Good evening,

I've been vaping for a little over a week now and still going through that delightful formative phase while I work to get my footing and find out what exactly it is I want from an e-cig. I joined ECF to help provide my own (short lived) body of knowledge from my research on the issue as well as ultimately to get some recommendations from the more tenured vapers about what to actually throw money down on.

The reason I decided to try vaping was because my main hobby, cycling, was being adversely affected by my smoking habit. My times were plateauing while the amount of effort I felt I invested was increasing along with my smoking habit.

The two e-cigs that I've had so far have been a couple Finiti menthol brand disposables and an NJoy Express starter kit. The Finitis were what I used to test vaping for the first time to see if this was something I would be interested in pursuing fully. The flavor was mediocre, akin to smoking a menthol ultra light, but the Finiti produced a reasonable amount of vapor (even when I did not know how to inhale properly) and it was a positive enough experience that I bought another two.

After my first few Finitis died, I decided to take a shot at a "true" e-cigarette and purchased an NJoy Express Starter (again menthol) for $20.00. I figured since NJoy was a name I was familiar with after a few cursory searches (along with Blu) that the quality wouldn't be terrible. To be honest, while it has more flavor than the Finiti, the quality of the vapor and the life span of the battery have been garbage (do not recommend). The cart lasted a day and a half of light vaping before it stopped producing almost any sort of vapor and even after eight hours of charging, I'm only getting a couple hours of vaping.

I refilled my cart for the first time yesterday (slightly cracking the case in the process) with some generic liquid from my nearby smoke shop. Unlike the cartomizers I had seen in various videos which have a set of o-ring like inserts simply wedged into the cart tube for the mouth piece, NJoy actually glues their pieces into the cart to intentionally make them more difficult to refill. The flavor of the liquid was off (the menthol tasted chemically, like bad quality mint gum), but it helped fix some of the issues that I was having with vapor quality and flavor. I guess the cart that came with the starter kit wasn't fully filled. My experience with the NJoy has started me looking for a higher end e-cigarette and something to use on a permanent basis which brings me back to why I've registered today. Cheers everyone.

Obligatory 'by a Provari' post.

Welcome to ECF!
Requisite appreciation for the obligatory post. (Seriously, thanks. Nice to meet you).

Voluntary member greeting. Welcome to the ECF. Look around there is so much information here about vaping I'm sure you will find what you are looking for.
I would suggest you look into the
Joye eGo-C Twist and some Boge 3 ohm cartomizers
to start out with.
Thanks for the info. I've been looking at Joye's products since they receive so much word of mouth promotion by other vapers.

Hello, fello newbies (to the forum) I'd rather post a few quality posts than go through a barage of twenty just to pass verification.
Ditto!

I'm new also. I was lucky enough to start with an ego T. A friend suggested it. I had tank leak issues at first. Bought the replacement silicone tank caps and fixed the problem. I have no regrets. I understand the ego C is a better choice. A pair of ego twists will be my next investment. Good luck with your decision.

Hello and welcome to ECF.:) You only need verification if you're wanting to buy or sell in the classies.
Why don't you tell us what you'd like in a PV. Does size matter? Do you want a device that has changeable batteries or one like an ego/kgo that is a battery? What price range are you looking for or is price negliable? How long do you need your battery to last before recharging?

Well hello and welcome.

If you are sure you are going to continue vaping then yes, I actually would buy the Provari. They are expensive but will cover all your needs. They are built very solid. Great reputation. I love mine. With being able to adjust voltages you will be able to find that perfect vape that fits you. Boge cartomizers are a great option for new people and even some of us that have been around a while. If you have a Provari you dont need to worry about what ohm they are since you can just adjust the voltage to whatever matches. Seriously though, the Provari is extremely versitile and worth every penny.

That being said Im hooked on ePipeMods ;)

An ego twist is the cheapest and best way to test out VV however so may be worth a try.

Unfortunately I haven't really decided what all I need in a vaporizer. I'm hoping that as I read and learn more, I'll get a clearer idea of what I'm looking for. From what I know now though, I want a mini-sized vaporizer. I need something that is still small enough to be discreet, but still has enough battery life for a couple hours of on and off heavy vaping. I'd like something that is designed for easy maintenance and with e-liquid refilling in mind (two days in and I'm already tired of this NJoy cartomizer). My other main issue is flavor/body, both of which are better on a mid-sized (from what I've read) than on a mini (what I'm using now). If there were a manual mini that met my criteria, I'd go with that easily as like most casual vapers, I prefer something that is close to a regular cigarette and will probably continue to do so for the foreseeable future.

I've never even heard of Provari before this post, so I'm looking now. Thanks!

Hi everyone, newbie here. Just started getting serious about my vaping. I currently use a 801 pen style and love it.
Am waiting on a new Voltx2 setup I ordered last week for passthrough vaping. So far so good. After two weeks, I'm down to under 3 cigarettes a day. This week I will chuck the analogs entirely. I've already seen a ton of wonderful information here and can't wait to dig a little deeper into this treasure trove! Thanks for being here to lend a hand to us newbies!

Welcome!! I like the ego system or kgo.

I would suggest you look into the
Joye eGo-C Twist and some Boge 3 ohm cartomizers
to start out with.

I'm a newbie too. I smoke about 1 pack of Analogs a day. I had gotten down to 3/4 pack, with the rest being
Volt with mail-order juice or Blu Disposables.

I love the vapor in the Blu disposables but don't like their batts and carts.

I like the flavor of Volts, but I suspect I'm refilling the cartos too many times
or incorrectly -- they are starting to feel wimpy.

I read http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...ough I can't seem to give up nicotine.

Blu uses juice made by Johnsons Creek according to Blu's recipe. There is no other identical juice available, but you can get very close.

That is possible. Cartos don't last forever, even if they're still not burned out.
Try some new ones. Or, pick up one of their X2 batteries and a clearomizer. Clearomizers last longer and taste cleaner than cartomizers.

I read http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...sierecig.com/KGO-kit-1100mAh-by-SLB_p_10.html

For folks who can tolerate something about the diameter of a Sharpie marker, you'll be worlds ahead going with a KGO over the mini e-cigs. The KGO battery should go about 10 hours between charges (the kit should contain 2 of them) and they use the popular 510 threading, plus they're eGo clones so all the specialty "EGO clearomizers" and such will fit right on 'em. I personally like (for regular low resistance cartomizers) the Boge LR 2.0 Ohm or (IMO, better) the Smoktech LR XL Single Coil 1.7 Ohm. I also like the eGo Vision CE4+ (or Stardust) V2 from Discount Vapers or GotVapes. (If you get these anywhere else you *may* be getting an inferior product, as there are lots of knockoffs on these.)

One of the most important reasons for using a larger (higher mAh) battery is it allows you to use low resistance attys & cartos, vastly improving the amount of heat (wattage) delivered to the juice. This increases flavor, vapor, and ultimately, control over your vaping experience... especially with a manual switch.

And finally, for a bit of educational humor, there's this: 4 Stages of Vaping - YouTube

Guess I have to look something up, I thought they were just cartomizers without modesty.

No, it did not. Their tank systems are just as junky as they always were. A variable battery doesn't fix it.

THANKS for the warning! Some ads were claiming otherwise.

Unfortunately , the only thing that tastes like a Blu disposable is a Blu disposable.

I actually do NOT like the taste of the Blu disposable, I like the vapor! Or, really, I feel like I NEED the vapor. (And the difficulty of a 3-year-old getting it apart....)

Try some non-tobacco flavors and you'll be astonished at how fast you lose your fondness for the taste of tobacco.

I tried several, I hate them. But I also don't like the taste of cigarettes anymore, I'm liking the pipe-tobacco-like flavors.

The kGo consists of a battery and a cartomizer, unless you wish to use something other than a cartomizer with it.

ALL the reviewers except one reviewed it with a tank or atomizer/cartridge combination and it comes with atomizer/cartridge. I guess I'll have to find someone to give that stuff to, especially the menthol!

So, would 2-ohm seem like the Blu Disposable for vapor and the 3-ohm seem like the Volt? I guess I need Boge or Riva?

There is no better pen-style than the volt.

I think he meant a much longer battery than the 78mm (3.7v) ones. As in bigger. (Does that also mean higher voltage so they give more vapor?)

The kgo does not require dripping, leaking parts or tools. It requires a cartomizer Or a clearomizer or some other type of juice delivery system.

Halleluja!!!!!

Here's the kGo. It comes in a half dozen colors as well. KGO kit1100mAh by SLB

Does anybody know if the new gold color is also "brushed" like the Titanium?

THANKS!!!!!

I thought I was reading something about can't use LR with newer eGo? Is there a voltage/resistance/model chart or should I just pick something and hope I don't blow anything up?

Yeah, I thought I'd hate manual switches but it took me all of 5 seconds to fall in love with them. Or, 3 seconds.
