Offering Lobbyist Services

All,

I am a resident of the D.C. area, and my education is focused on policy (finishing up my graduate degree and getting ready for law school). I have also worked in healthcare for the majority of my working life. I have observed that there are many strong advocates of e-cigs, as am I, but unfortunately it is also obvious that most vapor businesses do not have the funds to rally lobbyists. It is admirable that business owners work on commenting on legislation and policy analysis. Unfortunately, a lot of the policies that have an affect on constituents are passed without anyone noticing. I'm thinking about volunteering my time, outside of my healthcare policy responsibilities, to lobby/advocate for the vapor community. Any members/vendors/business owners who think this would be helpful for the community, please get in touch with me. Also, any businesses or vendors who would appreciate a volunteer strategist for their company, please get in touch with me. My personal terminal goal is to work as an international anti-trust healthcare attorney, and my education is focused on healthcare/policy/business as mentioned above. I enjoy this community, and I know it has helped me to live a much healthier and longer life. Now, I would like to give back, and I am well aware how difficult it is for a new industry to gain rapport in both the business world and political realm. I cannot wait to begin working with all of you!

Doc, Go over to the CASAA link in my signature and join, they are doing some good work along these lines and could use your help. It's also a great source for e-cig info and studies.

There is a great deal of data for you to absorb before you will be able to contribute. Read the historic FDA court case threads on ECF; register with Bill Godshall here and get on his mailing list; join CASAA; above all attend CASAA meetings and if possible listen to some replays.

Learn the health issues; the Snus history and how it affects us; the major players in the financial/political manouvering; who pays for what and why; the international situation.

The CASAA, ECCA UK and World vaping Day sites have good resources.
