OK, I'm a bit tired of this storm now, it just WON'T leave. Windows rattling, bushes, small trees bending, nothing real terrible, just really, well, annoying at this point. One more day to go. I think Nova Scotia can be her host next. I've done my part.
Back in the early '70s I drove my old beater 66 Chevy, packed with myself, couple cases of beer, my 22 year older-than-me biker girlfriend, and her hundred and something pound Collie (huge dog) up to the Cape to see my old friend who moved there about 5 years before. Uninvited. Unannounced until we pulled in. Um, they were "surprised". My friend was gracious, we got fresh lobsters for dinner, went sailing on a huge lake. Got lost at midnight in the complete blackness of some farmer's huge cornfield. Great time had by all. On day one. See, that's where the problem was. We didn't just stay for day one. Or day two. Or day
three (well, we finally gave them some much needed relief after that night). Pretty damn stupid of me. But, I was a kid (well, a 20 yr old kid). Years later my friend (he passed away in 2001) was still gracious enough to laugh about the whole episode with me. God bless him!
Anyway, my point was that they probably felt about me the way I feel about Hermine right now. Please, just go away!
Don't know why I'm relating all that. Just felt like writing, I guess. Been a long time since I have...
