Good morning.
Bov, we bought one of those a few years ago. The box had wheels on it. When I went to take it out, I felt the same as you. Good grief. But we sure love the mattress.
We even have a topper memory gel for the Futon for when it is used as a bed and even that sleeps great.

Enjoy today friends and flip the switch on.:)

Good morning, all.

Bov, I bet that bed is going to feel awesome after sleeping on a futon~! Will probably help your back out tremendously ;)

Fran, I agree about the condensed milk. It can be very nasty tasting if you use too much. Kind of like sour, curdled milk. best to start very low and move up from there.

Hope everyone has a great day :)

Morning folks :)

Salem, I wasn't sleeping on a futon mattress, just using the frame, thank goodness! I had (have) a DIY memory foam mattress...6" of lux firm foam, 3"layer of Talaly latex, and 2" of memory foam. Basically the same way any memory foam mattress is made. I probably should have saved my money on the new "real" mattress I just ordered, as my old one is sleeping just fine on the floor  At least I can roll it up by layers to move it to the basement!

My wife and i were still sleeping on a water bed till a few years ago. The pain docs had a cow when they found out. We ended up getting a good (expensive crap) mattress and it sure made a difference. We had a memory pad topper on it for a bit but took it off and found we did better without that memory foam. The funny thing is that we have the mattress in the water bed frame because of not wanting to loose the headboard.

O....M....G....!!! Do it yourself just beat the sheet outa me today! Got the bed frame put together and the new mattress on it tho :)

Old mattress parts rolled, bungee corded and in the basement, bed linens washed, but not put on yet. I'm so tired that I just tossed a quilt over the mattress right now and will nap on top of that. This bed frame sits a lot lower to the floor, so my little low rider dog is happy about that! He's up on it now doing the "doggie break dance!"

It does indeed sound like you got a whopping today Bovinia. It's too bad you didn't have help. I felt a bit the same when I put our Ikea 7' tall wardrobe together this past week.
Hope you sleep great on it.

Hearing about your dog gave me an instant smile. I can just imagine it. :)

It's my reading time, so off I go.
Good night friends.

Doh, I remember when you were researching that memory foam. I think that you sent me a link to one of the places that you found. We were going to make beds for 3 dogs with it but, I ended up getting a good deal on some decent dog beds.

Nothing wrong with having a portable mattress that is easy to move ;)

Oly, we got an expensive innerspring mattress before our Tempurpedic. They just don't make them the way that they used to. The new "no flip" design really made them all suck IMO After having my TP bed for the last 5 years, I am not sure that I could ever sleep on an innerspring again. The nights in hotels are rough!

I remember linking the foam place for you Salem. It is where I ordered all the layers, but I've had it for about 8 years now. And I agree the newer no flip inner springs are awful.

Ate dinner and caught a second wind. Got the linens all on the bed...no easy task getting the pad and fitted sheet on with this new frame that a third of the mattress sits down into  All showered and looking forward to bedtime!
