I've had this less than a month and the numbers are starting to wear off from being in my pocket. Is there anyway to prevent this other than carefully masking and clear coating it ? Perhaps a coat of quality automotive wax every few days ?? I really dislike the idea of having to etch my own marks in or have to use the meter every time I want to adjust

I have three, all older than yours, and have had no problems.
Do you have the chrome? All of mine are rubberized finish, except the dial, of course. But the numbers on on the body.

Yes mine is the chrome / stainless. I noticed it does have some type of clear coat from the factory. It is very thin and starts wearing off within a few days. I think I may get some clear packing tape and cover the numbers. May mask it and clear coat it also , will post pics when done
Sounds like some sort of clear coating might be the trick. Maybe just clear nail polish? They are enamels, so might last a long time...
