Here's hoping this trip around the sun brings you all love, peace and happiness.....
Weird how stuff happens....Knowing I'd have to hit the store for coffee if I was gonna have coffee tomorrow I see a link where a doctor wrote about dangers of the Keurig...I've got 2 Keurigs....Both have only had RO filtered water and this does seem to keep 'em clean...I got re-fillable cups and I find them a major beech to clean...I'm lazy and I've got a Sam's card and an empty box of 100 disposable k-cups....Plan was to hit Wallys and pick up a small box of k-cups util I could get by Sam's...So being I needed Keurig supplies I hit the link to see what the doc said.....BPA in plastics....It's there...for normal food storage it isn't much of an issue....BPA free plastic has other chemicals that are just as bad or worse.....so fekk plastic......Seems BPA leeches 1000 times worse when exposed too heat and even more than that when acid is added in too the mix....coffee is acidic...BPAs cause a grocery list of bad sheet to happen too your body....not getting into all that let's just say I thought the calender was being unkind....maybe....but a fresh dose of BPAs with every k-cup????? SOAMFinBeech!!!!!!!!!!!!.......Not to mention I'm extracting BPAs at the maximum rate using heat and acid.....So I close the link and lo and behold a stainless k-cup is staring me in the eyes...Pretty sure it's an Eco and available at Bed Bath and Beyond...use it as is or with a filter....if they have filters I'll grab some along with 2 of the stainless cups....I've long known about the k-cup landfill issue....now the poison thingy....glad that 100 count box isn't 3/4 full at least.....I was hoping someone would bring a biodegradable, poison free and disposable k-cup to market but I guess not...BBandB here I come....

I have worried about it myself ElDee.....I thought they were BPA free plastics, but what you said about the alternative materials.....lets just say I have a 20%off coupon for BBnB and will be checking this out! Thanks bud!

I saw that article but didn't read it. I haven't used my Keurig in ages since mine just doesn't make my coffee hot enough. Still gonna read the article tho.

I hit the BB&B....They didn't have the newest ss model of the Eco Fill in stock yet...They did have one that had a ss bottom with a plastic lid....I passed on that and will order the latest and greatest all ss online....I picked up the 4 pack of plastic Eco Fill....BPA free but like I said earlier....May not leech BPAs but other chemicals are leeched....I got 'em to make due until I get the all ss....they did have 50 packs of filters for $5 + some change...again I passed...Hopefully these rinse out a little easier and in my thinking the chemicals that do leech will be gone after a few cups.....not like the fresh bullet every time with a k-cup....

That's the one I was after and it was available thru BB&B....As you see it's an Eko not Eco Fill...Eco Fill has one in store at $15 that looks pretty good as well....I passed thinking the Eko was 100% SS....both have plastic lids

I'm planning on having a large stock of wood on the porch by tomorrow. It is not in my agenda to go out in the frigid temps Mon and Tues unless I absolutely have to.Thank goodness it's only 2 days.

Speaking of firewood....I dropped in to see an old friend last night.....On hard times yada yada....Needed firewood for his shop....Told him I had some if he wanted it....Asked if I could drop it off today.....I cut it....split it....stacked it....offered it for free....Needless too say I didn't drop sheet off today...Not like he doesn't have a truck sitting there
