Hey Fran

We got a portable unit.
It's on casters, has a 5" exhaust hose that vents out the window. Similar to the pic mmsjs5 posted above.
Remote control, dehumidifier..... it should do the trick..... I hope!

My bedroom is upstairs, on the HOT days the upstairs DOES NOT COOL DOWN.
Last night it was 83 and humid upstairs, the A/C took it down to 72 in about 1 hour with the fan on low. Promising.

the evap coolers only work if the humidity is really low (under 30%) - but when they work they work great. They get used a lot out in the desert regions.

That's funny you mentioned that. Those were what we had in our apartment in El Paso when I was in the army. They weren't portable but we're evaporative coolers.

That's it exactly CES.
The portable A\C may only be used 10 days or so any given year but when it's needed it'll be WELCOME! 'Course, with global warming and all it may get used more than that....

Evaporative coolers what I know as swamp coolers?
Air blown across a drum that revolves through a reservoir of water?

Lived in houses set up with swamp coolers in SoCal and Tejas. When they worked they were pretty efficient.

Hi Fran. I made my lazy .... work out tonight. I tried the kettle bell a little bit. It's a little awkward at first. I'm going to look up some videos to figure out some different exercises to do with it.
