The light treatments have worked well for me. I still have a couple of spots for the dermatologist to look at on 2/10....Prolly me just being paranoid...

I had a second cousin and long time friend pass due to covid yesterday...Many around here are sick including an Unknot in the hospital and another Unk and Aunt sick at home...Let's not forget 18 month young Asher as he's got it to. Sis just ordered up some of those free Joe Biden test kits for everybody. I've been paranoid about covid as well.

Mom got better after the tramadol gave her psychotic episodes. Still not where she was and I suspect Dementia or Alzheimer's....The audiologist in Chapel Hill has set her up with a heavily discounted pair of hearing aids....they were $6500 and I think they're gonna be around $800. Some kind soul donated a set and Mom got picked. She was having tramadol issues when her appointment was scheduled and her re-scheduled appointment is tomorrow. Sadly we had to move Mom to my Sis' house. Someone has to keep watch 24/7.

Couple of months back I got new internet after my old provider dropped the ball. Direct TV gave me the NFL games for free so I put off dropping them until after the season. 1:15 on the phone cancelling with Direct listening to every recorded message they had. They're praying you hang up...I didn't.....Got myself a Roku and now I've got Hulu for my tv. I'm tech challenged but I've got a computer that'll provide whatever info I need. I installed the internet line myself and moved it into the house from my body shop. To Far for Charter and there's a creek between but I dealt with it. I scienced everything out and a speed test indicated I had a very fast connection. Now I've got more tv and internet than I know what to do with and paying way less than before....Been working around in the house due to an ice storm and dag on Antartica temps outside. Switched out the mini blinds for some black out shades and took the curtains up to the laundromat...I'm liking those blackouts and I'm gonna get some for the bedroom next. My reverse osmosis water filter was dragging so I looked into that. I suspect I may have an issue with pressure at my well so I ordered new filters, a gauge and a booster pump for my reverse osmosis. Got all that installed today and happy to say she's filling up my jugs pretty dang fast. The ice storm left plenty of limbs down and there's another bad storm with ice and snow expected Thursday. My heat isn't reliant on electricity so I just need to grab some batteries just in case. Planning on cleaning the house should we get trapped inside and it's looking like that's the case. Ya'll take care and watch out for that damn virus....Dee
You be careful in that ice storm, Dee :) Hoping you and yours come through this Covid thing. So far we’ve been good.

Right as rain here too! In fact, a whole lot of rain here lately! It is making the indoor renovations not so painful though. Nothing worse than being stuck inside working on a gorgeous spring day when you could be outside soaking it all up.

We’ve been redoing the two rooms and front door hallway on the first floor since taking down the Christmas tree. Some of it was slow going but we are only working on it some nights and every weekend. Ripped up the carpets (good riddance!) and laid vinyl plank flooring, sanded walls, painted, put up trim etc. Had some electrical stuff done. All in all it looks like a different house and we are loving it! The second room (turning into a bedroom for my mom to move in to) is almost complete …trim goes up today, then we move on to the hall.

Maddie applied, tested and has been accepted to mine and Bo’s alma mater!!! (Tech) She’s thinking of taking up Engineering or construction. We shall see! So proud of her!!!

I hope you all are doing well. Hugs!

Glad things are going well for you. Up here we are in bad need of rain. We've had many sprinkles but no real rain to amount to anything.

You'll have a new house when you're done, it's so worth doing. Wow, Maddie sure has grown up. Glad she's doing so well.

Congratulations to Madison !!! I would've bet the house she was still around 12 years old.....DANG

Mom has been diagnosed with dementia...Sis and I rotate keeping Mom in her house...Mom has good and bad days. She is a narcissist and the dementia has only made that worse. Trust this....I'm being tested but I will get through it....

Sis went to the beach a few weeks back....Said the toilet in the front bath was leaning...Yeah....I dove into it and found the floor in the bath and adjacent bedroom destroyed due to a leaking wax seal under the toilet. Insurance paid my estimate minus the deductible and $975 in what they call recoverable depreciation. I called my agent for explanation and he said recoverable depreciation was to cover the insurance company in case I decided not to repair. I've gotta save all receipts and notify them when the repairs are complete to get the $975. Last I heard the deed was in my gun safe...The insurance has no vested interest but they're covered in case I decide not to repair. Thought I covered them when I paid my dang bill...I'll get the money but still....I took over the master bedroom when Mom started not going as much. The damage is in the other end of the trailer with three bedrooms and a bath on that end. Plans are to increase the bath and 2 of the bedrooms in size while losing the third bedroom and adding a walk in closet beside the now larger bathroom. I scored a new 36 x 60 shower....a 42 vanity with a marble top/sink and a tall cabinet for towels and such last week. Now all I gotta is work like Hell every second my eyes are open and maybe I'll get that done to.

Managed to score an 04 Honda Element. I worked at Honda when they were new and always wanted one. The Tacoma while still going strong has 220k and I wanna keep it going for as long as possible so it's on break for the time being. My Dodge dually has 6 k more miles than when I purchased it 4.5 years back and is handling any truck duties. Dang old Elements have achieved cult status and are hard to purchase these days unless they're worn out. Mine is low mileage and still has quirks. I've been assembling parts to get it ready for a lotta miles....4 struts and all assorted strut components...high performance brakes all around and finally every suspension bushing in polyurethane. She's a little squeaky over the bumps and that drives me insane. When I get it sorted out it should make a sweet little ride for a dang long time. The floor is completely flat and I've got the back seats out and a rubber mat to place back there to help stuff from sliding around....You can haul pretty much anything you need to and get pretty good mpg at the same time. If I hear I never thought I'd see you driving that one more time though....Maybe I need a couple of bricks beside the seat....

Hoping the best to all that read this. I'm in a fight right now but ya'll know I can't be beat....Dee

It has for sure been hot and steamy here.

Watching Mom is taking up most of my time these days. Some days are not so bad and some are very bad. Dementia sucks for everyone involved. The beach house is going slowly. I've got the walls out but still have demo to do. Gotta remove a plumbing vent pipe that goes through the roof. I'm moving a wall to make the bath bigger and the vent pipe was in that wall. Gonna have to patch the hole in the roof and that's where I called time out.

Installed Blink cameras at the beach. I get alerts and videos on my phone. My old tree trimming neighbor is starting to whine about the tree again. I'm well versed in NC tree/neighbor laws and also well within those laws. One of those Blinks is pointed at that tree. The tree lady has two cats that she allows to roam free. The cats have been using my shelter as a litter box for a while now. They have now started their third pile in front of the storage building door under the shelter. The neighbor had approached me about two weeks back about the tree. I was cutting grass at the time and after she approached my I found a tree service card nailed to the tree. That made me a little hot and let's not forget two years back the police told her to stay away from that tree. I'd put her off two weeks ago saying I'd call someone as I was past my limits cutting limbs. I intend to cut nothing else and like I said I'm well within the law. Last week she approached me again and I showed her the litter box. She said she would clean it up. I then showed one of the cameras and told her to stay out of my yard and that I would clean up the cat sheet. I told her she would set the camera off and in that week she is now on video 4 times. I was pretty clear telling her not to come in my yard. That's what I'm dealing with. She did have a plastic grocery sack and a rake one trip but a shovel and wheelbarrow are gonna be required plus it's being added to on the daily. Last trip I had to take time to install cameras and let's not forget the 250 spent on them. I asked her to control her cats and she is in violation of city ordinance allowing them to roam. Time for this I haven't got. Next trip I'll be hitting animal control and filing a complaint. That's best to keep me outta jail....

Well when you think it can't get worse.....

    Sis has covid....Mom and I are under quarantine....Now I'm watching a dementia patient 24/7...

Cats....They're on video plenty now....Even saw one coming from under my house...That explains the occasional funny smells and was the last straw....I called animal control. Cats nor any other animals are allowed to run free. Trapping on private land is legal and what animal control told me to do...Said they used to trap but their traps kept getting stolen...So.....Yeah...Up to me.....I just know that going forward I'm not dealing with this anymore...

    Just praying I don't get sick....Mom is 90 so there's that also....

Well I didn't get sick nor did Mom. Mom's dementia is getting worse and she is bedridden. Sis is away for a few days touring with BiL's band. They're playing the Bowery in Myrtle Beach tomorrow night. The Bowery once had a house band by the name of Alabama. I'm no fan of the Alabama style of Country Music. In all I've seen and done in this life I never dreamed I'd be pinned down changing diapers for a 90 year old.....but here I am.

Got my cameras up and running at the beach. Also got the cat situation handled....all I'm saying is there is a trap in the storage building and I'm a country boy with skills. I've been seeing a few foxes in the yard and a neighborhood kid cutting the corner through my yard. Work on the trailer is moving slow as I spend 1/2 my time down there cutting grass and stuff like installing cameras. Gotta get some internet and tv at Mom's to help ease the burden as my phone likes to play games with reception up there. Got my Element in the shop today so I can change out the crappy Honda suspension bushings. That's gonna take a few days and I've got a baby monitor I can watch Mom with from the shop. Gotta go and really I just hit the post so 908 can find it again. Love to all.....Dee
