Hi all! We got four of the 7 concrete support columns for the deck extension done over the weekend -- it's starting to look like something is going there :)

If anyone needs a true beater mod, you might want to look at the Geekvape AEGIS. Daniel from DJLsb dropped it from 3 stories, then ran over it in his car, and it kept working fine.

Still pulling double duty in the shop....Good thing is I should be paid in a few days...heat index has been well over 100* for the last 2 weeks....Still rounding up parts to service the engine on my little boat...well it's little compared with the other boat anyways....Mom's septic tank was still acting up so I called the guy who had pumped it previously....his wife informed me of his death....Last go round I helped him slide the lid off the tank and he knocked a brick in showering us both with sheety water...I washed then and there with the hose....he laughed....I'm still alive....Well another dude took over so he came out Saturday....Long/short half the top of the tank is now busted and sitting at the bottom of the tank....My shop sits @ 100 feet from the tank and I retreated in there to calm down....Dude presented me with a bill for $200 after pumping out the tank through the gaping hole he created...I told him just a minute and went back inside the shop and wrote a bill for $2000 to pour a new lid...He didn't think that was funny and was even less amused when he saw my Springfield poking out of my pocket...trust I was well past having enough and told him to get too getting....He did and so far I haven't seen any cops......So on top of a full plate now I gotta pour a new top on the tank....46 inches wide and 9 feet 3 and 1/4 inches long...Not to mention the two huge pieces still sitting atop the tank that I gotta make magically disappear....Dude raised it up and dropped it and it was made to slide....Heavy ain't the word for it....Tree roots have over taken the leach field creating this problemohh so that has gotta be solved as well....Gonna be plenty of chainsaw action along with some filling and installing new leach pipes....Seriously considering an upgrade in the tractor department as I gotta have some type of relief....I got an offer on my tractor pending me finding another...The new tractor will have a quick attach back hoe and a front loader....So much for being outta debt...There's plenty of stuff I can do with a back hoe though and if I'm lucky I may even turn a buck or three with it....Still........

Hi all!
The seventh (final) concrete support pad/column got poured yesterday. The front has three columns on 16" diameter pads at the bottom, while the back is 4 columns on 14" pads. I wanted to go 4 and 4 but there was a big root at one of the middle spots so we just upsized the other three supports.

I just did the main deck lumber order from one of the big box stores, along with some subfloor plywood and misc. boards for the bunkhouse. My wallet is now a bit lighter, but I used a 10% discount (always available for Lowes). I went home delivery -- easier than renting a truck (with a bunch of 16' boards), and I noted they needed to pick good lumber - they're actually pretty decent if you give them the warning.

Maybe I'll get a chance to start the real build this weekend, though we're also looking at catching the local Renassiance Festival.

Good luck with the deck plans Mark and enjoy the fair!

I hope the steroid shot helps hubs, Fran.

Woo hoo Moon! I just love vape Mail!
I didn't upgrade the firmware for my minikin 2 as it seemed mostly temp control related. I really am digging that mod!

ElDee I hope you're taking a break in this stifling heat we are having.

Vaca next week....gotta get through today first! Happy Fri-yay all!!!

Good morning,Tracy:) How's your Uncle doing?

He's doing very well, thanks for asking Fran! :)
He's adjusted to his meds and has picked a primary physician. He's been to see the eye doctor as well who is unsure if he will regain full sight in his left eye or not. He also said in all the years he's been practicing, he's NEVER seen a case like my uncles.....it's like looking at two eyeballs on the same face that belong to two entirely different people. Unc says it's been about 20+ years since he's been to an eye doc, but they've never said that before now. Must be due to the effects of the stroke???
