You need something that will fit inside it to keep it steady. I followed a suggestion in the comments and cut the plastic top part of an old tube of caulk. You could use a dowel, but if you don't have an old tube of caulk in your basement...go to walmart and pick up a cheap one for a couple of bucks. It is the
perfect size!
Make absolutely sure when marking your holes that you clear both top and bottom
threads, and that your marks are in line above the
juice channels. Best
