Lol...actually, I honestly doubt it's so "novel". Probably been mentioned many times before but I didn't see it in a search.
Anyway, for what it's worth, I was getting a fairly hard draw on a mildly used Boge Carto after filling it. (Yes, I did my usual letting it sit for a while, blowing through the center hole, etc, like I always do, and could see just fine through it).
Then I happened to see a plain old "Pipe Cleaner" laying on my desk. You know, one of those things with a thin wire covered with "fuzz"? (Not even sure where it came from). So I said to myself...hmmmmm. :glare:
I ran it through the center hole, and the hole became a lot cleaner with a much better "view" through it than I had before. And the difference in the draw was amazing. Who would of thought a Pipe Cleaner could be used to, um, clean out a "pipe"? :D
BTW...this was a pretty thin Pipe Cleaner. (They come in various thicknesses). A bigger one might get stuck.

Of course, a heavily used Carto will probably require a much more thorough cleaning method (or maybe even a toss in the garbage), but this worked amazingly well to get that center hole nice and clean.
Just thought I'd pass it along for the heck of it.
And for those who thought reading this post was a waste of time (which it probably was), sorry.
This is one of the reasons I'm called "thenut". :)

I cleaned one with the larger standard ones and it got stuck and pulled the entire center out so if you are kinda curious on how they look inside-go on and try it. I didn't know they came in smaller sizes. Good tip. I had also saw someone on you tube using the dental floss for dentures that has a hardened end to it like an eyelet. It seemed to work also.

Another good idea, but dental floss for dentures?? I thought you just threw them in a cup with some polident or something!! Live and learn. I'll probably find out more in a few years, though. :)
