Morning folks :)

Good for you Dee! I've always been a firm believer in being my own activist when it comes to Drs and healthcare. I have no problem firing a Dr who treats me like he's God and I don't know my own body! They work for us, we hire them to do a job! I'm really happy to hear that Gilead approved the full 24 weeks. I'm sure you've read up on the meds, and will probably feel like hammered sheet while taking them...just remember that the goal is the end results

It's also music to my ears that Spike's spot looks like it's healing!

Good afternoon, all.

Hey LD, you may already know this. I had to take my moms dog to the doc over the years and he kept getting these weird tumor looking spots. The vet said that they were just fatty deposits. Kind of like how people get skin tags. Poor guy did end up having malignant tumor :( but, the vet told us to watch for growth. The one that he had that was malignant, got extremely large quick. Thought that info may help you. All of the other dogs have had the fatty tumors as well. They are not a problem.

Nanner pancake? That does not sound too good to me but, I just don't enjoy banana vapes. I know that many people do.

Fran, have you ever tried cinnapear? I bet that you would like it.

ETA- LD, not sure what med you are taking but, I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers that you do well with the meds and recover quickly :) You don't even want to get me started on docs and quality of medical care :-x I spend half my life researching medical issues it seems. not much faith at all in docs these days.

Salem, I've never cared for nanner vapes either, this one caught me by surprise! Mixed half and half with my BS Cream, the nanner is not the dominant flavor, jusr enough to know it's there.

Chase has a lot of the "old man" bumps too, plus several fatty lipomas on his abdomen. So far, they are just an annoyance.

Bov I asked for 24 got scripted for 8 and approved for 8....Then told he didn't think 8 was enough....Gilead says 12~24....Appointment tomorrow

Salem I'd seen nothing about those spots....Pretty sure Spike's is gonna be OK as it's smaller today...Call from BanField today saying Spike's contract was nearly up...I'd mentioned a couple posts back I was suspicious that was the case...hell they even wanted to schedule a teeth cleaning.....I would think an oral examination would be the deciding factor on whether Spike's teeth needed cleaning....not a push for $35 per month for another year....My medicine is Harvoni....From that you can figure the rest out....

I got PV specific KSMs....One works dang fine on the ipv D2....Both KSMs work fine on the ipv 4S...That odd KSM on the D2 is No Beuno.....burns at the lowest setting....Watts don't matter it's burning....Not sure what's up with that so I just don't min n match

Hustle my azz off finishing a job sos I can get another in.....next job had a check malfunction where the ex lien holder was on the check....new check coming....thats gotta clear their bank....Safety Break Time !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Morning folks :)

Dee, they try to get me to do Chase's teeth every year too, but I don't. Every couple of years has always been fine for any of the fur kids I've had.

I must have misunderstood about your meds, I just want you to get all you need to be healthy!

Katie's Dr appt went fine yesterday. Dr cut her high blood pressure med dose in half, and scheduled a doppler of her carotid arteries just to be sure they aren't building up plaque. She tried to downplay her trip to the ER, telling him that she just fell...I told him the real deal. She was none too happy with me when he said he wanted the carotid test

Good afternoon everyone!

ElDee, I too hope you get those meds for all the time recommended. Give em h*ll bud! (((Hugs)))

Especially in older dogs, I'd be concerned about the frequency of anesthesia vs dental care. Every couple years sounds better to me with home care in between.

I wanted to be more productive today but guess what? Ain't happenin! I took a nap instead!!! :p

Have a great day everyone!

My life lately. First a bit of background. Many years ago (around 94 i think) a member of a unit i was in had a daughter that had leukemia. They held a Bone marrow donor drive where many of us registered and provided information that would be put into a database. Well, several months ago i was contacted by the DoD Bone Marrow donor program as a possible match for someone in need. I ended up giving them blood for further testing. I was notified that I was an "excellent match" for a 9 year old boy with ACUTE LYMPHOBLASTIC LEUKEMIA. They set up a phone call that lasted an hour to make sure i had all the information i could get to make an informed decision about Peripheral blood stem cell (PBSC) donation. I asked my company, which has less then 100 employees, if they had anything set up for helping defray the days off needed. I was tapped out on my paid time off so i figured it wouldn't hurt to ask. Well they came back with 4 days of donated PTO.

I then went back in for another blood draw and non-invasive physical. They did and EKG, chest X-Ray, 3 pages of blood test and another medical history. Well, i passed. The NP told me i am really healthy (surprise, surprise, surprise) and i'm good to go for the donation. Next i'll go in for the first injection where they'll make sure i'm not allergic to the filgrastim which will increase my normal production of the necessary blood components. After 5 injections they will recover the stem cells via a process that will take the blood out filter the stem cells then put the blood back. Since i have less then great veins they will be using a central line.

I am so psyched about this opportunity.
