offering $85 and only from sellers in the US, if he met the price of an astron and international post i might go for it

Most folks will only buy unicorns if they can steal them for less/way less than what they cost. In part why I still own all of my true unicorns bought before I got into Reos, those that I never used, a couple that I only tried out, and all of them that I will never use again.

I don't see my 3 Nuppin's as unicorns when compared to my others. But they are not going anywhere as long as I own at least 3 Reos... and I don't see ever only owning 3 Reos and not using them daily. ;)

Thanks Papa! I hadn't thought of doing that with the kanthal. I'm going to do that now while I have a bit of time.
I have faith in you, you can do it. I like Papa & FB's idea too. I am going to try it also. I have had my share of over fussing on that downward leg. Last week I had one turn loose on me. Luckily it was the positive wire that snapped. Probably from me twisting it over to get the bottom leg in place. Now I do the bottom/neg. leg first.

Spydro,

That's my WTB ad that doffy is referencing... I'm not sure if I'm within the group of "folks" you speak of although my offer is fair and exactly the original sales price plus shipping to cover. Is it a Unicorn? I don't think so... Do I want to try one? Of course I do!

My REOs and Cyclones are my ADV at this moment and if the Nuppin' makes it any better then I'll be in Hog Heaven! I'm glad you finally made it over to ReoVille I still remember seeing your frequent posts and how much you were in love with ByLeo and GP products!

Now if anyone has a Nuppin' they'd allow me to "steal" from them please holler and sssshhhh don't tell Spydro!!!

It would seem a lot of people are having a hard time building their Nuppin' atty's of late. I personally watched this video pdib made and studied the coil extensively. Once you build the coil the same as he has it in the video, it is easier to mount than a standard coil on any other atty... I would suggest you make the coil exactly the same as his, otherwise you will have problems with the atty and more than likely have hot legs and other problems...

That's how I do it also. I saw the video before I got mine, I haven't tried any other way!

I love this atty!!!

18mm is much better for a REO than the 22mm atties I have, imho...
That beauty belongs anywhere you want to post it! Fabulous work Custom!

For me it is like the grub screw just passes the wire by. I think the bending it back and practice ideas will help. Will watch the video as well. Thanks guys,...
I really like these attys a lot.

Using just a straight piece of wire hold the wire on the outside of the Nuppin next to screw so the bottom of the wire is below the hole and above the o ring, that's how far it should go in the hole.

Now take the screw all the way out and then insert the wire, it should go down that far, Insert the screw and tighten it down it should hold fine. I've never had problem with the screw not holding the 29 gauge wire I use.

Sometimes mine will catch on the screw and not go down all the way, the slight angle inwards helps me miss the screw.

Hadn't seen that video... but I coil mine just about opposite without pre-forming (just a snip to the deck leg length for coil height). Insert the center post leg with the coil vertical and rotate the other leg down into the deck hole. Though a quite similar mount concept and movement, I find this reverse method easier for mounting springy legged coils.

I actually watched the vid right before I sat down to build my Nuppin and fashioned my coil as close to pdibs as I could get. I'm thinking my negative lead was a tad to short because I'd get both the negative and positive leads caught but then when I went to adjust the coil position the negative lead popped out everytime. I must have been catching the very tip of the negative lead. That's the only thing I can figure. I'm going to try again now with longer leads.

Aren't ya'll glad you didn't have to sit through a movie of me building 2 dual coil attys in one session? [emoji23][emoji23][emoji23]

You need to thank my wife for that [emoji23][emoji23][emoji23]

Well, I got her built! I wasn't sure about coil height so went as high as my legs would allow which took the coils to where they're just peeking over the bottom of the AFC's. I wound up with .4 ohm, was shooting for .5-.6, but I think the legs being shorter than in my other atties caused the difference. So I'll have to vape her for a few days and see how it goes. The vape is a little warmer than I prefer right now but we'll see if that settles a bit as the coils age.

My comments were in general, only referencing Doffy's post as a lead in to make them and not directed at you personally. And they were made with 20+ years of buying and selling experience on line.

As I said in my post I don't consider the Nuppin' a true unicorn with 300 of them made... rather a limited issue. Peter said no more were planned, but as well as they sold he could offer another run if he wanted to. I do consider my 1 of 1 prototype and 1 of 3 ProVari's, the GP PAPS TiX #11 still NIB that is a 1 of 99 issued true unicorns because there is no question at all that there will never be anymore of them made (per those who made them that were/are personal friends). As for fair pricing, whether a true unicorn or a limited production, pricing is up to the owner and what the market will bear. After all, you can't just go buy them at the local B&M. So you'll either have to pay to play as a buyer, or not play at all. It's just supply and demand, and short supply on unicorns/limited editions almost always means the price goes up, not down.

All 36+ of my APV's and their endless atty's were a progression in my vaping. At the time bought and used the different gear in turn was the gear that worked the best for me at that time. They all did it very well until I found something better, or in some cases decided to go in a different direction. IE I went back to just mechs and left VV/VW behind. The newest kids on the block are what gets it done best now days, and in fact gets it done more perfectly for my vaping style than any of the gear before them. So a few of my Reos (LP's and Woodies) and a few of the way too many atty's I have for them are my ADM's. For atty's my Nuppin's rule the roost but I am also still using the Cyclones, and I still have some of my RM2's and RM3's on backup Reos. The rest of the 20+ bf atty's are in reserve. What is different this time is I think I have finally found MY gear in the Reos and some of their bf atty's, and I have no interest at all in looking for any other gear to replace them. There was other gear I wanted to buy to try, but I don't feel they could replace the Reos so I won't bother. I do want some different Reos than some of those that I bought though. That a product of buying 9 Reos too fast and before I found my niche with them.

All the rest of my gear is long retired but still here because I've never sold any of my gear yet. So they are backups I guess for if I ever decide to revisit any of them for old times sake.
