With the threat of rain from a tropical system heading this way I was double timing it trying to get that pipe laid and covered with dirt....I used a deeper trench with more gravel than needed and a filter sock over the pipe...Best news I've heard since that dude busted the septic tank lid....The pipe is covered with dirt!!! There's still a sheet ton of dirt from the longest trench due to all the gravel fill....I gotta move that to my stock pile and then finish off all the clay sand from a few weeks back...Then add the dirt on top and smooth everything over...Grass seed will follow in the fall....It's already hot here and grass roots grow through the winter so if you want grass to last plant in the fall....I added copper sulfate to the only area where roots are present. That should keep the roots at bay...I also added a port in the line where copper sulfate can be added and flushed into the pipe....I've had Mom's shower running out in a flower bed for months to keep the septic tank from flowing into the pipe....That worked well and gonna send the shower back to the tank tomorrow....All the finish grading is tractor riding and I like that thing about as good as my motorcycle so not really work IMO....Still all that bull sheet took a toll...Hoping the monsoon does hit as predicted....I need some time off...

Glad to hear the tumor is shrinking....not so good on the blood count....I hope that improves.....

Last couple of weeks my head has been down working...I had a couple of issues adding bad thoughts to my mind....I'm just gonna get it off my chest....Years back I sold my Dad's old boat and purchased another boat in a 50% partnership with my Sis' family....Boat was then valued at 17K and I found it for 11.5K so the deal was right....I only entered the partnership so my Niece would have the experiences I did as a kid....All was good except when things needed done it always fell right on me....Tires for the trailer....upkeep....etc....It's still a nice 21 foot center console offshore boat with a 150hp Mercury....My 1/2 has long been paid....Then I sold Mom's car and gave the all the money to Sis for Niece to purchase her first car....Mom gave me the title to Dad's 1979 Bronco to compensate....Mom also gave me the Bronco when Sis borrowed money to purchase the land where she built her house...So I inherited the damn thing twice....Unk called me Saturday and asked why Sis called him wanting info on another boat when I would obviously be the one to ask.....Bottom line they purchased another boat without letting me know a damn thing about it.....Niece still has no car....I gotta believe the money from Mom's car is blown....Why else be secretive.....Only good thing about it was I did the math on my 1/2 ownership boat and made the offer to buy it out.....Seems accepted and Sis is looking for the title atm...I was also willing to receive the same amount offered for my share.....The boat is still being made and new ones are 45~50k....I really didn't wanna get any deeper with the bank but my choices are limited and I feel I made the best one...Trust if Niece doesn't get the car of her dreams Hell to pay is putting it lightly.....I just smiled and kept my mouth shut when finally informed......Then a friend whom I've helped thousands of times over the years had a bump up with his truck.....Another mutual friend stabbed him and told me about him getting it fixed...Asked why he didn't bring it to me and replied I was to expensive....Knowing where he got it fixed and the thousands of times I helped him for free I gotta think there's another reason....Hoping the shop that did fix it is willing to help him in the future cause round here he's doubly fekked....So with all the work I also had sheet heavy on my mind earlier in the week.....I've dealt with that now and moved on....Seems anymore there's no loyalty....That's sad and I never intend to compromise my values....Dee

Good news about the tumor, Fran. I'm sorry Hubs' blood count was too low for his chemo.

Sounds like you and your wife are having a wonderful time, Mark! Enjoy!!

Yep, Tracy...I'm glad I wasn't in Ct for the storm too.

Dee, it's a sad truth that even family will screw you over :( I'm glad you got that off your chest...and glad your septic job is almost finished. You need some mental and physical down time!

Enjoy, Mark! Sound like a lot of fun :)

Made an offer on a house today...yall cross all your crossables! A little 650sq ft, 1bd bungalow in the Historic District here in Sumter. Gorgeous hardwood floors, all appliances stay. Small yard with a shed in the back.

Crossables crossed Bov!!! I love it and it looks just perfect for you and Chase!
All my best!

Middle dd grad party tomorrow. 25 or so guests. Should be fun!

So sick of rain and gloominess up here I could just spit! I do believe the first full day of no rain in the forecast is Wednesday. Nothing is getting done outside and I just hate rushing through it all. It’s something I enjoy very much and look forward to after each dreadful winter. I could kick mother nature’s azz! Where’s she at????

Good luck with the offer !!!

Best thing about that house ??? No snow shovel required !!!

Finally got all the trench dirt moved out of the way for final grading....Mixed the trench dirt with a pile of topsoil I had in stock....Gonna touch up the clay/sand fill with a little more clay/sand and then add a good layer of topsoil over the whole shooting match....Then grass seed....I know I said Fall but Mom can't wait....Back in the day I ran drains from the gutters and basement into the creek....I tied them all together in the yard with a catch basin/drain box....With all the new fill very close to the catch basin I'm digging it up so I can raise it 2.5 inches...Pick and shovel so as not to damage the lines running into and out of it....I sat the catch basin in concrete so there's another gallon of sweat....Cuzzo came by late and picked up scrap metal from the shop...According to Cuzzo there was over a hundred worth of scrap....His truck was loaded down....I hope it is over a hundred and I'm happy it's gone....I haven't watched the weather but I know a tropical depression was on the way....We have had some pretty dang good storms....Not sure if the full impact of the depression is here yet or not.....I've had to run for cover on the tractor several times....

Congrats to DD, Tracy!! Half Moon had his college grad party last Sunday...where does the time go?!?!

Dee, I don't think there is ever any rest unless we just make time for it. I hope you'll do that soon.

Beautiful sunset, Mark!

Thank you all for the luck!! Hoping it passes FHA inspection hurdles...IF the owner accepts my offer :)
