Hi all,

Started using my ecig about 2.5 weeks ago............I've cleaned the clearomizer 2ce now after watching Youtube video and 'dry burning'...and it's worked...but now it's leaking onto the battery all the time.

Is it time to throw it out? Are they disposable like that....just throw them out?
I thought they would last until the wicks burned off or something lol (novice) there's so much more to this vaping.....different ecigs...parts, batteries, juice PG/VG....

I just thought I'd go online and buy one and it would last forever n I just keep filling it up with juice....nothing about this cleaning it and replacing parts...much less throwing them out!

I am using another CE4 now and it seems a bit better...although dryer on the throat.

It seems like I can't get a good hit like I was getting the first week I got it no matter what I do.:(

A CE4 is OK to start with...but sooner or later (actually sooner) you will go to a clearo/tank with a changeable coil unit. Everyone has their favorite, mine being the original Evod or the myriad Protank series. The ability to simply replace the coil unit or re-build the coil will make it more enjoyable for you. Over a couple of years I have explored several dozen different devices before landing on my favorites...but I will probably explore more...who knows. Good luck.

For something that lasts forever you have to get a rebuildable and a roll of kanthal resistance wire; every few weeks or months you wrap a new coil; every few days or weeks, you change the wick;

the wicks tend to leak/flood the more you use them.

If it's a topcoil to avoid the flooding/leaking onto the battery, just store it upright when not in use.

So I posted a question (or 2)....at least I think I did?

I don't know how to see if anyone's responded....or regardless...just how to find it.

I got a starter eGo Twist on Aug 26 and started vaping.

I've cleaned the CE4 since and it worked fine for a while and then started leaking into the battery...a lot!! within seconds of puffing! So I got a cpl spare CE4s.

2nd CE4 couldn't get juice down the sides....like the silicone 'nipple' was up tight against the sides...
finally managed to get some in there poking pin on the side for space...realllly tight draw...real pain trying to fill!

3rd CE4...can't get a draw on 2 different batteries.....but will work on eGO "Apollo?" if I have it slightly loosened on the battery...(this doesn't help on the other two.)

I noticed neither of them have "air holes"? like my original had (like square spaces on the very bottom)....and no little tiny holes either like the pix on google.

The best CE4 I had was the one that came in the kit.

Any thoughts? Besides telling me to upgrade from a CE4? lol

Is in inevitable that these things have to be thrown out? or can they be cleaned and reused over and over and over? I know they're not 'rebuildable'. But when I decided to start vaping I just thought I'd buy one...and just keep using it forever...and only have to refill juice....like those non-juice ones they came out with years ago...and all you had to do was keep buying the little fake .... tips that screwed on the end of the battery.

Is the leaking a sure sign to throw them out?
Why don't these other ones have holes and can work with one out of 3 batteries?

My god why is this so complicated!

Thanks.

PS...praps a PM might help me find my posts :p

the ce4's are usually disposable; you eventually have to throw them away and buy new ones.

meanwhile while you are using it, the coil is getting gunked and the wicking likely to flood more and more.

the upgrade from that one with replaceable atomizer head (also called 'coil'); then you just replace the coil instead of throwing away the whole tank.

a lot of us rewick and/or recoil the coil heads instead of throwing them away.

if you are buying your eliquid , its so expensive its kind of a waste to vape it on a coil that's heavily used anyway so you end up wanting to put in a fresh coil.

the upgrade to the replaceable coil tank, is a rebuildable tank which has like screws and nuts and places to tie down the coil properly instead of trying to recoil a tiny replacement coil head.

then there are the so called 'drippers' which nowadays are probably too big to be called drippers anymore because they basically can take more than enough eliquid with one squirt to last longer than a regular cigarette. the good thing about these drippers or RDAs is you basically are in direct control of the wicking; its like manual transmissioin, whereas a tank system is like automatic transmission which often is in the wrong gear- sometimes too dry, sometimes flooding.

**Disclaimer*** really long, long winded...potentially boring and frustrating to read :p

holy moly! thanks everyone...Just logged in and I was still thinking no one had responded! I just fooled around up top on the tabs and saw drop down menu for "what's new" then saw "my posts"!! and here we go! Responses!
Thanks!

A friend bought that ecig with the "fake .... tips"/(cartomizers) (lol) at a gas station out of town and didn't like it so gave it to me. This was about 4 years ago. It came with spare cartos. and I did use a cpl of them after they were used up....But, I had no idea how they worked...or that there was even a such thing as ejuice....and hence had no idea they could be refilled. It died/wouldn't charge anymore/instructions were in Chinese and very very poor English translation...it went in the garbage...and I kept smoking cigarettes.

Only learned about these ecigs about a month ago seeing a guy at work using one.....again, thought it was the only one like it out there...went online to get one...and blam! there is sooooo many options....and so much to learn about ecigs!! Not so easy to just go online and buy "an ecig".

Anyways, that's how out-of-the-loop I am.

I have since realized the mouth piece for the clearo that came with my kit doesn't fit any of the spares I bought...it's too long...then I realized the mouth pieces for the spares have been cut off to fit...it's totally obvious someone took a knife or something and cut off the bottoms b/c it's uneven etc.

So, I assume the lady I bought them off of here in town just went on ebay and bought some crappy cheap ones in bulk and is selling them at the reg. price I'd pay buying them online from an actual ecig dealer.

Here's the full story, if I haven't completely lost you....or bored you to death! I'm just so excited to talk to someone(s) that knows about this stuff!! No one in my life got a clue...including me!

So...after using my starter kit a few days...I realized I need a back up battery....I found this lady in town (friend of a friend) (who doesn't even use ecigs)...(or apparently know anything about them either)

She doesn't sell batteries separate so I had to buy a full ecig from her, including chrgr, for $40.00. Same as my online eGO Twist kit (34.99) ...except the battery is half the size and it didn't come with a free 10ml juice. lol ripped off!

Got home...couldn't fill clearo...rubber nipple up tight against the wall of tank.....called her, she gave me another clearo.

The next day...fully charged new spare battery only lasted few hours!! My Twist lasts about 2 days.....Called her, complained....she gave me another whole ecig with a MEDIUM size eGO battery (minus charger)...and threw in another spare clearo.

Now I got sm, med, lg batteries, 2 chargers, and 5 cleros....(4 from her) those 4 cleros do not have the square spaces on the bottom of them (or any little holes) and the mouth piece has been (obviously) cut off. I almost pop a vein trying to get a drag off of any of them...and can't use my original b/c I've cleaned it twice (dry burning) and now it leaks heavily over the battery. (garbage?)

The next day my room mate's dog chewed one charger in half (luckily NOT the one I got online) so I went and bought 2 more chargers off of her.

The next day...I went to charge all 3 dead batteries...one of the ones I got from her, the light stays green...the other one, the light stays red.....my charger for my Twist blinks until fully charged.

This all within 4 days!

I know I have to get something online...I know all the pieces/parts I have accumulated are crap! In Labrador, NL....there's nowhere to get anything ecig related....unless from someone in their home who are "bootlegging" it LOL

I didn't want to wait for a battery to come....so I stupidly and hastily bought one from this random person.

I feel like I should just start all over....

Could someone just tell me what to buy please!

That will work...last....easy to clean/fix...affordable....and good value for $.

This has been utter bs. since I started vaping Aug 26. (Or Sept. 1st...because the first few days were AWESOME!)

There is far too much to choose from when you don't know what you're doing/what to get...I've exhausted googling and YouTube for the past 2 weeks...and am just so mind boggled.

If you've made it this far in reading this post...I both apologize!!...and thank you!!!! :D

HI, sorry you having so much trouble getting your Vapeing off the ground. I've only had a little time at it few months, but I'll try to help with what I've learned. The spinner battery you have is a great start, I would suggest another one like it but make sure it's at least an 1100mah or even a1600 mah if they have one. The mah (Milli amp hour) tells you how much power the battery stores, so greater mah the longer it will operate before needing charging. If you spend alot of time at the computer a nice pass through battery would work well. These type have the charge (usb) plug in the bottom of the battery and you can Vape on it while it's plugged in to charge. I'm not sure but I think they make a Spinner pass through. I like the Clearomizers that look and feel like the CE4 you started with but not the disposable kind. I have 2 different options for you on this. Plastic clearo= GS-H2 small 2 ml,and GS-H5 4ml, both are bottom fill with replaceable coil heads (be sure to order spares) remember all coils need proper cleaning and dry burning and sadly don't last forever. If you like Citrus or Cinnamon flavors in your ejuice you need a glass tank like a Pro Tank mini, or if you have the funds I hear that the Nautilus mini with the new BVC coils are wonderful. For the battery chargers I'm not sure since I've bought all my batteries with chargers included and have had no problem with any of them. I hope these suggestions at least give you a starting point to check out some of these items. I have bought most of my gear on ebay and at fast tech (Google it) but fast tech takes forever. Good luck and keep on Vapeing on. :2c: :)
