vaping has been great for me. It has got me off smokes. But it is becoming way more of a hassle then anything. I have spent a lot of money for so called quality stuff, and it all doesn't work or has to be messed with. I spend more time fiddling with all this stuff then I do enjoying a good vape. Juices are never the same so I have to spend a bunch of money and wait for juice to come in the mail. 90% of witch is nasty and I throw away. I bought a vamo v2 and my ego twist is more reliable then that thing. I wish I could just get rid of all the fancy crap I bought and just use a regular old ego. Why is it so much to ask for things you pay good money for to work like they should. coils never work or crap out after a couple days. It's crazy!

Finding your perfect setup is tough. I have been vaping for almost two years, and have spent a boat load of money on gear. In my opinion the best vape is an Ikenvape 801 fusion carto in a J-tank from electronicstix.

As for the juice not tasting the same, your taste buds are probably healing, which makes things that used to taste great taste like crap. I was in love with one particular juice early in my vaping, I went through 120 ml a month. Then one day it tasted like crap. I could never vape it again.

Hang in there. Once you find the setup that works for you, stick with it. Good luck!

sorry to hear your troubles. whats the issue with the vamo? i have a v2 aswell and have no complaints, i've dropped it a good dozen times and it hasnt missed a beat. finding a good juice is not the easiest to do, i'm lucky to have a local b&m that makes good juice. i have ordered juice from quite a few online vendors with no real complaints, got a couple that weren't great, luckily nothing terrible yet(besides that alien vapors bobas). if you're liking the twist better, vape with that, use the vamo for ohming out your own coils. hopefully things get better for ya.

It sounds like you need to find a good, reputable vendor to buy from. Have you gone to a local vendor to try out some juices? This is always the best thing to do. You can sample lots of different flavors and see what types of flavors you tend to like. Then when you order from an online juice vendor, you are more likely to be successful in your choices.
Also, it may cost a bit more but you may want to buy your equipment locally too. That way if you do run into a problem, you can take it back in and have them help you. Customer service is ALWAYS better face to face. It is also quicker than having to ship it back and wait.
Just ask around here in the forum for suggestions on some really great online vendors. Everyone here is more than willing to help!

Good Luck!!

 Sorry you've had a rough start vaping. Not everyone goes through such frustration.

Unfortunately, much of the items used in vaping is of poor quality and pretty much hit or miss. Often sticking with genuine name brand items such as Joytech, Vision, Innokin, and Kanger products improves your chances of being satisfied.

Nearly all of the gear we use comes from China. Their way of life and the way they manufacture consumables is far different from the rest of the world. "We build cheap. You buy cheap. It break, you buy another." This is accepted business practice in China. The above brands suggested do a good job with quality products, but there are hundreds of companies who make knockoffs and clones which do not meet those standards.

This is just my observation and opinion being in the vaping community for over a year.

The Vamo is one of those frequently cloned items built cheap and sold cheap. You get what you pay for. I don't wish in any way to discourage you from vaping. Just know that THERE ARE QUALITY PRODUCTS available to us, you will just have to pay more for them. Machinists and construction workers don't buy cheap tools, they buy quality name brand tools that will last under hard use. Same goes for vaping gear.

Not all dissatisfaction can be directed to poor equipment. Knowledge and proper techniques goes a long way in using these items. Many problems can be attributed to user error.

My guess is you may have ordered the Boba's from the knock off site. The REAL Boba's site is: Alien Visions E-Juice . Is that where you ordered from?

I have to say, my Vamo has not skipped a beat either. I did have to send it back when I first got it. The vendor replaced it and I have had no problems after that.

As far as juice goes, did you let it steep? Most juice does not taste good when it first comes in the mail. You have to let it sit for a week or two before it begins to taste right. A lot of times, unsteeped juice tastes perfumy or worse. Then when it settles down, you get the actual taste! There are only a few juices that I like right out of the mailbox. Even some of my favorites taste like @$$ until they are steeped.

It just seems like I replace coils like crazy. Every 2 days or so. The vamo itself is not the problem I suppose. I just don't have a local store that I can go to. Well I do but he has no clue. Just in it for the money. It just seems like everytime I get something new I have an issue. Everytime I get to a point where I think I have it figured out my coil crashes or my tank gurgles or I get a mouthful of juice. Not going to stop just very frustrated! Like this viva nova I just bought. Filled it up and it taste like burnt plastic not to mention the guy at the store sold me the wrong coils so I can't replace them.sorry for all the whining!

Glad you're not giving up! :thumb:

Your draw technique while vaping "may" be part of the problem. This equipment is not designed to work like a real cigarette. Longer, gentler draws work best. Not quick hard pulls, which can either cause dry hits or flood the coil. http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/ecf-library/337017-inhalation-technique-e-cigarette.html

The Vivi Nova is another frequently cloned item. The genuine ones made by Vision work as advertised, but many of the generic versions not so. One thing to know about the top coiled clearomizers like the Vivi Nova is you have to frequently tip, or swirl the juice, in the tank to keep those string wicks wet. They don't automatically wick the juice up to the heating coil, you have to help them fight gravity and keep them wet.

I've never been a fan of the Vivi Nova myself. But I have used Kanger Evod/Protanks and Innokin iClear 16/30 clearomizers. I've been using 3 - 4 iClear 30 clearomizers for over a month and have yet needed to change a coil head. So there must be some technique or user error involved on your part. Look for demonstrations on the Vivi Nova on You Tube to gain specific knowledge on how to use them.

Only good things can happen with vaping, down the line. With analogs, you know what's coming. You're venting, I get that. But they're just hurdles, brother. Imagine what the folks had to go through 5-yrs ago. For me each mod has its place depending on what I want at the moment. I like spending time playing with all these things... what the hell else do I have to do? But as I told you before, I try to go out of my way in an effort not to take advantage of anyone, I'm too close to meeting my Maker and I can no longer use the excuse of being young and stupid to explain away wrong/bad acts in life. Okay, I know this hasn't been of any help to you but there are no definitive answers to subjective questions... it's just what makes you feel best physically and emotionally and only you can answer that. Good luck, brother, I've spent a boat load of money finding the two different mods that fit all my needs.

I can address your juice issue......BUY SAMPLES. You won't spend a ton of money on stuff that tastes bad. You can put it in the search bar of most ejuice vendors online.
I didn't have the B & M, or vaping friends close by when I started, it was ALL trial and error, so I totally feel for you! I didn't hook up with this wonderful forum til many mistakes into my "adventure".
Have you tried going to thread specific title for your gear? There's a lot of solid info there on issues that may happen, or in some cases, are guaranteed to happen. After acquiring loads of "stuff", I finally found that the eVic and SID combined with a Kanger Pro Tank 2 hit all the marks for me, and this last month has been problem free. But, heck, I started vaping back in January!!!! Sucked up a LOT of juice, some things leaked so badly I might as well of had a drool cup, burned a lot of coils, tore apart just about everything I've gotten and fixed it or least tried to.
Hope some of that helps!

Couple of things come to mind. First, I don't vape correctly and burn through coils in two or three days. My 46% flavored dark cinnamon juice contributes to this. I don't care. I spent $120 a week on smoking, so if I have to spend $10 a week to vape, I'm ok with it. When you smoke, you just throw the .... away. With vaping, it's only a matter of time, before you have to replace the "heated" parts. Some can stretch their stuff out for weeks or longer. I'm not one of them and just accept that. Also, I mainly use cartos, or build my own coils for one device or another. I've had cartos last me only one day, though I normally get two or three days from them. Am I doing it wrong? Hell no, I like what I'm doing and how I'm doing it. I'm not trying to make everything last forever, I'm trying to enjoy myself right now and accept that I have to tinker and frequently change stuff out. I love vaping, I DIY, I rebuild, I have everything and I accept the good parts and the bad parts of vaping, AND I DON'T SMOKE ANYMORE!!!

Be patient. Watch some YouTube videos on all your gear. There are many little tricks about making everything work better, easier, cleaner, more flavorful, etc. My worst day vaping beats my best day smoking any day. Good luck and Vape On!!!

If you issue is quality of mods and consistency of coils and tanks etc, it really is pretty easy to fix. First off, just spend the cash and get a Provari. I know all the Provari haters will tell you don't need it, and it's true that you don't. But the thing is it's an extremely well built mod and the quality of the vape is second to none. Then IMO take the plunge in to a rebuildable dripper. You can buy this for under 10$ Phoenix RDA Atomizer and then decide if you want to invest in a better one. Wick and wire is incredibly cheap, you can make a new coil with around 5 cents worth of supplies which will last you anywhere from three days to a week (some people push them longer but because it's so cheap to recoil silica rebuildables i change mine more often than I have to). It is VERY easy to do a simple wrap on something like that RDA that I linked. I'm telling you right now that a Provari and a simple RDA will not let you down.

Sorry to hear about your troubles, but glad to hear you're not giving it up either. I'm still new to vaping and I know I have a lot to learn. I've decided to start building my own coils because I couldn't see tossing them out and buying new ones. I have burnt more than a couple within the first day because of dry hits or too much voltage. There's a learning curve associated with it but I'm leaning and I'm sure you will too.

I've had some nasty surprises when I get my vapemail, but after even 1 week they taste so much better and I'm glad I didn't toss them. I get to taste some good stuff at my local B&M and even then I have to wait a week or so before it tastes as good as it did when I tried it at the store.

Hang in there!

The Vamo is great. I have 3 which all work fine.
As for the vape making process, it's a must to learn coil rebuilding. And experiment with other wick materials, cotton yarn, cotton butchers twine, cotton gauze pad, cotton ball. You can research all these wicking materials

It took me time and money to find what I needed for GREAT VAPING.
Now I don't have many bad vape days , ( as I called them)

1 of my favorite setups is:
900mah ego with a 2.2 ml T3 bottom wicking tank, ( very easy to re-wick and build a new coil ) . I prefer 1.7 to 2.0 ohm resistance. Silica wick ( 1/2 " long ) and butchers twine for the top flavor wick. Kanthal 32 gauge for the coil.

As for the juice :
18 mg Hangsen Expresso, Ice Cream, Vanilla, mixed directly in the clearomizer.

I always have Xtra batteries & clearos filled , and 1/2 the time switch out to the Vamo for a different vape production.

Don't get disgusted, go with what worked for u to quit in the first place .

It's not about keeping up with the jones's,,,,,
It's about being satisfied with what works for YOU.

VAPE ON
