Hello All,
Thought I would provide a status of my progress thus far!!!
Well I've made it 19 days today Analog Free!!! The Edginess has seemed to worn off as well as the OMG moments I so feared.... The Ego is still hanging in there, but I've already burned out an Atty.... But I'm good with that. I certainly got my moneys worth out of that one!!!!

BTW,,,, Can someone tell me how to attach one of the Analogs Avoided Banners to my Signature section???? I have a pretty good idea of how to do this,,, But don't want to screw it up!!! Any help would be Greatly Appreciated.....

Good Vapes~~~~~

You're doing great steef, keep it up. As far as the banner just click on one that has the style you like and it will take you to the site to configure it. then just copy the html and go to your profile click add(or edit) signature and paste it in.

Good luck and keep up the good work- I know what you're going through, and believe me it is worth it.

You might want to make sure you are not caught in a mental pass/fail mode. You smoke a cigarette you failed, may as well keep smoking kind of thing.

Maybe commit to a lot less smoking at first and stop beating yourself up. I was 2-2 1/2 pack a day smoker for over 20 years, got the vape thing on a lark with no huge expectations and quickly realized I could vape instead of smoke BUT I still had the cravings for analogs occasionally during the day, so I smoke a few, no big deal (to me). It's been 3 months and I do 3-5 analogs a day, I enjoy them now, I didn't before. I don't beat myself up over it, 3-5 cigs vs. 40-50 is a huge impact on my health. Conventional quitting propaganda always dictates "all or none"...blah blah blah...I think this is why many fail, it's a very difficult almost unrealistic goal.

If I had approached this from a strict "never smoke another cigarette as long as I live", a rigid pass/fail thing, I would have failed and threw the vapes away. As it is, I'm happy with the result.

Nobody smokes, vapes or does anything exactly the same way as others, why is there only one way to quit cigarettes? If it takes another five years to junk the few dailies I smoke, so be it, I'm on a much better road now.

Very well put.

I am going to give you a combination to try out. Get yourself a couple of LR306 atty with a drip tip. And order some 24mg Backwoods Brew Caramel Cappuccino with 80 percent PG if possible. I will tell you what. That packs a punch and the flavor of the juice rocks. I ordered mine with extra flavor. The 306LR atty on my ego blows doors on the regular 510 attys. 80 percent PG gives a real good throat. If you have not tried dripping yet, read up on it. If you have only on a 510, you are going to be in vaping dream land. keep that baby moist. I find you cant flood these things, but they do tend to leak a little (you cannot use them with the cone unless you have a drip tip for them. I still have yet to get a drip tip. I just use mine without the cone, and with the empty cart it comes with. I dont see how i will ever use another regular 510 atty again on my ego. I still have 5 brand new ones, and am down to 2 of the LR306.

It a commitment I needed to make!!!! I just turned 54 yesterday and have smoked for a very long time.... Working the hours I do(Midnight Shift) I was smoking some 15-20 hours a day on the weekends... I just got sick of of it.... When I got a new Ego for Christmas, I said to myself, this is it and set my mind to it....
I hit the Ego soooooo hard the first couple of days, hence my OMG thread, I did not know if I could do it, Not alone anyway.... Have received overwhelming support form the Great Folks of this Forum who did not give up on me as well as the support of my family..... This really means the world to me during a difficult time for sure.....

And Lastly,
The dose of reality really hits home when you place that banner at the end of your notes,,,,,, WOW,,,,, Did I smoke that much???? Scary, Lucky to have made it thus far with only a few minor smoking related issues to which I hope will clear up with each day without ANALOGS!!!!!

Great Vapes~~~~~~~

Congrats on the job well done. I am following your progress and very excited for you. Before you know it, you will have a 6 month mark and then 1 year. I still can't believe it sometimes. I made one year on 1/11/11, I am still just as excited as you are in the journey.

    Hello All,
Well I was waiting for my 60 day mark to post, But something happened last night at work that really upset me.....

I was sitting with a guy I work with who knew I had quit analogs and have gone out with me on break time to vape..... He would ask a few questions about what I had and how it worked as well as what was coming out of my lungs... No harm or foul on his part since he does not smoke....

So as routine I was on my way out after lunch to vape when the guy states,,,,, YOU HAVE NOT REALLY QUIT!!!! I was shocked,,, Upset, Hurt, Miffed... Whatever... Just about to go off on the guy but I took a deep breath and just moved on.....

I have to say,,, This totally caught me off guard..... I stood there speechless and had no response.... I have been really proud of my accomplishments thus far and the Love of my Life is always telling me how proud of me she is and now this....... I just don't know what to say!!!! Hell,,,Even the smokers at work are patting me on the back on how long vaping has kept me off the analogs...... Where do I go from here????

some people act the same way toward my vaping. Their theory is if theres nicotene in the juice than you're not quit. I just tell them I'd rather have just the nic and not all the other chemicals and filler in analogs. Personally I feel better vaping than smoking for environmental reasons as well as health reasons.

    Steef,

It's not possible for someone who was never addicted to cigarettes to understand the power they have/had over you. I absolutely believe that BT add chemicals to enhance our need to smoke cigarettes. On top of that most smokers (including me) have smoked for so long that the natural habit is just as difficult to give up as the chemicals in the cigarettes. Someone who never smoked cigarettes won't understand....

BE VERY PROUD OF YOUR ACCOMPLISHMENT....and don't let one persons opinion eat at you....
Support is what you need....which is a big part of this forum and I believe, a big part of quitting smoking for good. If someone can't support you then maybe it's them, not you....

Why do you care what your co-worker thinks about vaping or smoking for that matter?

You have quit analogs and that is something you should be proud of.

But you did it by substituting vaping for analogs. So the question becomes, how do you feel about trading one addiction for another? How do you like vaping?

For me. I feel better. Have more energy. Am not short of breath when I run up stairs. Don’t reek like a ash tray. Sleep better at night. So one can say that I have traded one addiction for a better one. That was my plan and it has worked.

In the last month or so I have found myself vaping less and at lower nicotine levels. I started at 28mg and sometimes 36mg. I’m now doing 12mg and 0mg at night. I’m going to ramp the vaping down over time and eventually quit all together.

So people can say things to me like you haven’t quit. It doesn’t bother me. I know that I wouldn’t have been able to get off analogs with out e-Cigs.
Many smokers make comments like that out of jealousy. Non-Smokers I don’t even listen to because they do not understand the nature of addiction that analogs have over people.

I say stay the course if you are happy. Can it if your not.

But don’t like one off-hand comment ruin all the work you have done getting off analogs.
