Wow, weird--I guess I'm not comprehending the CCV's posts here, is it an issue, or is it not an issue? I emailed customer service letting them know that mine contiunes to be powered on at a low voltage after doing the 5-click shut off thing---and they emailed me back saying it's a non-issue. Ok, so when it's on at that low voltage, in my handbag, and something accidently presses the firing button and my purse starts smoking, will it be an issue then? I guess I'm just packing the thing away or tossing it, I need a PV that's ready to use when I'm out and about, I'll not be removing and re-inserting batteries in order to turn it on and off, that's ridiculous. Yay I guess I'll be shopping for a new VV today!

My 1.5 does the same thing although I purchased it somewhere else. Push the power button 5 times goes off, can't vape, push the power button again and it doesn't appear to come on but it does and you can vape. What bothers me is if it is in this state it can have a meltdown while just sitting on the desk. Now that I know about it I will make sure it is turned off but if the button is inadvertently hit while it is off it will immediately go into the low voltage mode.

that low voltage mode only happens when you push power button an extra time from an off state, which seems to be a programming issue with chip-set, the real worry seems to be as mine was sitting on table just started smoldering in smoke,,,yes in the on state as i just set it down from a vape a few minutes before, been trying to get a hold of the manufacturer on this, dealing with the Chinese here so be patient.

:vapor::vapor:Hey Andrew, Getting the new warehouse and good workers has really mellowed you out. You don't seem as stressed, and you are handling all situations calmly and logically. You really seem excited about expanding your product line and promoting each new addition to your inventory. Your attitude towards POS and concern for safety issues is reassuring and comforting.:thumb:

The customers and friends who have been with you from the beginning can breathe a sigh of relief that you won't have a meltdown and alienate yourself.:headbang:

The newer posters in this thread have been upbeat and enthusiastic about your product line and customer service and have brightened this thread and made it enjoyable and productive by giving constructive ideas and tips to you and new vapers.

There are no fan boys/girls here, only ordinary people who have given up a habit that was harmful to their health, and switched to one that is possibly healthier and more enjoyable. All they want is a vendor who can offer the most practial products that are reliable, easy to use, and as safe as possible.:nun:

Keep it up bro, we luv ya!

Ron

PS: I only have one question....WHERE'S THE JOOSE!!!!!!! :vapor::vapor::vapor::D

So it wasn't in the low power stage and probably doesn't have anything to do with that glitch.

There where rumors of changes,,,but my rep at smoktech says no, personally haven't been to the line to see for myself,,lol

On the main forum, under the cartomizer sub-forum, a vendor's rep said that they did change the filler. Another person said that on SmokeTech's website, it stated that they are using a new filler. So I'm not sure what to think, except I don't like them anymore.

I still like em, but its definitely not as much mad crazy love as i used to have for em. Still my main carto, though. Thing is... they still work great, but with my 100% VG juice, I really do need to pull em out of rotation after a week or two and clean em. The old filler, I used to be able to vape em for a good month to two with no cleanings. THAT officially sucks. I wish smoktech would get with the program. If it ain't broke.. don't fix it. And if you fix it and everyone .....es.. change it back! rofl

Ive had 2 out of the 5 pack have an instant Burt taste but the other 3 have made me very pleased.. Gonna have to try the spin thing..

sorry, just saw this. Yeah, definitely try spinning. Never get a burned taste with it. Makes them much much better. Plus, even the ones that tasted burned... try spinning with them. The few times I've been in a hurry and tried a condom fill, or something along those lines, and gotten a burned taste, I've been able to make them taste perfect with a good spin fill. They're not like clearos, that once they taste burnt, they're burnt forever. Thank goodness. lol Oh, and I have a good video that shows you how to spin fill if you need it. Even shows how to make a taryn spin bag. Can't drop it here cause it was produced by another vendor, but they're just illustrating a boge being spun.

CCV you need to email every customer that purchased a 1.5 and tell them about this. I ordered one on 5/4. The only reason I know there is a problem with them is because I literally stumbled across a conversation about it on ecf in the variable voltage section, and I usually never go in there.

As someone who has owned businesses, you have a potentially huge business liability here. Not to mention a real moral responsibility to your customers and their safety. I know you agree with me on the latter. However you need to be very proactive if these are indeed hazardous... EVERY customer needs to know IMMEDIATELY.

You should have emailed everyone already. What if one of these goes haywire and ballistic before you do so? Please be proactive. Maybe the issues isnt that bad and Im making more of it but any injury from a defect is a really bad thing.

Ive sent an email via ccv site about mine and trying to get info. Thanks.

There is a slippery slope with liability, that's for dang sure. I know a vendor who's being sued by a guy's wife because the yahoo bought a mod, disregarded all posted safety warnings about 'safe' stacking, and bought batteries, unprotected and not IMRs, at radio shack, and stacked em. Darn thing exploded. I can't imagine the vendor will be liable, but you never know. And that goes doubly true for something like PV safety, which the average american doesn't know anything about.

Err on the side of caution. Have best practices in place to deal with safety issues. Both for employees and clients. What if an employee is testing a unit and it goes up in smoke in his hand?

Sorry, I for sure dont have all the info but if there is ANY chance these 1.5's are wonky they should be replaced by CCV, and CCV should deal with the supplier over it. No one wants to question their PV's safety. Especially when in use.

Here we have a business owner (?) saying his went poof, and a reply to a customer (apparently) telling them its a non issue? Thats not best practice IMO.

It astonishes me that CCV, having a great growing company, would even take a risk by not notifying customers immediately, and offering replacements or refunds regardless of what the manufacturer wants to do. Your customers confidence in your products and your business is what matters. Even with the expense of recalls thats what brings customers back... when they know you have their back.

Sorry, but I truly believe that the customer is always number 1. If they sont feel confident in your product, do something. Passing it off is not helping them, or your business.

Maybe I sound critical but Im really trying to help. Im taking my 1.5 out of service, and awaiting replacement. Period.

I suggested this a day or so ago as well. CCV is a much respected player in this game, they are one of my first recommendations to anyone I meet, and I would hate to see such a great company take a fall due to something that was not of their design, but something they could have headed off at the pass.

Yeah, I thought about it long and hard today, and there's just no reason good enough for me to keep using mine, seeing as it has the one "glitch", who's to say the other glitch isn't there as well and won't just pop up unexpectedly the same way it did for the owner's very own LT.

I keep checking my email, expecting to see a recall notice from CCV, but there hasn't been one, which has really surprised me, because they are/were my favorite trusted supplier, and I have recommended them without hesitation to others.

I'm really worried about folks who have bought the V1.5 LT from CCV, and don't read the ECF board--no email means no warning for them. I wouldn't have had a clue myself had I not come across this thread.

I will certainly hope for a replacement, because I was really excited about my new LT. If that's not possible I would like a refund, so I can put that money toward the new PV that I ended up ordering from somewhere else, to replace what I no longer feel safe using.

Jeesh, now that I've had a taste of VV, I hope I can make it a week before my new PV arrives! GAH!

Apparently some of you must have missed Andrews statement. Caution is acceptable. Creating a panic is not.:2c:

2tone, no one is creating a panic. I said specifically this is about best practice and minimizing the owners liability, and he has a potentially huge one. If one of these went ballistic on his desk, when in use, with no apparent cause... the five click on/off may OR MAY NOT be the cause.

And I clearly stated... it doesnt matter what the manufacturer wants to do. Its CCV that matters here to customers, and if something does go wrong its CCV they will come after. They cant pass the buck on liability. It doesnt work that way. CCV needs to take steps here, manufacturer or not.

I personally am not panicked. I have plenty of equipment at home to use. But if there is ANY question, mine is taken out of service. Im not risking blowing my hand or face off or burning myself over $80 of aluminum and plastic. I do expect a replacement or a refund. I do not feel safe using it.

There are surely no guarantees in safety, however I will not take extra risks. CCV shouldnt either. Their customers need to be informed.

One problem is I don't have list of everyone sold or I would done it by now, talking with 3dcart see if way search by product purchases,,,In meantime I got with the manufacturer they are aware of this issue an are sending me the replacements v1.5-t, assured me that there where no issues and the quality was very good on this run of v1.5, hence the name v1.5-t ,,, they said v2 is all chrome unit costs twice as much, but since my VMAX'S will be here soon in blk silver and chrome, He is sending out the newer version as soon as possible, they said bout 10% of the original run of v1.5 was affected with this issue, which makes sense because i still got the first one i opened when i received them working perfectly.

BTW: just found way to track products sold will be sending emails out over the weekend.

Thanks Andrew. I'll be looking forward to the V1.5-T with the bugs worked out. I appreciate all your efforts to bring us top quality products and the way you back them with outstanding CS. Looks like the factories who are well aware of issues could notify the vendors instead of you having to go through a bunch of bovine scat to get your information but I guess that's the way it's always been.
