You are doing great, hang in there. Yes, it does get easier but for me there were odd moments and sometimes dreams that were so vivid. These popped up out of the blue after months of no problems or cravings. I would dream that I caved in and smoked one puff and beat myself up for messing up my almost one year smoke free. Must have been some sort of inner worry or something.

You already have great advice. The only thing I will add is to get plenty of back-up supplies. I have 5 mods and 4 ego/riva sets, tons of other accessories and a zillion juices. For the longest time, I would not go anywhere without several back-ups. Now, I don't worry much about it cause I know I would be ok for awhile, if needed. My fear came about because I had smoked for a total of 40 plus years and had not been able to quit for more than 36 hours (pure H...). In one week, I will celebrate my one year anniversary, woo-hoo.

The first week for me was hard because I thought about smoking all the time. But the second week was in a way worse. I didn't think about it as much but when the urge hit, it was Very strong.

Keep drinking lots of water and stay busy. You can make it if you just don't break down and have "one" smoke.

You hit it on the head zoiDman, that "one" smoke is the one that can start that setback. With that said, it is more about the analogs you don't smoke than it is about slipping and smoking a couple. It does get easier with time. I now find myself with zero urge to smoke a "real" cig.

Rather than analogs or increasing the nicotine mgs, try picking up some Camel snus (Swedish is better, but Camel is easier to get in the states without having to order online.)

Snus is just as low risk as e-cigarettes (including oral cancer) and has the tobacco alkaloids that are missing from e-cigarettes. Many people who have difficulty making the switch find that they need the tobacco alkaloids in addition to the nicotine. My husband was up to nearly 36mg and still needed to smoke occasionally! Adding an occasional snus to vaping finally eliminated the smoking urge for him and he now uses 10mg with occasional snus. It's been over a year since he quit analogs now.

Anyone having trouble making the switch off analogs to e-cigs should buy snus right away and try to substitute snus for the analog when they get the urge, especially if you are already at a medium or high nic mg.

My husband just ordered Swedish snus at https://www.lilbrown.com/product/ta...ame/general-snus-wht-por-wg-10ct/default.aspx

I also quit analogs on 1/1/11. My urge to smoke a cigarette comes and goes, but I refuse to cave in.

Drink plenty of water. Evertime you feel like smoking, drink some water. I also started lifting weights again and doing 30 minutes of cardio everyday. You've gotta piss and sweat the poison out of your system.

I started smoking at the age of 11. I'll be 36 in May. If I would've discovered PVs earlier, I probably would've been more successful in my previous attempts to kick the analog habit.

Stay strong, stay determined, drink water, and start up the good habit of exercising. Best of luck! =)

    Hello All,

Well I've made it (8) days without an analog!!!!
Been a very hectic week of work, but overall,,,,,, I have made it thus far.....
Ego is holding up fine..... Too fine..... Vaping the damn thing dry!!! But NO ANALOGS thus far....
My only panic moment is when I flood the atty, see the batty blink or huff it dry.... Drink lot of water, Chew lot of gum,
Work my .... off.... It works for me..

Key to my success,,, I was sick of analogs... I tried to quit three times in the past several years with limited success...
But a few beers and I would be right back on the logs.... I don't recall if I mentioned I work night shift so once I got off work I would just sit and smoke to unwind. So smoking got to be up to 15-20 hours a day.... Depending when I went to bed.....
I saw no end in sight!!! I purchased my first 510 at the beginning of last year and vaped off and on trying to cut back...
It boiled down to one chronic issue,,,, The batteries!!! Yes the batty!!! I look at the Screwdriver models and thought,,,
Do I really want a screw driver looking object coming out of my face???? Was not for me... Also looked at the box mods,,, Square box coming out of my face,,, Not for me.... Then I saw the Ego!!! Viola.... I wanted one,, Could afford to buy it but being the cheapo I am, went with the 510 mega battys instead.... Worked well, but did not want to chance of crapping out on me at work.... Sooooooo When my Son got it for me for Christmas,,, I WAS READY the instant I vaped it!!!! This will work!!!
THAT'S how I made it, as well as the overwhelming support from the great folks here on the forum!!!!

I am so glad I never get that OMG feeling anymore-been off analogs one year now-almost to the day-first few weeks are the worst but after that it becomes a way of life and infact a HOBBY to vape-we are all gonna be just fine-don't give up and you will come to the realization that you simply are no longer a SMOKER but are now a vaper and I am getting the feeling that I could actually quit that too if I desired-which I do not

    Hello All,
Well today is ten(10) days without an analog!!! Feeling Great, Sleeping Better, Breathing Better... Think my blood pressure has even gone down!!!
Don't seem to have that panic feeling any longer and if my PV flashes I don't feel the need to jump up and get a charged battery....
Still waiting for my new juice to arrive but have enough of a stash to get me there!!! Mom (My better Half) wants a new Ego now to get her off the analogs..
Just ordered some carto's so she can try it out on mine before I get her one(I will anyway).....

Again, Thanks so much for your words of encouragement & support during this difficult time!!!!!

Good deal Steef, another milestone. Keep up the good work and in no time you'll be wondering why you ever smoked analogs. After over 20 years of smoking I'm surprised at how easy it was to stop with the help of my PV!

Because all the chemicals in cigarettes really mess with your hormones and your body's natural chemical productions. Your body is still figuring out how to regulate everything and every once in a while it's going to overcompensate but eventually everything will level out. It's kind of like going through puberty all over again. And it was Friday night and you were probably tired and not at your shining best . . . It happens. It will happen less. Just recognize it, give yourself a mental time out, accept it . . . take a vape break . . seriously, step outside to your smoking area and repeat the cig (using PV) ritual.

Congratulations Steef! I'm proud of you. You are over the hardest part. The crawling out of your skin phase is over and it's all downhill from here. Treat yourself with an order of new flavors. You deserve it. :vapor:

Normal stuff to have those nic and/or chemical demons come out of no where in the beginning of being smoke free. I had a major one about 5 weeks in one afternoon. It really did seem to come out of no where with no explaination except for some reason my body decided to throw a fit and scream at me that it wasn't getting all those chemicals in analogs and it wanted them NOW. I chain vaped my way through it and honestly for me, it was the last screaming fit my body threw for those chemicals. Not saying that the thought of having a cigarette never passed through my brain again, just not with that screaming sensation and urge that I had to fight really hard against.

You did GOOD !! Congrats on fighting those demons off !!!!
