Wuzz, carbs are my biggest problem...I am a carb junkie

Me too, Bov! :( I am able to take it off fast on a no carb diet but, as soon as I eat carbs again, the weight will come right back. I do well going to something that I am able to stick with like a diabetic diet. 3 meals and 3 healthy snacks per day. Never get hungry so very easy to avoid the "bad" stuff. That's what works well for us anyway.

I find that most of the quick weight loss diets work well temporarily but, not long term for me.

Good luck with that summons, Fran. I hope that all goes well for you.

How's the wife doing,Wuzz?.

It's the good day, bad day thing Fran. We were hoping to get the port out by the first of the year but since she's had some problems they're going to leave it in for a while. She'll be on oral chemo for several years. We're just doing the best we can but for the most part she's feeling ok.

Oh sheet Fran! Who'd you pizz off now?

Oh I love me sum carbs alright. I can do without them for long periods of time but they kinda start slipping back in. After a couple of months without them my weight stabilizes and I feel great. It takes a while for it to come back so I try to stop at a point and keep it there. I'm powerless over holidaze though lol. And tonight is cake night.....

Sorry to know your wife is going thru chemo, Wuzz, but glad that today was an ok day.

I'm my own worst enemy by eating late at night. I cook just for me so I have no schedule, and the dang grocery store keeps putting tater chips on sale  The tummy has seen an extra lb or two since we've been lucky enough not to have snow to shovel yet this year.

Oh no! Not tater chips!! lol.

She's been through the iv stuff and radiation. Just trying to keep it at bay at this point. The medical team just isn't confident enough to take the port out yet. I'm an 8 year survivor. The side effects of treatment stay with you a lot longer than the cancer. I remember when it was a death sentence. Thank God that's not necessarily the case anymore.

I so agree with you! It is amazing at how much better I feel when I reduce or go without carbs. You really do notice how bad they make you feel once you start eating them again. Key for me is to eat the good carbs in the right portions and always balance them out with lean protein. Never eat them alone. So, have a cup full of almonds with that hunk of cake and all will be well

We must be boring Fran to tears with all of this diet talk :p

I can easily fall into the night eating mode myself, Bov. Sometimes I will go all day without eating ( very bad to do, I know) and then have dinner plus plenty of snacks at night. It really is hard when you don't have a schedule to follow.

I am so sorry to hear what you both have and are going through. Glad to know that you are both doing well at the moment though. Sometimes we have to just take it one day at a time. My prayers and thoughts go out to both of you.
