My mom had another heart attack today. The stent that the put in back in March clogged up. She did okay through the 4 hour surgery but, had a stroke when they were taking her off the table. She is on a ventilator as she was no longer able to breathe.

Not sure what even tomorrow will bring. Please keep us in your thoughts.

I'm digging the carpet....looks great!!

Got all Mom's gutters cleaned out and went on to the pressure washing...One little section requires getting on the roof about 25 feet up....That's where I start....I'm up there just starting to wash when I hit a couple of red wasps looking to nest....Yepp busted right on the dang ear...25 feet up and near the edge on top of that....I soldiered on and got the back all washed up....The front remains but that takes about half what the back takes...Piece broke on the washer when putting it it so.....Yeah gotta fix that as well....

My deepest sympathies Salem,,,,My thoughts and prayers will be with you and your family....Dee

So...I got tired of getting the stink eye every time I asked my pharmacist if I could get a couple of the 180ml liquid medicine bottles! That's 100 times I won't ask again

Sorry, all. I should have popped in here earlier.

I should have been more clear last night but, I was so exhausted and upset. The DR thought my mom had a stroke because he was talking to her after the surgery and all was going fine until he went to roll her off the operating table onto the gurney. At that point she stopped talking to him and was not able to breathe. They had to intubate her but, she was able to move all of her limbs and respond to commands by squeezing the Drs hand. So, it looked very likely that she had a stroke.

They did a CT scan but, the neurologist did not get to read it until late last night. After she read it, she reported that there was nothing significant there to indicate a stroke.

They slowly weaned her off the ventilator and now she is breathing on her own and is able to speak. Absolutely amazing woman she is.

They did send her down for an MRI a few hours ago as something besides the HA obviously did happen during surgery. They just don't know what. She seems to have her mental capacity in tact and be very alert to me.

One of the nurses that was in the OR stopped by her CVICU room tonight to see her. Told us that she came very close to not pulling through the surgery last night. It took the efforts of 2 teams to pull her through it. So, I feel sure that she did suffer a lot of trauma. For now I will be happy as hell that it was not a stroke as we originally feared.

Probably will not see much of me for the next few days. Once she gets moved to a regular room, my sisters and I will take shifts at the hospital. The nursing staff at this one leaves much to be desired and it will be necessary for us to be there and oversee her care.

I will come back to update when I am able to. As my mom always says, no news is good news :)

Thank all of you for thoughts and prayers. They all mean a lot to me!
