Hello DV :) It's late night here, so I hope you had a great weekend and Happy Sunday to those who follow

Grrrr, OK seriously, I'm bck to burnt hits. I really wish I knew what I was doing wrong! Do u guys think I'm burning the cotton somehow? I tend to chain vape, are u not supposed to do that with the R91?
It is possible that when you are chain vaping you're not allowing the juice to soak the wick in time between vapes. The easiest thing to try is allowing more wicking time (and/or take a pull on the drip tip without firing the mod to help feed the juice to the wick). The next thing to try is rewicking with less cotton...if there is too much cotton in the coil, then the wick can get choked at the coil and not get enough juice to the one place you really need it. If you do rewick, look carefully at the cotton you pull out from the coil...if it is dark brown or black where it was in contact with the coil, then somehow there is not enough juice to keep up with the heat. Only a small amount of cotton is really needed, and it should easily slide into the coil when dry (some users post that they use the cotton from a Qtip for a coil, so you only need a little). Once I install the cotton in the coil, I "fluff" up the bits sticking out of the coil, install the chimney, and then very gently tuck the ends toward the juice channels (I don't try to poke the ends down into the channels, since the juice will feed up the channels where the cotton will then pick it up and carry it to the coil). I hope this all makes sense :)

Did you try any of the coils I sent to you? I hope they work out for you :thumb:

I rewicked it, it the cotton slides in and out fine, but I'm still getting dry hits unless I cover up the airhole and take a hit without firing. I have to do this several times in between hits before I see any bubbles. *scratches head*

So it seems that would mean that the pressure in the R91 isn't balanced. I wonder if you were to screw the air adjustment in so that it is less "airy" in the draw that might help balance out the pressure so that the juice feeds better when you vape? Are you vaping a thick liquid?

From what you've said, the amount of cotton isn't the problem and it is wicking fine...it just isn't feeding the juice as well as it should.
Seems we're going to get one more decent day. 40 and sunny. WOOT
Congrats Fran...I hope all the snow is gone from the roofs by now :)

I don't have a 91, nor do I use drippers or cotton, here's what I can tell you:

Make sure the air and fill holes are clear, there needs to be air circulating thru the tank

Pulse fire when a new coil is installed, (take small, short puffs, at first) Break it in slow

I do know if you burn cotton you have to swap it out

Happy Sunday night every one. Kaleb, good to hear it is getting better. Progress sounds good with any device. I have a few kayfuns, 3 are perfect. 1 is still weird @ times. They are all pretty much set the same. But i found that starting off, pulsing the switch on a fresh build & battery, is great advice. Also the airflow control is very important. So many variables like wick, fluid, coil and coil height then airflow also?? It is not a simple device to set up, but once they are working good, WOW you will know. I also have a R91, i did not like the airflow adjustment & let it sit a few months. Almost sold it twice but now, once i figured out the airflow, it is back in rotation. Sorry it has been a love/hate relation ship. Making up can be fun  Night every one
