Not banning their stuff would mean they are favoring US manufacturers. Anyway, they do seem to have some sort of customer base so I would assume someone would buy the company if they didn't make it through.
I guess this might breed some entertaining lawsuits.

An off-the wall thought -analogs use has been determined to cause many health issues including cancer and death. A life raft exists (personal vaporizers using nicotine) and now the FDA wants to yank it away. Wonder if some ingenious law student could put a case together that would convict the FDA of murder?

No more crazy than the lady suing McDonalds for getting burnt with hot coffee because no one told her it was hot!

Funny, I was thinking along those same lines, though I don't think "murder" would actually fly in court. They have no proof that e-cigs are more harmful than cigarettes - quite the opposite, actually. But without access to e-cigs, I will surely go back to analogs which are a known killer. "Reckless Endangerment" comes to mind.

Now everyone is going to know I have a crazy thing about Urban Legends, but, I'm sorry, it is totally a pet peeve of mine.

That case really wasn't so crazy. The coffee was too hot and the woman had to get skin grafts. It's pretty gruesome. Also not often talked about is that part of her award was lessened because of the fact that she was partially to blame.

More alarmingly, McDonalds *knew* its coffee was too hot, and had settled hundreds of other burn cases, but without taking steps to fix the problem. That's just negligent.

@ Slea

I thought the Winnebago story was verified by Snopes.....shows ya that even on the internet things can be falsified :D:D

Okay, this I do all the time:

Me:Oh yeah, I saw that on mythbusters.

Friend: And did they say it was feasible.

Me:Um... Can't remember. All I can remember is SEEING it on Mythbusters.

Seriously, I can remember what legends they covered, but never, ever, what the results were.

Hi taz

We live in a world where toothpicks have instruction manuals and a bag of peanuts carries the warning, 'may contain nuts'. There's nothing left to say...

...and to quote Steven Wright:

"I bought a box of dehydrated water, but I didn't know what to add"

and

" I bought a box of animal crackers, the box said don't eat if seal is broken. I opened the box and...sure enough..."

Count us in.

ECS is a U.S. supplier and will be opening sites in France and Mexico over the next 30 days. The American market is our mainstay and we have a big interest in keeping this market open.

Let me know what we need to do to join the frey.

Hey... email Antoinette (NYCSublimeGirl) with Bloog Planet and tell her you are interested. As soon as info is available, she will forward all of that on. Just note that for now, make sure your marketing is squeeky clean (no health/quitting claims).

Your website states, "to produce and market these devices. E-CigaretteSales.com is one of those companies."
on this page.

You're PRODUCING these devices? If you are producing them, that would make sense as to why you're replacement batteries are so expensive. But, I didn't (and still don't) think any American company is producing these batteries.

Absolutely.

Health claims are FDA catnip. As much as I'd love to post (all over our sites) that I quit a 2pack-a-day habit and can now walk up two flights of stairs (some days, three - but no one likes a showoff) without falling to my knees and screaming for people I never met...I know I can't, so I don't.

BTW The lawsuit filed by Smoking Everywhere against the FDA is at:

Thanks for that, Bill -- very encouraging! Let's all continue to provide ammo. Send short (yes, 10 seconds or less!) videos to Igetcha. Write or call your legislators. Get everyone you can to buy an e-cig. I vape everywhere, just hoping people will ask questions and want more info.

Whoa...methinks the lady (might?) protest too much -

The quote from our site is:

"Another unique thing about e-cigarettes is that unlike the tobacco industry, which is dominated by a few large corporations (Altria, which owns Philip Morris, produces half the cigarettes in the US), some smaller firms have been able to produce and market these devices. E-CigaretteSales.com is one of those companies."

E-CigaretteSales.com isn't a manufacturer, however we DO market the e-cigs with offices in several countries. While our business was started in the US, we are actually operating in several international markets. Each with their own PITA requirements and government guidelines.

We see a whole host of issues related to international freight forwarding, custom house brokerage and dealing with federal agencies that your average US shipper doesn't. Our arrangements with Chinese manufacturers allow us to order in bulk and have tighter QA controls. Our 510s are OEM from Joyetech and we sell them all over the world.

We've LONG been a proponant of reverse engineering these devices (a la Lexus vs. Mercedes?) with a US apple pie seal of approval. No offense to the screwdriver folks, but part of the attraction to me has always been NOT to stand out in a crowd. Nothing would make me happier than for this whole FDA mess to go away so a US manufacturer and lab could make e-cigs here at home.

That gratutitous pontification aside, you are absolutely correct that the line is misleading at best and I will remove it right away. (It's good to be the webmaster...)

We're on the same side kiddo.

Hey... we are ALL in the same boat. We all know what is TRUE... Just have to leave it up to others to find out for themselves. Maybe this is what truly makes us all so faithful to our e-cigs... no one tells us it will have the affect on us it does... and then it does! God I love my ecig. Where was it 15 years ago when I picked up my first smoke!?!

PS: Glad to have you Webby... the more suppliers the merrier!
