Also the patient had a lighter. So, nobody knows what really happened to actually cause the fire until the investigation is finished.

Perhaps the patient tried to light the e cig with the lighter.

We don't run internal combustion engines with them because a) they're too expensive per gallon, and b) both leave a sticky residue post-burning.
