tell your co-worker this:

I'd rather vape than smoke.

I'd rather only consume 4 ingredients:

•Nicotine
•Propylene glycol
•Vegetable glycerine
•Flavoring

Than 43 known cancer-causing compounds and 400 other toxins. Here are just some of the nastiest; all found in regular cigarettes NONE in vape liquid.

•Acetone - ingredient in nail polish remover
•Methanol - used as rocket fuel
•Naphthylamine - a carcinogen
•Pyrene - a carcinogen
•Naphthalene - moth repellent
•Cadmium - used in batteries, a carcinogen
•Carbon monoxide - poisonous gas
•Vinyl Chloride - used in plastic materials
•Cyanhydric acid - poisonous gas
•Ammonia - industrial cleaner and detergent
•Arsenic - lethal poison
•Dibenzacridine - a carcinogen
•Polonium 210 - a radioactive element
•DDT - insecticide
•Formaldehyde - embalming fluid

Ya digg?!

Congratulations on QUITTING tobacco!

Now tell your co-worker one thing: would you force an ex-alcoholic to drink cola or water out of a table spoon to stop him drinking out of a glass or a bottle just because that was the way he drank alcoohol??? The gesture has nothing to do with tobacco and does not harm your health!

People should mind their own business!:?:

Yes, you all make some very good points to my issue.... Having said that, I thought about it for a day and yes I do feel all the things you folks posted here!!!!
I AM very proud of how far I have come thus far..... I feel sooooooo much better...... Sleeping, Breathing, Energy, No Headaches, Pressure in my chest area,,, The list of goodness is just endless..... I DO LOVE VAPING!!!! If this is a trade off,,,,, SO BE IT..... I started vaping over a year ago, but did not go full out until the first of the year when I got my Ego..... I'm Sticking with it!!!! I don't care what he or anyone else says or feels about vaping, It something I truly enjoy rather than analogs and the issues that go with it.....

I 'm still on board here..... DON'T GIVE UP ON ME! I'm Not!!!!

Good deal. Sounds like vaping is working for you. My suggestion would be go 6 or 8 months analog free and then consider your options.

I had no intention of quitting smoking. Necessity led me to try e-cigs.I found this forum and a smoke stik.I smoked my last analog On Jan. 15th because the next day my smoke stik came in the mail.I smoked analogs for 44 years.I really liked smoking.I haven't looked back. I find vaping so much better. The flavors, the fun colors, the forums have all been a factor in kicking the habit.I will never quit vaping but I don't smell anymore.:)

Hi Guys & Gals,,,,,

Just wanted to let all know I'm into my third month of no analogs!!!!
...

It's funny...

Every time I hear a success story on the ECF, I hear that Bonnie Raitt version of Lowe George's "All That You Dream" off Waiting for Columbus.

____________

"I've been down, but not like this before
Can't be 'round this kind of show no more

All, all that you dream
Comes to shine in silver lining silver lining clouds
clouds change the scene
And that Rain starts wash'n
all loves cautions
Right into your life
Make you realize
Just what is true
What else can I do?
You just follow the rule
Keep your eyes on the road that's ahead of you

I've been down, but not like this before
Can't be 'round this kind of show no more

All of the good
Good times were ours
In the land of milk and honey
And time
Time has its scars
And those rainy days they turn to sunny ones
Your livin' the life
Livin' the life lovin' everyone.

I've been down, but not like this before
Can't be 'round this kind of show no more"

Perhaps you have had to have heard the song before in that time and space. Or perhaps you would have to know a little about Lowe George or Bonnie Raitt and what they have been thru.

But the thing that rings True is Success Thru Struggle.

Right On!

Keep your eyes on the road that's ahead of you...

Just read your story and you are a few weeks ahead of me on your quit date. I wanted to add a comment about the co-worker saying you haven't really quit. I have had the same comments made to me at my work. I am so happy to be a "non-smoker" for the first time in 20 years and they just think of it as cheating. When it came to quitting cigarettes though, I couldn't have done it without cheating. If there was one time in your life that cheating was OK, I would say this is it!!! I still struggled quite a bit without anologs ... and fought threw it. IMO, it would be different if you quit and there was no struggle. While vaping, you still have to adjust to only getting nicotine as that isn't the only addictive igredient. The change in your health and day to day feeling so much better is proof enough of what a huge accomplishment it is ... regardless of the fact that we had to cheat a little to get there ... we got there!! LOL Congrats again. I have finally made it to the point where cigarettes smell yucky! I never ever thought there would be a day that cigarettes didn't smell wonderful!! Yay ... not a number, but one more step into confidently calling myself an ex-smoker!

Thanks so much for your kind words.... The support from all the members here has been most appreciated during a very difficult time in one's life(trying to quit analogs)... I'm still smoke free!! I'm feeling so much better!!! I guess the most frustrating thing is telling all the smokers I know about Vaping and they do nothing about it.... I have only run into one other person who vapes at work and did not have a pleasant experience over the conversation... Like talking to a pet rock....
Other than that,,, I too have started to get bothered by analog smell... I still sit with them, but find myself moving away without saying anything about how bad the smoke smells.... What can you say???? Hit my Ego and move on!!!!

Good Vapes~~~~~~~~

Way to go Steef! Be proud of yourself.

Some naysayers are so dull-minded. As an example, at a few of the quit-smoking boards on the internet, you'll actually be booted off for even mentioning e-cigs. Honestly. This just really fascinates me!! All the while, they will actually endorse the other (mostly worthless) NRT's -- gum, patch, etc...just don't mention e-cigs. Here is why: People who are miserable quitting simply can't bear the thought of someone actually quitting without being miserable.

That's it in a nutshell.

If THEY suffered through withdrawal and the agony of quitting, well, then by golly, so should YOU.

Of course, this makes absolutely no sense. Not to mention it's petty and mean-spirited.

In truth I can hardly abide most reformed smokers for their righteous attitude. Despite the fact I don't smoke cigarettes any more, I tend to actually like smokers more than nonsmokers. They're a lot less judgmental of others-- having been frowned on so long gives them a sort of humility sadly lacking in most people who've quit.

The nicotine you're getting from vaping is pretty much comparable to the effects of caffeine in coffee. Do you see anyone ranting at coffee-drinkers? Of course not. Keep that in mind and don't let anyone bother you. Keep up the great work!

TODAY is Three Months ANALOG Free!!!!!

Well a much needed milestone arrived today, Three Months, 90 Days analog free.... Oh Yes, I've had my moments,,,,, But otherwise I'm makin it!!!!
My biggest issue is when my Ego starts acting up..... I don't mean that in a bad way..... Atty needs to be cleaned out, Cart needs to be filled, Batty starts
flashing just as I refilled it.... Dammit!!!! Seems to go out at the most inopportune moment!!! Calmly,,,,, fix the problem to get back to vaping:)))))

Did go for my yearly exam with the doctor this past month...... All good!!! Even gave the nurse the ECF website for her hubby who won't quit smoking.... This came up after she took my BP which was damn near perfect.... Had to smile when I told her I quit smoking the 1st of Jan...... She askes , How ya do it????
I'll let you guy's fill in the blanks.... Also have a couple of converts at work who have converted and a few more showing much interest in vaping..
I must not be to good of a salesmen, They both went to the mall to get theirs...... Where did I go wrong???? Gave them sooooo many options with some damn good prices and look what it gets me...... Ooooooo well, At least they switched,,,,, Right?????

I still drink lots of H2O,,,, Chew lots of gum,,,,Eat a boat load of cookies..... Got hooked on pumpkin seeds(SF seeds too salty)
Cloths don't smell, Truck doesn't smell..... I don't have that "ode of analog air" about me after coming back from break!!!!

And finally, Something weird,,,, I had two patches of dry skin on the inside palms of my hands I could not get rid of. I used every kind of OTC lotion I could find to clear this up... Nothing worked..... Nothing!!!! They would start to heal, then split open all over again.... I'm happy to report these have completely healed since I gave up analogs... I do not know why!!! Just happy its gone....

When I got my pv I was like you and never really made it to the switch, I used it inside and smoked everywhere else for about 8 months. Maybe it was habbit, or I was scared I couldn't actually use a pv to replace cigs. Finally I just went for it, I filled an ego mega dual coil and set up my rules for quitting.

1 no smoking within an hour of waking.
2 no smoking in the car
3 only three cigs at work

Three simple rules helped me go from a pack a day, to a pack a week, to none at all. Cutting back is better than nothing, I could have never just stopped smoking and started 100% vaping over night. But over two or three weeks it was easy. You have to find the trigger moments you always smoke at and break those habits before you can quit. Atleast I had to. :)) cheer and good luck!

LOL! The "rules" work for me, too. Any way you switch is the right way.

Many newbies find theirself in this situation, it's normal. By brother in law had to have 1 cigarette his first day vaping, then by the end of two weeks, he felt like he didn't need to buy tradtional cigs anymore. Some people need to transition. It gets better for most new vapers... no worries for anyone reading this post who may be in a similar situation. :D I didn't miss cigs at all, when I first started? But everyone is different and must find their niche/nicotine level, fave flavor etc.
