Fran I hope and pray things go well for Hubs !!!
Yeah....Cool Stat story Wharf.....My first ever guitar was a Mexican Stat...It was black with a black pick guard...It was an entry level Strat and before China got involved.....Well American Stats went
through the roof and with China involved and Mexico outta the pic the Mexican versions also went through the roof...So Hell Yeah I sold it and went too Jackson....Then owned by Grover Jackson of Charvel...Mine is a Randy Rhodes RR3....The RR models go from 1 to 5....At that time it was Japan or America producing all Jacksons and mine is Japanese....Now China is involved there as well and the price shot through the roof but I kept mine....It to is an all black model and makes the Marshall scream with no effects boxes of any kind....My new ESP also runs no effects...Both have the exact same Seymore Duncan pickups....dang old Jackson got purchased by Fender...
When I first saw the SC truck I decided to pass....Over 300 miles from home...That stack of Benjamins was gonna disappear and I had to get Unk to throw me a grand so I wouldn't be dead broke....I went ahead and looked it all over though...12 years I had a 24 valve Dodge with computer controlled injection....I installed one injection pump at a cost of 1400 for the pump...That whole 12 years I kicked myself for not researching better and buying a 12 valve....Nowadays junky 12s disappear off the Craigs in a flash....I decided to drive it and all seemed well...interior and mechanical are 100%....Automatic trannys can't live long behind a Cummins and this one was a much stronger 5-speed.....12 valve 5-speed is considered in the diesel world as the Holy Grail....The paint could be better but I could only find one ping of a dent anywhere....I tried every negotiation tactic in the book and saved not one red cent....The guy did take a liking to the Evil One and filled the
tank....It's toting a 4:10 ratio rear gear as does my Taco....Tis rather extreme but both manage....I'd estimate nearly 400 miles so far and it took 43 to fill it back up and that's at 2:90 a gallon....That big old beast beats the Taco in the fuel mileage department....ain't that crazy....I was a little skeptical as the truck only had 98k on the mileage and I told myself to make sure and watch the miles go up when I drove it...hell Yeah I forgot but in the ad I remember the last two numbers were 57....heinz....So I purchased it and left Mom's Accord there....100 miles up the road I remember the miles thing and look at it....last two numbers were.....57...I had a boy you done faked up moment and sulked for a while....I look back and it's 67....I gotta believe 2 of my guardian angels made me look when it was on 57....Nothing I've seen since indicates the mileage isn't 100% correct...I almost walked from both of my trucks.....Old Dodge has been turned up a shade and when you call for it she will fly....I'm pretty happy truck wise....600+ miles in front of me tomorrow as I gotta go back and trailer the Accord home...I've been beat physically and mentally the last few days and really look forward to getting back with Mom's car and turning the page....If I only had a dollar for every time I entered Dodge Ram 3500 in the Craig's search engine....
