Another day of errands for me too, Tracy. Bank, round 2 at the Tax Assessor's Office (all straightened out now) and the grocery store.
Tomorrow is a meeting with Katie's accountant on an IRS fubar from 2014's tax return. When Katie's sister died in 2012, she inherited 400+ shares of AT&T stock. She had the estate sell the stock and gift her the cash. Katie owes the capital gains on the difference in stock price from the date of Liz's death to the day the stock was sold. The IRS is trying to fleece her on the total sales amount...I don't think so!!

I got the samurai price set on just getting my money back....Got some interest but still got the Sammy...Had to make a run to cut the beach grass Sunday night into Monday....Got the Clorox to wash my house and got grass waiting here as well.....Hoping to sell the Sammy soon and then upgrade to a Macbook Air....I could do that today but it would put my pocket change in an uncomfortable area for me....Hot as Hades outside and severe storms are forecast.....

Rain for us tomorrow I think. The IRS deal is in the hands of the accountant now, but looks like my research was right in what is owed. IRS said $1700 owed, my research says more like $250, accountant agreed. Called the estate lawyer to see if they missed sending us the proper 1099 form, and the 2014 return will be amended.

Long day trying to straighten out property taxes on the new car,and the car I sold. At least the property taxes on the house were in order and I got them paid.
Top that off with ex getting back out today, burning up my phone to the point where I just turned it off. Yup, fireworks over me selling MY car. Told him to take his drama to someone who gives a fek...and good luck finding someone who does

Just dropping in to say hello. GS and son did not come up yet. I think that my son felt an urgency to get here. I am scheduled to have GS for the week next week anyway. Once I convinced son that he would be safe to wait until he brings GS this weekend, he decided to wait. Thank goodness because it has been one heck of a week and it's not over yet.
My oldest sister is in PA on a long ago scheduled trip. My mom WAS here until last night when she made me take her home. Hell would not have her until I finally gave in and took her back to her house. 9 PM last night. Still 100 degrees outside and I was at her house unloading her and all of her oxygen equipment.
First thing this morning I called her to find that her phone was not working.
I sent a text to her neighbor asking them to please go check. I was on my way but it would take me about 20 minutes to get there. No response. Put my emergency flashers on and hauled azz.Pulled into her driveway to find the neighbor coming out of her house. Smiling saying oh, we got the phone working
I am still peeved that they didn't bother to reply so that I would at least know that they were aware and checking on her. Maybe it's just me but, good grief! I explained in the message, no phone, no life alert.
Ugh. That's how my week has been going. Hoping you guys have had a better one
I've stocked up some, Fran. Still would like to get another 500ml of nic in the freezer tho.
Oh Salem...I bet you were frantic during that drive! I would have been peeved about not getting a call back too!!
Meeting with the ex went better than expected today, but I will never let my guard down with him again. Made it clear that his problems are his, not mine or Katie's. We want to be left in peace. Friendly visits occasionally, but I don't be asking me to drive him everywhere. There are jobs out there, and public transport. He took it fairly well, but I'm sure I'll have to enforce these rules a few times before he understands not to mistake my kindness for weakness anymore.

Thanks for the reassurance, Bov. Been feeling a little guilty all day. I was a little rude as I jumped out of my car. They are really nice people and they really don't have to do anything but, seems to me that common sense would tell them that they should reply and let me know that they were headed over to check on her. The things that were running through my mind during the drive were not pleasant.
My mom said that they may have panicked like I did and just rushed over to her house before replying to me. She has cable phone. Her modem needed to be reset so the wife did spend a bit of time on the phone with Charter before figuring that out. I made sure that my mom knew that is the first thing to try if she ever loses phone service again.
Her Life Alert service offers a fall detection alert that we can add to her lanyard. If she were to fall and be knocked unconscious (unable to press the button), it would auto call life alert for her. I am calling to order it first thing in the morning. I know that she is more comfortable in her own home but, wish she would ave stayed here with me until my sister got back. Sure would have made me feel a lot better.

Unc D.....has a nice car....trades it for another.....then another....couldn't afford the first....gets his groceries from the local church's food bank thingy....pulls out in front of someone and they KO his dumbazz....knowing what I know I pass an 8k job to my buddy with clear direction to make sure the 1K deductible is secured....now the car is finished and good old Unc D asks my Mom to borrow the 1K....Like.....Whaaaattt????? Bet this.....his azz is gonna get fired up really soon.....
Unc H....well he's driving down the road.....sees a car up the road turning around.....I know him.....he's all "What is that guy doing????" Well there was a full grown Southern Yellow Pine laying across the whole dang road....It was broad daylight and Hell yeah he totaled his car.....Retired from the railroad and whining he can't afford a new car.....again.......Whaaaattttt??????
Me???? I was watching Legends of the West waiting for the sun to go down sos I could go to work without melting....She's 5 degrees shy of Satan's Kitchen around these parts.....Told Mom I'd give respective Uncs each other's phone number sos they could cry on each other's shoulder....Those pine trees are big as Hell...Never one time in my 56 years on the planet do you offer to help my Mom and then ask to borrow money....That will get your damn azz knocked the fekk out.....Just about sick of stoopid MFers
