The abysmal bill in NY still has to get through the Health Committee, the Senate, and the Gov. It's very much not over.
I just called all of the HC member's offices, used the CASAA form letter to help focus my concerns and comments, and whether or not they will pass much but a "pro" or "con" along, many of the phone-answerers to whom I spoke were interested, cordial and some asked specific questions re my own experience and seemed to be writing things down. It's best to be civil and cordial back.
The word from them is that they are getting a fair number of emails, but not too many calls, and the word is also that calls matter - and snail mail (looks like the thing will be heard by them on May 5 - tho it seems wobbly?) and of course the email.
If you're a NY resident be sure and give them your name, address and phone # - most ask for it. See the several boards re this elsewhere - HC member's names, addresses, email and phone numbers are conveniently listed, as is ongoing discussion and a general continued gearing up. There's new info there every day and it's helpful - I got good input and revised my snail-mail letters, and etc..
I was pessimistic re Illinois, and look what happened. Mea Culpa. Please mobilize, if you haven't already.
And pray, or do the voodoo doll thing, or whatever works for you...

Give 'em hell! If I were resident there I'd be all over that with you.
I'm sure this issue will come to MN at some point. GRRRRRR!
