I have been playing with builds in my nuppin today also. After a week with my first build I really got tired of refilling my bottle. I was ripping thru 6 ml before lunch. I decided to tone down my build a little to give the batteries and juice a break[emoji47] I was running a dual twisted 28 at .35 and the atty was getting pretty hot. coils were set a little low but was getting a really smooth but hot vape but not much TH.

I think I'm satisfied with my third build...i put a pair of 8 wrap 28 gauge at .75 ohm and set em a little higher and I'm getting a really nice vape. a lot cooler and plenty of TH and a little dryer. Doesn't seem like I'm drinking juice thru a straw like I was.

Really digging this atty....think I got a ways to go to find my sweet spot with it though.

I'm running dual 28's at about .5 in a Nuppin', but here's the thing - I've got them at different heights, one with the center of the coil even with the bottom of its air hole, the other with its center even with the top of its hole.

I built them identical, including the legs, so the height difference results in slightly different distances from the deck edge, too. Found it by accident by not checking to see if the placement was symmetrical before vaping. The vape was good and I noticed the difference between the coils when I rewicked so I made them identical, but didn't like the vape as much - tried moving them both up and down relative to the holes, but couldn't get to where I was before. I then adjusted one of them down and, voila, back to the happy place of rich, balance vapor, flavour, and TH.

I vaped it like this for a fair few days, thinking I should really look for other variables to accomplish the same effect, when I then read a post by pdib explaining that he employs a similar asymmetrical positioning in his builds for the Nuppin'. Well, that was good enough for me and I've kept it like that.

Could be one of those freaky alignment of the moon one-off builds that just works, but I'm going to play with some other atties to see if there's something to this.

I did a little bit of a playing last night since I was building some micro coils for a gal pal in FL to try out RxW in her Kayfun's. She uses 24G at .52-.53 ohm for cotton in them, so I dug through my stuff and found some 24 (and some 26). Built them with 3mm RxW and left one installed on a still NIB KFL+ I had never used. I used one a little way back in my ProVari days, didn't really care for it much so the second one never got used. She has something like 6 KF's and they are the only atty's she uses. So she ought to be surprised when the package gets there and instead of just coils she discover's that she now has another KFL+ to add to her collection all set up with RxW and ready to fill with her joose.

Anyway, while at it I built a 24G micro coil for one of my Nuppin's with 3mm RxW that came out at .58 ohms. A day later... 24G is not my thing for the new joose I'm trying out... it vapes better in another Nuppin/RxW 28G build at around the same ohms.

Here's one pic fresh out of the mix. She's pretty black! It's just a liver of sulfur patina bottle I bought offline that you mix a teaspoon with hot water and it instantly turns it black/ charcoal! This bottle was like $10 and it's 29mL. That will last for years of patina for me! More pics in a few and hopefully buy some clearcoat tomorrow and be able to use it!

Dumb newbie question...does anyone use the Nuppin in a single coil configure? Does it still give great flavor or is there a better atty that I might am for? I hoping to get a new Woodvil and will be able to use a LP atty for the first time. I have a SP Mini and a Woodvil 490 from the last run. I use RM2 and Divo on those two. Just need some advice from the experts on what I should look for next. Thanks.

Pretty cool, Mark. How durable do you think the finish will be? Planning on sealing it?
I'm hoping it will be durable once I'm done with it. Thinking clear coat? Maybe 10 coats? Haha as many as I can without making it stick out any thicker. I have to grab clear coat tomorrow I thought I had some but don't.. well see I guess!

You can use a single coil in the Nuppin. I would suggest a twisted single though. The Nuppin is incredibly versatile. Most can tell you I was a small Atty (Cyclone, RM2, Divo) single coil kinds gal till I bought my Nuppins...I would encourage you to try dual coil. I was amazed how easy it is to set up the Nuppin with dual coils. However, yes...the Nuppin is awesome for single coil too. At least you would have an Atty you can experiment with!

Yes it's great for singles, only RBA I rate higher for singles is the Chalice that cost twice as much.

I'm thinking heat is going to be your enemy. The Nuppin' can run hot, depending on build and vape style, but at least the afc is an outer ring. JetMac, for instance burned the finish off of his RM5 afc with his patented stove coils.

Keep us updated, brother.

Well it's a good thing I've been running .9 duals.. I use my Nuppin on my mini for work and I want the battery to last. Granted I have the new AW 18500 1200's that CAN handle 18 amps. I just dont even get close to pushing that. So hopefully I won't have a problem... we shall see. This "liver of sulfur" is top notch and it's what a lot of people use to get close to a black finish. Will def keep y'all updated. I guess if I ever happen to drop my ohms ill throw on my SS sleeve, or my other extra copper sleeve!

After much of a lifetime crossing these bridges in hobbies I am compelled to bring up safety. Like with most chemicals/compounds used to alter metals it will be toxic at some level, so all precautions should be followed. A quick check of the MSDS for it will point them out and possibly how it will react to high heat. So multiple "sealing in" coats of a clear high temperature finish should be a given since in use it could have possible toxic inhalants with any level of heat reacting with it. Kind of like the exotic wood animal calls that I made for over 50 years when all woods have natural toxins (some in high exhibition grade woods especially are deadly), and those extra toxins induced by decay preservatives/mold inhibitors, insect ......ants, etc by the sawyer, jobber and others before it ever gets in your hands. So my calls got 21 coats of finishes over 21 days inside and out that I developed and made myself from pure ingredients rather than using over the counter finishes that are often laced with toxins of their own you have no control over. It took a lot of abuse and damage to breach my finishes, making it worth the extra trouble to make and apply them on something that would be in a mouth, slobbered or chewed on.
