Ya'll North of me be careful.....OK?? I'd strongly suggest a form of emergency heat!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We got a little snow from the git....then sleet....then freezing rain....then snow again......Now they are calling for high winds....Not what I wanted to hear at all.....The trees will be hitting the ground if the wind kicks up....hearing the roads are solid sheets of ice....Like I could get to the road!!! Let's hope the chainsaw will start without headaches.....
Wharf in theory that tick remover it swell.....Trouble is 9 outta ten times you're gonna have a tick that's too small to fit into that rig....I've heard coat them with dish detergent and spin 'em with your finger....That works about like dripping juice from a cartridge....I've got a Tick Key I grabbed at the "alternative" farm store....So far and there have been many, many times the tick was to small to fit the key...
My Presa was nearby two days ago....no mail yesterday and I seriously doubt there will be any today....

Our snow just started, not even coated the ground yet, but we've moved into the 8-12" category now. If I'm not mistaken, Tracy's furnace is like ours...and can be operated manually if power goes out. Hunkering today, dig out tomorrow.

It's still coming down here!!! At the rate of 2-3 inches per hour. It's freakin NUTS!
The cars look like marshmallows lining the streets. Unreal!
I'm not sure about overriding my furnace, but we do have kerosene for the kerosene heater, and a generator to run the refrigerator. Propane for the grill to cook with.
One thing good about being inland is that the air is cold and dry so it's a lighter, fluffier snow. The coast is losing power with much less snow because it's warmer and heavier.
That's likely how tomorrow's removal will go as it warms up some.
I will let you know our totals when it ends. It's CRAZY!

Ack for you Easterners hope things stay under control. I've watched some reports of people playing and having fun. Not too bad here in the Midwest, we had 4" earlier in the week but partly sunny and 32 now.
We had a chilly weekend here in the deep south. Supposed to freeze a little tonight but by Tue we'll be about 70 with two feet of sunshine.
It was 70 degrees on Christmas and we thought this might be the year we dodged snow.

Fighting with a screaming headache today so I haven't been outside. Looks like we have around 3-ish inches right now. Like Tracy said, it's looks like a nice powdery snow. Cleanup tomorrow, Katie can just keep right on beechin!
Wow the moon is just rising in the Northeast great big and full and orange , pretty.
