Odysseus Sizzles after firing? Sounds like a dry hit, but isn't..?

So I noticed this two weeks ago, but I'm not too concerned about it.. Thought I'd ask anyways.

Like I said, I first noticed it about two weeks ago.. I take a drag, and after I fire it, it keeps sizzling. The sound is pretty much the same noise you would hear from a dry atty when you're dripping. The flavor is fine, as well as the vapor production. I tried loosening up my wraps to see if that would help, but it isn't. The problem seems to persist even after opening the juice control an exaggerated amount. I am currently using 30 gauge kanthal on a cotton wick. Though I'm going to try 33 gauge on my next build to see if I notice any different sort of behavior with that. I'm fairly new with the ody.. I've only had it for a few weeks now, so I don't know if this is normal or not. Doesn't sound normal.

I don't have an Ody, I have a Penny, but either way I have never had this problem. But, the other day someone was telling me that some new atomizer heads she had bought for her Stardust clearomizers were doing this exact same thing. I told her it had to be the device not the heads, but she demonstrated it for me, and she was correct, it was only her newer heads and they did the same things even on my batteries. So I'm bumping this in hopes someone knows something, and hopefully then I can give her an answer.

What device are you using? It's probably the device, not the Ody.

I use a provari. And what you're saying is that you don't think that the power may not be getting cut off instantly when I let go of the button? Much like egos? I doubt this is problem because my phoenixes don't share similar behavior. I think it is something about my coils. Just hope that someone can shed some light on the issue.

In my case that happens because the coil is still hot enough after pressing the button (and wick has a good amount of liquid reserve in it), I have noticed also it often happens when wick / coil is gunked.
Yeah, that's what I figured. Not a huge deal then.
I've noticed mine do it periodically too. I don't really see it as a problem though...it only last for a second. I used to use silica which I don't recall it doing it. Now I use cotton wick...so maybe it is the wick material. I wouldn't use silica just to stop it from occurring though.

I guess you and I are in the same boat. Just wanted to confirm that I wasn't doing something wrong because there really isn't much I can change in my builds

My guess is, you have a lower ohm coil with higher volt pv combination, then you will have the issue.

I tested to build 1.8 ohm coil in my Ody, put on my Provari with 3.8 volts set and I did not have the sizzling sound after releasing the button. I then built another coil this time only 1.3 ohms coil, same juice, same voltage on Provari and voila, the sizzling sound is there. The vape is hotter, means the coil still burning juice, even though you already release the button.

Check your coil ohms mate and next build, make higher ohm coil use with the same voltage, I almost guarantee you the sizzling sound will disappears. :)

Thanks guys, that must be what is going on then! I am currently running a 5 ohm coil at 4.1 volts. Its nice to know what is really happening =]

There you go... Do you realise that you are vaping at 11.2 watts, nothing wrong with that, I know some people vaping at 20 Watts, But that is why the coil still sizzling after you released the button as the coil still very hot and keep burning the juice.

FYI: I only vaping at 8.5watts because that is my sweet spot, and I don't have that sizzling issue at all :)
