Got a question Bov...was it difficult to drill out the holes in the ksm like that video you posted? I wondered because he didn't actually show it being done. I was concerned if it might distort the shape if you aren't careful. Thanks!
You need something that will fit inside it to keep it steady. I followed a suggestion in the comments and cut the plastic top part of an old tube of caulk. You could use a dowel, but if you don't have an old tube of caulk in your basement...go to walmart and pick up a cheap one for a couple of bucks. It is the perfect size!
Make absolutely sure when marking your holes that you clear both top and bottom threads, and that your marks are in line above the juice channels. Best mod I have ever done to a piece of gear...it doesn't leak, and wicks like a dream

Well I figured if I screwed it up, a new replacement rba for the KSM is only $7, and the one I modded wasn't useable anyway

I haven't had a problem with my KSM yet but if need being there are plenty of caulking tubes around here.
Long day but I got a lot accomplished. We did the holiday thing last week while the kids were here.
