Day 3, 5 tanks in

Still no leaking, did not close juice/airflow off overnight again. Perhaps another point of nitpicking ... If your mod is your pocket and you pull it out by the top cap, you might open up the topfill. I had no leaking or such. But then again you should still be carefull. It is not loose at all, we'll see how it holds up in a month or so

Yep no leaking still here :)

I have opened the top fill once by accident, as you said it is not loose, but not tight either though, so that could be a con to some people, but the time it did happen to me, I quickly closed it again and didn't have any leaking when ot happened, so not a big deal.

Looking at 4 tanks currently: OBS v2 with standard drip tip, Cthulhu v2, Indulgence and Steam Crave. Currently Bellus, Goliath v2 and Crown tanks are my goto maybe the TFV4. I find the Bellus most interesting but think air flow is a little restricting but easy fill and build is big plus. Crown find to be great but don't care for the rba deck, hoping TFV4 dual rba deck will improve (not interested in buying expensive coils). Think the OBS is at top of list followed by Cthulhu but Steam crave is tight (Steam crave does not appear forgiving to leaks when throwing around). Probably end up with 2 of the 4 wants, anyone own some of these to compare?

    Hey bud,
I can only help you out with a few. The goliath v2 is a great tank if you can get the wicking right. The bellus is an awful tank. It leaks at the best no matter what. Cthulhu v2 is my favorite tank I own. If you like a tighter draw, go for that. If you like a more airy draw go for the goliath v2.

Today decided I would did the post holes bigger, was easy to do, didn't want to risk going too big, so just used a 1/16th drill piece :)

So decided I would try clapton coils on it, wrapped around a 2mm rod, was tight, but did manage to fit though.

I do like the clapton coils on my single coil atties, but this took too much power to get a good vape, and knew it would go through juice just to fast, so went back to normal coils.

Still was good to get the post holes drilled out, 26 gauge was really tight with the standard holes, was much easier to mount coils with the holes drilled bigger.

I love my Bellus. No leaking whatsoever, and darn good flavor, too.

No leaking here either after a couple of refills and builds. Flavor improved for me when I lowered the coils to align with the air holes after setting them high for the first build. I'll take a little less airflow for better flavor any day. Still putting the wick ends down only into the step in the juice channel, no lower. Also, thinning the wicks a little helped flavor in the second lower build.

Don't have an optimal build yet. Will try twisted 28 gauge next, 2.5 mm, also aligned with the air holes.

Edit: Kinda the wrong thread for this.

I don't presume the coil deck comes off the base for quick and easy coil replacement if desired?

Even better if deck could be replaced with an alternative single-coil configuration one. :w00t:

Anyhow, wishlisted and looking forward to getting an updated edition when available, with std 510 drip tip well and enlarged wire holes. The matte black looks like a perfect match to the similarly attired VTC Mini.

Thanks for all the early reviews and links.

Got mine today. Very early impressions:

    • top fill works as advertised, and is great. Very easy to snap up and fill without any tools or fiddling- and since you can actually close the liquid flow while filling there's no chance of a fill leak. All top fill tanks should have a way to close the juice flow off while filling!
    • Post holes are more than big enough for 26g. Didn't try but it sure looks like I could fit 24 in here no problem, which is the thickest I'd use in a tank.
    • I do not like the drip tip it comes with, too thick. My second favorite tip fits great though. I tried a few, if the drip tip has a really thick o-ring it won't fit well, if it has a thinner one it will. If I was set on a particular tip I could just swap its o-ring for a thinner one and fit it fine.
    • I've seen some sites list this as 5ml others as 4.2. Feels like a lot less than 5, I'll test that with a syringe next fill.
    • If your coils are big you really need to thin down the tails to fit them into the juice wells.
Any feedback from current owners on these two issues?
    • The whole tank has the smell of the foam insert it was packaged in. I was not able to successfully separate the glass tank from the chimney and top cap. Is it just on there real tight or is there a trick to it? Where do you grip it to unscrew the glass tank for cleaning?
    • I was expecting the juice flow and airflow control to be independently adjustable- but they seem to be turning together. Do I just need to wait for an o-ring to loosen up a little? Is it possible to have the juice flow wide open and the air halfway? The two don't seem to want to change independently for me, they just spin together.

It is just really tight, but it does come apart, just be careful not to break the glass, you don't have much to grab under the tank, I have completely taken it apart twice now, and admit both times it was a lot of work, hopefully over time it will loosen up a bit,

The juice control and airflow are independant from each other, I use the airflow ring to adjust airflow of course, but twist the glass of the tank itself to adjust the juice control.

Yes you can take the base off to adjust your coils/change cotton without draining the tank.

Thanks Nailz! Just refilled and now that things aren't as dry in there I can twist the juice control and airflow independently no problem. (And such an easy mess-free refill was a nice change of pace the Bellus.)

I made dual coils with 28g SS430 and a final resistance of .4 ohms, wicked it with rayon and filled it with 30/70 PG/VG juice. It was easy to build and easy to wick with no problems on the first try.

Hey thayamax! I'm debating giving rayon my first try ever on this tank, any chance you could show some pictures or tips on how much rayon you used in the crius and how thin you made the tails?
