There you have it. Looks like all other food flavorings that we use in ejuice to me. Silver Cloud's Strawberry, Natural Flavor Blend contains propylene glycol, water, ethyl alcohol & natural flavor.

We have always been told "no extracts" like McCormick and such that you buy in the stores, so I was intrigued and surprised when the vendor said extract! Googled, and this is what I found. :)

I made my very first DIY with McCormicks. I knew not to use the ones that contained oil such as their vanilla but, the ones that I did use were weak with same ingredients as the more concentrated flavors that I use for DIY now.

Good afternoon all. I've used a couple of extracts from the grocery. Mainly vanilla after reading the ingredients and a couple of Lorans cake flavorings. After all the things I've inhaled that are known to be bad, cigarettes, asbestos, chemicals in adhesives to name a few. I doubt there's enough of anything harmful in the amounts I use to come anywhere near those. Nothing short of fresh air is good to inhale really and that's hard to find. For me it's all about harm reduction. I'm not recommending it for anyone else. Just how I feel about it. Something unknown on the label or known to be harmful I put it back.

Where is that darn triple like button? ;)

Happy to join you all here :)

Hi Q! Welcome :)

Sleep tight Fran :)

Hope the weather co operates for you tomorrow Dee!

Wharf, it's a good thing that plenty of folk like city living...otherwise our beloved rural areas wouldn't be so...rural ;)

Amen to that, Bov! thats the thing about Charleston. It was awesome in the late 70s and 80s but, too many people visit and decide to move their now. Way overcrowded.

Who just scored 120MLs of FW Vanilla Custard....Whooped up a nice Marshall Amplification thermal shirt while I was ahhhh purchasing.....Threw in some FW Bavarian just for the stockpile....Watch me throw 240MLs of Vanilla Custard together....Heck I might fire it up too 480MLs....

:thumb:

Oooops......... That was supposed to be ~

A blink of the eye

Suburbia Boy all the way. The supermarket is less that 2 minutes away, yet you wouldn't know from my neighborhood .

I was starting to think that you meant to borrow LDs stink eye phrase. We have large grocery 4 miles away. That was a must!

I was thinking more along the line of " don't blink or you will miss it" Then that what we love about it here. my closest neighbor in 1/2 mile either way. We both have jobs where we talk a lot during the day. So when we are done we are done. Nice to sit on the porch and watch the birds and deer. Funny we always took vacation into the city as the campground where much busier than home. So we figured what was the point of camping when you live in the forest. Let go buy some culture.

The kids cant find jobs so we may end up moving some day grand kids and all. Guess they would need to look, to try lol i can see their point too.

Welcome Q :toast: a drink for you

good night all

Good morning everyone!!!

Getting ready to take the little one to the doctors in a few. Popped in to say my hellos, and hope you all have a wonderful day!

There was a bit of ice here this morning, which prompted a 90 minute delay for the schools. No matter, she's not going until cleared by doctor. Poor kid, pink eye in both eyes, congestion and low grade fever. Will keep you posted!

I mixed up a very small (10mls) batch of the extract. Although it's early, my initial thoughts are that it makes for a very thin juice. Will definitely have to play around with it before giving any final thoughts. Stay tuned! I did 30/70 pg/vg and 20% extract as I've heard it's lighter on flavor. Perhaps if I just add some to either Capella's Sweet Strawberry or TFAs Ripe Strawberry I'll have a winner? Like I said, stay tuned!!!! :)

908 hope the baby girls feel better real soon....On the bug lingering for 6/8 weeks I feel your pain....I'd shake and steep a bit before any additions too the juice...May make a winner on it's own..

I've got some experience extracting "essential oils" from plants using iso alcohol...I read into extracting nicotine from tobacco in case a ban came into effect....Bottom line I'm pretty sure you could use PG to extract about any flavor you want....

Good morning Fran! A bit warmer here too, and our freezing rain turned into plain rain. Just a yucky day, but at least not sub zero temps!!!

Thank you ElDee for the well wishes and as always your input. I will do just as you say and shake and sit for awhile before doing anything else....you've never steered me wrong yet! (none of you have for that matter) I have some Capellas Vanilla Custard (i think) and that sounds good too, might try mixing up some of that as well while I'm at it! :)

Baby girl has pink eye(s), a cold, and an ear infection. Poor things a hot little mess! He has her returning to school on Wednesday. She and I will chill at home together for another day! Sounds good to me.......except for the part where I have to listen to her favorite Kids Bop CD over and over until my ears bleed. Yeah, that CD needs to disappear for awhile. ;) lol

I'm off to make some chicken nuggets for the wee one for lunch. Back a bit later!

Awe, sorry to hear about the little one. That sounds awful :( I bet that is a very thin mix since the base to your flavoring is PG and alcohol. You may need to increase your VG a bit. I agree with LD about letting it steep a few days before adding more flavor. I do hope that your daughter is better soon.

I've taken to giving my juice a hot water bath before bottling...Usually 240MLs in a 1000ML beaker...I place that over the drain in a hot water bath and stir it up...Not sure if PG evaporates at the rate of ISO so I just bring it up too temp while stirring and then bottle...Then I shake the beejesus outta the bottle and back into the hot bath with the cap on tight...I got all my lab glassware at RTS...Run it under good hot water and it comes out sparkling...Preheating the VG will also make mixing a little easier....especially when it's 5* dang degrees....

We got thunder and rain....never accurate phone says 47* so likely 52* and feels like dang time for the shorts and flops....

Managed to nail that Coil Master before the pre-order only now in effect...Got email saying they were taking off today and would ship Wednesday...Hey I'm good with that but given the circumstances if Coil Master were my company I wouldn't be sleeping much and double dang sure wouldn't be taking a holiday...Page one from the El Dee Hustle or Die series says strike while the fire is HOT!!!

Speaking of such it's time to see if we can get that ding dang new light too quit flooding the truck....and some propane would be nice as well...

Give Maddie lots of hugs from us, Tracy

I agree with the masses...let it steep and see what happens. I was sure that new Tres Leches flavoring was a loser, but after a week's steep I'm loving it! I only made a 15ml test batch, but went ahead and mixed a 30ml batch to get started steeping. I tossed a dab of FA coconut in the new batch just to punch it up a bit :)

We had some freezing precip early, but just rainy slop now. I think the rest of the week is supposed to be partly to mostly sunny...I'll take it! Please Dear Lord, let Katie get this cast removed Friday!!

Aw thank you Salem! The little one's fever is creeping up as night time approaches. (101.4) I suppose it gets worse before it gets better, at least that's how it seems to go.

ElDee, I can't wait to hear your thoughts on the Coil Master, as my nails and I are very interested! haha I have the most trouble when wrapping that wire around the posts. If not careful, my nails can wreck the coil in no time. Not sure how they work, as I've not googled or you tubed it yet, but if it's helpful there....I'm on it!!!!

Bov, Prayers that Katies cast comes OFF this Friday!!! <3 Hang in there girl. (((hugs)))

Miss Maddie says "fank you" for all the hugs! ;)
