... and perhaps a bit more excitement along with it from the sounds of it since a bit south of you ( Ft Laud. ) may have had a tornado or a very strong RFDD ( aka microburst ) also...

Yep, we did get some rain yesterday, more today with we have forecasts for even more and yes we still need it.
Yes south of us was getting hammered. Ft Lauderdale where My sis lives. She likes to hangout in Lauderdale By The Sea, and they had at least one tornado today.
But My sis was probably by that time at cruising altitude heading out to Denver.

September of 2017 was the last time we received any measurable rainfall.
And I'm not down in the AZ desert. I'm up in the mountains, where we "normally" get some snowfall.
Out reservoirs are getting critically low.
