I'm sorry you had to restore, but glad you got it fixed, Fran.

Mark, you made my day...Thank you! My new mail gentleman didn't want to give it too me, said he was enjoying the smell :D

I fixed my chainsaw today and got that damn shrub tree cut down. I just wish I'd tried to fix the chainsaw before I went after the shrub with a hatchet! Got the yard mowed too...I'm pooped!

Katie and I took a chill pill on the porch swing this evening...

Coarse grind, about 6 oz volume of coffee grinds per 32 oz of water. Mix it a little with a wooden spoon, or for lazy like me pour in a little water, add the grinds, then finish filling with water.

Let it sit in a carafe 12 hours, covered with saran wrap, on the kitchen counter.

Filter the resulting liquid, into a second container. Slowly pouring it through a paper filter in a drip coffee maker would work fine.

The resulting liquid can be stored in the fridge up to 2 weeks. It will be low acid, high flavor. Cut it with 1 part water to one or two parts of the coffee extract.

It makes a great hot coffee (microwave the coffee + water for a couple minutes to heat it), or iced coffee.

A normal store "breakfast blend". coarse ground, works well.

(I can send some coarse next time if you would like to try it.)

Thank you! I'll try a store bought coarse grind first to see if I like it. I have a fear of keeping anything with caffeine in the fridge...last thing I need is Katie on caffeine! She doesn't know anymore what she's eating or drinking, if it's in the fridge it's fair game

Caffeinated Katie sounds like she could be a handful! Eek! Hide the brew!

Indeed she is...ask me how I know!!

First order of business today was a trip to DHS/Elder Care. I now have a social worker, and her first order of business was contacting Elder Protective Services. That doesn't mean EPS will do anything right now (since there is no active abuse with the ex out of the home) but the all important documentation paper trail has begun. I'll be getting with the social worker later this week to work on getting some in home help so that I don't have to be "on duty" 24/7. Katie has Long Term Care insurance that will partially cover in home, as well as facility care.

Hey ALL !!!

Thank you ALL so much for the Birthday wishes and I apologize for taking a week to say Thanks

We got in Tuesday evening. I sat down later that night to write this... and fell asleep. I finally got time to finish this.

We were in Oceanside Ca, north of San Diego, in a Penthouse Condo on the beach. There were 10 of us, the whole family except 2 nephews that had to work. We had too much fun, too much food and not enough time. For my Bday my sister the caterer made me a batch of Melomakarona cookies... My Favorite !!!!

Glad you enjoyed your birthday Wharf !!!!

Got 4 480ml bottles mixed earlier....They won't last as long as one would think....Gonna be a sad day next time I order flavor and mix....no RTS....FRIG!!!!!!!!! New Kubota tires arrived today....They SEXY!!! Scored an old wooden swing set and positioned it over the septic tank...Plan is to raise it just enough to slide a sheet of OSB under it......the swing will provide a lift point for the come a long....then out comes the Snap On air hammer to make big chunks small...OSB to keep the chunks outta the tank....That's all gonna be one Hell of an affair just by itself...Then I get to fab metal to support the new concrete....gonna weld a grid of 3/8 round bar 1 and 3/4 or so above the sheet to make the sheet rigid and keep the new slab good and strong...adding a port above the tank drain and another port over the holding area behind the baffle in case it ever needs pumping out again...Bet this....I don't want any more problemohhs outta that freekin tank.....

Was growing my hair back out....throwing in the towel and getting a cut tomorrow at 6....

The dryer has cut off so guess who's folding clothes.....Kill me now...
