some of you know most of you don't. we had to take thumper to the vet at 1pm today to send her off to chase frisbees and rabbits in heaven today.
Thumper was a female chow mix. kindest most gentle dog I have ever had the pleasure of knowing. never once snapped or growled at the baby, never did anything but defend our family from coyotes, bobcats and the like.
Thumper was Pamela's baby and she is gone. No more pain, no more aches just serenity.
When you see pamela drop her a hello or a kind word. She is hurting, as we all are in our family...

I have a couple waiting for me at Rainbow Bridge. I hope this helps, David...

Rainbow Bridge

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.

When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge.
There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together.
There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by.
The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.

They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent; His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

I am very sorry to hear that guys, and my heartfelt condolences to you Pam.

We lost our long time fuzzball friend this summer, a wonderfully sweet Golden retriever named Tanner, he got sick and went downhill very fast :( its amazing how much our furry friends wriggle their way into our family and into our hearts.
good dogs are a hard thing to find.... and an even harder thing to lose......

my thoughts and prayers will be with you guys!

My eyes are filled with tears right now. I feel so badly for you. I know how hard it is to lose a dog. We had 7 dogs at one time and we loved each and every one to the max. They all grew older and in the last 3 years we have lost 4 of them. Each time was just as hard as the first. Nothing is better than a dog. I hope your heart heals soon.

We lost our chow mix last year. She too was a amazing dog, with a personality unlike any other dog I've every had. She was loved and will always be missed. Although she went in her sleep, we have had other well loved dogs, that we had to make the very tough decision to have put to sleep. It is such a hard thing to do and yet when you know it is the right thing to do, it also brings a kind of relief to know they are no longer suffering. It is us who are sad. Our pets, I truly believe are happily waiting for us on the other side.
