasting batteries & I'm thinking 10 Amp is ok since there are 3 & I don't vape too high, I do have a Clieto 120 that I like at 85 watts here & there so am I cutting it close & should just get 20 Amp batteries?! Sorry all, been along time!
I usually buy the highest rating/mah available. My favs are the LG HG2, Samsung 30Q and Sony VTC5A. You can't go wrong with those in most any regulated mod.

Love you man. Would you do that again in 2x700? There are more and more mods going on!
I really only stay current with 18650 batteries. Given some time in the future, I might attempt to do the same thing with 2x700 batteries.

If you know the true amp rating of any battery, you can apply the wattage limits per battery as I did with the 18650 batteries using Mooch's recommended batteries and the amp rating he tested.

I'm using 2 Sony vtc4's at 11.5 watts for a 1ohm coil MTL. I figured the amp rating would still be high enough after a couple of hundred cycles.

I'm happy to continue to buy and use these same batteries in the same way.

Would a pair of Sony vtc6's be sufficient for the same application, and for as many cycles, amp wise ?.

I like the sound of 3000mah. As it is the existing batteries i'm using are all down to about 1700'ish mah and barely last a days vaping.

My question is meant specifically about what the amp rating would be after a couple of hundred cycles or so.

I'm using the charts as usual. I try to buy 25 amp batteries since I have only 1 mech and not a hybrid mod (the Coppervape BF).

Battery duty cycle refers to the approximate number of recharges it can be “cycled” through before the battery will no longer hold a charge. Duty cycles can be up to 500 charges but will vary depending on the core battery composition. Usually, after 250 - 300 charge cycles the battery will begin to lose its ability to hold a full charge; less if it has been used/abused by running it at its maximum continuous discharge rating.

The Sony VTC4 has a 23 amp and 2100 mAh rating, good for up to 60 watts per battery.
The Sony VTC6 has a 15 amp and 3000 mAh rating, good for up to 45 watts per battery.

For your application in a regulated mod, the VTC6 sounds like a good idea to me. You have the amps needed for your application, and the 1/3 increase in capacity should provide you with additional use between charges than the VTC4.

With a regulated mod like the RX200, don't worry about coil resistance. Coil resistance is irrelevant with a regulated mod.

With a regulated mod, the wattage setting that you use determines the battery amp rating that you need.

Not sure what battery with 10 amps you are talking about. About the lowest amp rating with a modern high drain battery (not high capacity) that I'm aware of is 15A.

So with three 15A batteries in the RX200 you'll be good up to 135 watts. And with 3000mAh per battery, you'll get longer run time than with a higher amp battery with a lower mAh capacity.

* Side note. I have an RX200, and unless yours is the DNA model, I can tell you it's chip is not a very battery efficient chip. It also seems to have a higher voltage cutoff compared to other regulated mods.

-If you use a good quality 15 amp CDR battery like the Samsung 30Q or Sony VTC6, then you are good up to 45 watts per battery; 90 watts using two; 135 watts for three batteries.

-If you use a good quality 20 amp CDR battery like the LG HG2 or Samsung 25R then you are good for 60 watts per battery. If using a 2-battery regulated mod, you're good for 120 watts as you have two batteries. If you are using a 3-battery mod, you're good for 180.

-If you use a single 25 amp CDR battery like the Sony VTC5A, then you are good for 75 watts per battery, 150 watts for two batteries, and 225 watts with three.

-If you use a single 30 amp CDR battery like the LG HB6 you are good up to 90 watts; with a pair of 30 amp CDR batteries you could safely do 180 watts.

Hey bad I have read your standard battery question reply many times now and it never gets boring or repetitive. Some things are just so vital that it overdone. Battery safety is at the top of that list. You do fine work at making the community a safer place. Thank you and may the Force be with you.

Ive been using mods with DNA chip with the batts proprietary installed but still have my good charger, and use flashlights with rechargeable 18650s.
The thing is, and pardon me for asking OT, its been many years since ordering my high drain 18650s, which I used in my older mods, and I find that its hard if not impossible to get shipping in the USPS to Hawaii. I need some good 18650s for flashlights.... any tips on shipping Li-ion batts to Hawaii? (button tops non hi-drain).
PS. I only need a few as flashlights these days do come with USB charging function.

I use Sony VTC5a’s in my mech/squonk mods that take 18650.
I use Efest 20700 Imrs in some of my squonks and I need to upgrade my regulated mod batteries. I was using LG 3000 mah (I think they are 3.7 volts and 20 amps) in my regulated mods and have about 20 of them but now I’m not sure if I should just dump everything to the Sony VTC five A’s for my regulated. They seem to be a good all-around battery. But I always check mooch’s site. For sure

You might see if Orbtronics will ship to Hawaii. I know they carry some low drain, high capacity button top 18650 batteries.
