The package I was waiting on today was for a QS90 Smart Bracelet... basically, just a fitness watch but it has heart rate, blood pressure and O2 monitoring along with the standard different fitness monitors ( 9 ) and a sleep monitor.

It's too early to give much of a recommendation but so far it's only has one minor flaw that I can see... wherever it gets it's weather info... it's wrong. :D

I compared the BP info with my other wrist BP tester... the watch shows slightly higher. I don't have an finger O2 tester... but I can say it's reading in about my normal range that I'm used to. Barely under what I'm used to seeing, but since I can't test with another right now...

Here is a pic of the various colors... and shows some of the 4 different watch faces you can select from...

Mine ( the black one ) cost $20 shipped... the colored bands were a little higher.

This is pretty cool. And ya can't beat the price point. What's the quality like? I think I may be interested too. Looked it up and it seems pretty impressive. Looked at the specs and it says one of it's functions is a "drinking reminder". Now THAT'S just awesome! I'm sold!

Of course I can't say how long it'll actually last... it's all plastic. The band is made of TPU ( a stiff rubbery or silicone like band ) and the watch body itself is made of ABS including the clear face you look through. I suspect it'll scratch pretty easily if you're prone to doing that. I typically don't bang or scratch mine up, or at least not the crystal faces I'm used to wearing.

So far... I like how the time shows up when I twist my wrist and then goes right back off. It took me a bit to figure out how to switch it into 12hr mode instead of military time... I had to disable my smartphone's automatic time zone and I also switched the phones 12/24 mode on and back off ( not sure which worked ). I've only had one phone call once I'd setup the watch... and I forgot to even look at it to see how it handled that. I took a short nap but it didn't register it... so I may a learning curve for that.

I'm probably most curious about how long the battery will last before needing to be recharged...

These are available on Amazon if you are in a real hurry ( costs about $30-35 there )... or HK shops like Banggood, GeekBuying etc have them for around the $20 I mentioned ( for black ). I did the free shipping from GB and it was just under a month to get here... if I'd spend a couple of more bucks it could have been in in 1/2 the time.

Question tho. Do they HAVE to be tethered to an app? I'm a dinosaur these days, my iPhone is OLD, and my iPad is using 6.1.3, which I refuse to update. I wasn't always like this. I used to "acquire" the newest whatever as it got released. But ya know, age sets in.........

As far as I know... all smartwatches and fitness watches ( including this one ).. require an app on a phone in order to show the data and track it over time. They are basically just a bunch of different sensors with a little bit of storage room for the data... all of the "bookkeeping" and some of the heavy lifting ( GPS data etc ) is done by the smartphone.

This one requires....
Support OS: Android 4.3 or above, IOS 7.0 or above

In addition, like many of these... it's not a Apple Watch or Android Wear compatible device. What that means, it requires their APP to get and track the data ( much like the Samsung watches which are Tizen based only so require their APP to function ).

Ok... today I finished a working prototype spreadsheet that I've been working on designing and implementing over the last week ( well, since Weds )... I still have data from about 2-3 of their sheets to convert and move into my database setup... but first I need to see if they like how I've implemented it or not. Converting how they recorded the data is the most work. I compiled only two sheets of data and it took over a day ( maybe two ).

Currently for one company they track and gather data for in this one area... They've got data from 65 different wells currently contained in 7 different spreadsheets. Each well has one or two static graphs for their report they make with the data being pulled from those 7 sheets. Each time they add more data, they've got to manually update each graph to include the new information that they added to one or more of the 7 sheets.

As I mentioned.... My new spreadsheet has the all of the data of two of those spreadsheets moved into one and the remaining sheets I haven't converted yet, will also be in this one sheet's database list. So when they add data, they only have to go to one place to add it. When they want to update their graph, they simply select the well they want from a drop down list and the data is then automatically pulled and the graph is then automatically updated. So now instead of having one or two graphs for each well... they only have two graphs that work with all of the wells with the data for them being dynamically pulled in.

Here a screenshot of the working prototype graph that I've made so far... It is showing the depth to the ground water ( in feet ) and the amount of benzene that is found in it ( in ppm ). This particular one is significant in that it shows what happened to the ground water that's found in the well after a major problem back in 2001. That water could potentially seep back into the aquifer, which is why they track this type of data. It also shows the effect of the improvements in their filtering since around 2010 where the benzene levels dropped significantly. They also test and track actual drinking water wells in the area for the same reasons.
