In science there are a lot of contradictions. Different statistical methods can lead to different results. Also, different selections of data can lead to different conclusions. Therefore, you can't just have blind faith in statistics, not even when these results are significant, which they are when the p-value is below the magical value of 0.05.

So, with the right statistal method and the right selection of your data sets, you can prove anything. Relevant I think, because these days honest scientific research is hard to find, as we vapers notice all to often. For example, this article shows there is statistical relevant proof that listening to the song "When I'm sixty-four" by the Beatles makes people younger. PHYSICALLY younger, not just in their minds:
