I can respect the fact that your argument is consistent...
In other words, if no nicotine then no caffeine.

Perhaps we should also ban teachers from going out drinking when old friends are in town.
Or failing to get enough sleep because they have family concerns.

It's not a bad idea really.

I oppose the tenure laws under which the 'due process' you mention, is part. If that were the case, almost all of the 600 rubber room "teachers" in NY would lose their job. (and thousands of others across the country). If there were abuse - physical or sexual - (or other crimes) it should go through the local or state justice system where I would uphold the due process in those regards since it's Constitutional. If found guilty, they shouldn't teach.

No more for me on this topic - it was a comment made about the nic/caffeine issue which imo, is ridiculous.

One should not smoke in school because school isn't a club, it's a place of learning not a place of
using stimulants. If the use of nicotine products by children can be prohibited (as it should be)
then the use of the same by adults during a period and in a place that the children are forced to be

Otherwise you would be applying the law selectively.

Your intent seems to be to make school into a grim, humorless, even physically painful place from which normal human beings would want to escape as soon as possible. That kind of atmosphere is inimical to learning, therefore I condemn it. Particularly because it seems calculated to nurture, encourage and reward the kind of elites by whom we do NOT want to be ruled. As the taxpayers who pay for these schools, we have a right to demand that they not be appropriated by a malevolent clique who want to make our lives miserable.
