I'd love to have it LD. Way to go on the compressor. That's great. I would never use poison on an animal. When I was growing up we had critters killing our chickens and set live traps for them. Ended up with a bunch of coons, an owl, and even a skunk. The skunk got caught in the pump house and that place stunk for the rest of time. We used to lock friends that came over when I was in jr hi. They'de be yelling let me out while we were laughing our butts off.

Fran I';m a Gateway man. I have 3 here and the new one never gets turned off. Been on dang near the whole time I've owned it. Asus makes the best parts and probably the best pcs but the good ones are expensive. They make a cheap laptop but it's the slowest thing I ever used. For my money it's a Gateway. This one was under 500 bucks with Windows 7 I won't use Windows 8. Anyway it's HDMI got 2 tb. 8gigs of ram. been a damn good pc. Toshibas as LD said are good. Never liked HP nor their tvs. Their TVs in the old days were one of the most expensive and where I got into repairing tvs. Back then I had tvs everywhere something like 150 of them now it's computers and parts everywhere.

Do you have a link to that Gateway,5c?

Fran you can get them anywhere that sells computers. Best buy is where I got mine. My daughters laptop is a Gateway. But like I said before Toshiba, Asus, etc. I won't have a Dell but many people like them. It's just a personal thing like I'll never own a Mac either.

Here's a couple:
This ones $550.00 has an I-5 processor

Gateway - Desktop Computer - 8 GB Memory - 1 TB Hard Drive
Model: DX4870 SKU: 1309965816
Intel Core i5 i5-3330 3 GHz - DVD-Writer - Wireless LAN - Bluetooth - Windows 8 - HDMI
Gateway Gateway DX4870 Desktop Comput DX4870 - Best Buy

But this one has an I-7 processor which is much better and if I was looking this would be my choice. It's $679.99

Model: M32ADUS034S SKU: 9658246
Windows 8.1 64-bit
Technical details: 4th Gen Intel® Core™ i7 processor; 8GB memory; 1TB hard drive
Special features: HDMI output; wireless keyboard and

Asus Desktop Intel Core i7 8GB Memory 2TB Hard Drive M32ADUS006O - Best Buy
For the money this is a sweet fast pc. It's only 129 bucks more but has a bigger processor and a 2 tb hard drive. The other one is only 1 tb Hdd and a wireless keyboard and mouse.

Most of them come with windows 8 now but you can configure it very easily to look just like windows 7 so you would have the benefits of 8 with the look of 7.

Well we celebrated the big win with an order of Sesame Chicken and Pork Fried Rice...

NCDOA > State Surplus Property After that loads click on sealed bids...They're kinda light on stuff this month..Likely 3/4 of State employees have the month off...The best deals are in the walk in buy it now store....Loaded down with stuff...but I know little about computers so no help there....

Five mentioned never having a Mac...Neither have I...Now get this...Ya'll know I got a new phone Sunday...Samsung Galaxy S3 for 149 and it's mine for better or worse...Bill is 35 plus tax on Boost and I'm good with Boost for a long while now...Chick I know was looking at my phone and asked too see it...Asked if it was a Galaxy 5...Dismissed it as junk when told it was a 3..Then went too beechin' about her 200 a month bill...I remember when the new I Phone hit a few months back...She and her daughter were waiting for Verizon too open...One thing is for sure...The latest and the greatest is also gonna be the most expensive...I think those IPhones were 200 with a 2 year contract...Myself I'm damn happy with the 3 and the 35 per...

Fran, I don't know much about computers. Mine bit the dust a few months back and DH helped me pick one out. I was able to get a refurbished on Ebay for $200 with a 1 year warranty and it is a pretty good one.

I am sure that someone here will be able to help you though. Good luck :)

Morning folks :)

(((Salem)))

Dee, there are some folks who have to always have the latest greatest, no matter the cost! I have a Tracfone that doesn't even connect to the web.

Fran, that's a decent rig you linked, but I think it's quite a bit over priced for only coming with 4gb of memory installed. It's upgradable to 16, but most computers come with 8gb already installed. The video board is integrated into the motherboard...not necessarily a bad thing if you don't ever plan to upgrade it, but if it ever dies that means the whole rig will have to be sent off to have it fixed. I don't see a PCI-E slot for you to be able to install a new video card and disable the built in one in your Bios.

In general, I think you can find better for that kind of money. If you are thinking of ordering online, try newegg.com. I've bought from them for years, good prices, great customer service.

Hi Salem!!!!!!!! Merry Christmas to you and yours!!!!!!!!

I have no comments on the Asus...You want a new compressor I'm your guy...Actually the Satellite Series by Toshiba is a laptop...Thought that's what you were looking for...

An old friend is a major penny pincher and loves some apps on his phone...He does good research before spending...He went with a Verizon no contract deal and a S3 for 99 bucks..That's why i went S3...Good enough for him it's way more than I require...They could have given me 25 S3s and I wouldn't have gone Verizon though....

Now it's credit Union time so I can pay for that compressor....don't think my $30 balance is gonna cover it.....

That old head cold still has a grip....Had a bout of drainage and the runny nose around dawn...Laying down became impossible...Got a serious case of the yawns ATM...

Spike had a sebaceous cyst...He had one previously on his back leg...This one was high on his right side and in the front half of his body...I took care of the one on his leg back in the summer though at the time I thought a briar had likely got him and left it infected...After his recent vet trips they had me watching for the lump to change...Eventually it did but opened up like the one on his leg had done...Some fatty acid is lacking in dry dog food and causes a clogged pore that leads to a sebaceous cyst....most are benign...The acid can be replaced by raw meat, Krill or Coconut Oil...The Coconut was on hand and that's what we'll be using...The cyst was healing nicely as of last night when I checked and made sure I'd gotten the gunk outta it...My info said clean regularly to prevent bacteria from causing an infection...It looks all good and old Spike is dreaming of chasing kitties ATM....
