Hey All...

Great forum, lots of very good info to be found, thanks so much for all your efforts to provide it.

Given that, I have a some newbie questions that I haven't easily found to be previously addressed here on the forum. I'd like to try vaping, but want to get the right set up for the frequency of vaping that I'll be doing. I've NOT been a daily smoker for about 5 yrs, back then I smoked 1/2 pack a day at most. Now a days I buy a pack of cigs, ultra light menthols, once a month at the most. I only smoke a cig or three, once a week or so, with a beer or two and/or some wine. I've been looking/thinking on getting an e-cig set up for quite a while now, but haven't quite figured out what my starter set up should be. I'm looking for some experienced vapers to give me a clue. THANKS in advance.

Here are my concerns about getting the right set up:

-What is the best set up for keeping the batteries charged and ready to go for once a week, a couple hours at a go? I really don't want to pull out my e-cig and find the batt is dead.

-What is the best set up for the e-juice cartomizer, give once a week use? if that matters.

-Also, I want to go with 0 nicotine juices, as I don't think nicotine delivery is a big deal to me. For me, its the act of smoking/inhaling that I enjoy that I want to keep, with giving up the less desirable aspects of an analog (love the term, it cracks me the hell up), such as the smell, etc. So, does this matter to what type of juice? PG, VG? which is better for this use?

-I don't think I want to go all in on an AVP (did I get that terminology right?) set up... I'm still looking for the ciggy smoking vibe, sort of... and I don't want tinkering, I want it simple and ready to go, when I want it.

-I don't want to break the bank, but I'll pay for a quality set up that makes the most sense for my use, surely I can do this for $50 - $100?

I've almost bought some set ups I've seen at the c-store, but I stopped short and just got another pack of analogs instead, as I didn't know enough about the quality and I didn't want the nicotine e-juices.

Thanks in advance for your advice... I'll go update my profile, if it doesn't already say US... I live in MN, if that makes a difference. I'm in no hurry... I've got a month or two to burn thru my last pack of analogs. :p

Kippis!

You'll find two groups here on the forums Cig-alike supporters (pay attention to their post counts) who mean well but havent absorbed enough information to help you make an informed decision and those of us who regret throwing our money away on something just because it looks like a cigarette. Even for a very moderate smoker a 510 or kr808 battery isnt going to last a week in between charges and are a pain to refill. Ego batteries last 6-10 hours of heavy vaping time and that ce4 clearo allows you to fill it and forget it instead of having to drip liquid inside the carto or pay for EXPENSIVE pre-filled carts.

Good luck with whatever you decide on getting and welcome to the forums.

How is a cigar sized ecig going to help someome looking for the FEEL of a cigarette?

Please reread what the OP was asking. The op wants to simulate the smoking experience with no nicotine. They didn't ask what device would be a better nicotine delivery system over time.

Post count means nothing if you don't comprehend what is being asked. "For me its the acts of smoking". Again, the ego provides a completely different act of smoking than a cigarette.

The 501/808 is the same form factor as an actual cigarette. It will also provide several hours of vaping ... especially with 2 batteries. That's exactly what the op wants.

An ego isnt a cigar sized battery and for the price of the kit I listed they are getting WAY more than a 501 or a kr808 in terms of quality and convenience. Im not gonna have an argument with someone who just just joined last month and turn this into another debate over cig-alikes versus better alternatives.

To the OP I apologize that the discussion has devolved this far. You've been presented with some pretty good choices, good luck with the switch over to vaping and dont let petty arguments turn you off from a forum of (mostly) wonderful and very helpful people.

Welcome to ECF.

Ovale has a new product, emini that sounds like it might suit your needs very nicely. Simple to use e-cig in a small, attractive form factor with respectable vape production. There a couple of reviews on YouTube.

This looks exactly like what she wants. Keep the personal charging case charged and its ready to go. for $69 it looks like a real cig type experience.

An ego is twice the size of a cigarette in thickness and length.

The op stated clearly its the act of smoking they enjoy. You can't vape an ego like a cigarette.

A 501/808 is not only the size of a cigarette, but allows you to hold and draw from it like a cig. Hence, simulating the smoking experience without actually consuming nicotine.

Btw ... pretty sure this account is over a year old. Even if it wasn't ... that wouldn't automatically make you right. Just because I disagree with you doesn't make me mean and less helpful.

I wasn't debating which is a better all around pv for people trying to quit. I'm an ego user myself. I was just pointing the op to what they were seeking. An ego is NOT the answer for everyones needs ...especially in this case.

first to the OP. Welcome to ECF. As you may have noticed there are as many opinions as there are devices. I've got a lot of big mods. I started with an eGo Twist because I wanted to get away from the analog feeling. After a while I found that the analog lookalikes and the smaller one were better suited for my job. My best advice is take everything with a grain of salt. Check out everything you see recomended. Look for Reviews. Then make a decission. I truly do wish you the best of luck with your new journey. Cheers!
