Weatherman says 107** index later today....This heat has me so worn down I'm hitting the rack earlier and earlier.....Consequently getting up earlier and earlier as well....This trend must not continue.....

As far as roasting goes I hope to avoid all that....My hope is to find something managable at one of the "nicer" groceries....That may or not be possible....I see recipes at 5/1....then it's 7/1....All over the map....I want my mix concentrated for a 50% reduction after....Plan on using reverse osmosis filtered for all cold brewing....I have plenty.....Good solid week or more of duties here at the farm....past that I plan a day of shopping for regular old stuff....Sam's Club and such...Wanna hit the Bed Bath and Beyond to pick up some stainless cups for the Keurig....I know they got grinders and wanna see a couple in person and may or not buy one there...I think it was Cuisinart that had one with a big old hopper.....that may or not be a good brand.....Kitchen items??? Not my field of expertise and I'm sure Snap On doesn't offer that type of grinder....In other kitchen news I ditched my microwave....Got a little convection oven and I'm much more pleased with the results....I'm on a never ending diet it seems and I grill enough for 3/4 days....reheat in the convection or most times just eat leftovers at room temp....6"3' and 190lbs presently....Life ain't easy but no freekin' way I give up or in.....Now if I could cut back on the Marie's 1000 island just a shade......

If I'm too busy for roasting I've been pretty happy with basic supermarket own-brand whole bean, a Breakfast Blend version -- BB tends to be a lighter, sweeter (not additives, just a function of the bean varieties and roasting level) roast, does well cold brewed. I keep a couple bags of Tops (local grocery chain) breakfast blend on hand for those times.

Offer's still open if you want to try some of my roasted beans :) I regularly send little 3 or 4 ounce sets out to folks. For grinds, I send them whole bean, coarse (cold brew or french press), medium (drip), or medium/fine ( K cup). DIY kawveee :)

You're sounding pretty lean to me, Dee. I'm yo-yo'ing in this heat. Lost quite a few lbs, but gained a few back. I guess it's the nature of the beast at my age, and stage of discipline (or lack there of). I was hoping to bounce back to my usual energy after finishing the antibiotics last week, but my energy is still barely above sleep, and more sleep.

Maybe I do need some of Mark's coffee!

And LOL, Fran

Mark that's a very gracious offer....Give me a few days to get my stuff sorted out and I'll take you up on it...

I believe the lighter the roast the more caffeine....BELIEVE !! Hey I like caffeine.....We got a Sam's Club....I have a card though expired....I'm gonna renew....There's a Costco in Raleigh but I don't have a card there...I figured since they sell in bulk maybe they would have an azz load of beans.....MAYBE....House brand would be fine and I do prefer light roasts though most I find say medium roast....

Speaking of energy....This dang heat zaps that....Makes the back of my legs tired....I got my diet all out of whack taking the Harvoni treatment....Lost 40lbs post treatment....on purpose nothing related....On that subject I can be tested for results the end of the month....Three hundred and some for that test...SONOFABEECH!!!!!!!!!!!! Top that with it being the second one of those tests straight outta my pocket...190 now and goal of 180 and then stay below 190 if possible...Life it ain't easy

All this coffee talk sounds wonderful but complicated. (?)
I use medium roast through the Keurig (store brand donut shop blend) each morning, then Dunkin donuts iced coffee on work mornings. A medium lasts me until lunch.
I don't know a thing about roasting or grinding. :( But I'm enjoying the read!!! (And I'm sure it's wonderful mark!)
Dunkin just advertised a cold brew....made me think of you all. :)

Hope everyone is Vaping happy!!!!

It's a hobby, like diy eliquids :)

If you have a glass pitcher, and a piece of cheesecloth or fine steel mesh strainer, you have all it takes to make cold brew coffee. Honestly, after steeping you could put it through a drip coffee pot filter just fine.

If you have a refillable k cup, I've sent folks a medium-fine grind which works well in that, though I prefer the cold brew heated in a microwave :)

Morning folks :)

Make it a mass email please, Salem!!

My bottle of Yam I Am got here yesterday, all the reviews say let it steep at least a week...oh the torture!! I may have to sneak a few drops into my dripper ;)

You and/or Tracy may have better luck doing that. I only have a few of your emails :)
